About this property
The Shanty by the Creek
Get away from it all when you stay under the stars in The Shanty. A rare gem nestled in the Tennessee woods by a relaxing creek. Come sit by the fire, on one of 2 decks by the water, or in the hammock to enjoy sounds of nature as you feel the tranquility rejuvenating your soul. Have a smores party or a romantic getaway. Come meditate and leave the world behind. Whatever your reason, The Shanty is a great place to visit.
The space
This property provides an indoor shower and an outdoor shower. It has a tankless water heater so your shower will not run out of hot water. Friends, take your time in that princess shower! There is an outdoor bathroom that offers a composting toilet that is carefully sanitized after each guest.
Creek walking is one of our favorite activities here. If you want to venture out on a creek walk, then bring your creek shoes. Just remember that there are some spots that are quite slippery. There are also some places down our county roads that the water is deep enough to dip in and enjoy that way. Bring some clothes you can get wet in!
The Shanty is a one room beauty with a loft for extra sleeping with a full size bed. The bed downstairs is queen size. There is an adorable kitchen with a coffee station and we provide the basic needs of a simple meal preparation. It has an air fryer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, Berkey water filter, dishes, bowls, utensils, glasses and cups. We provide environmentally friendly hygiene products as well. We are excited to share our oasis and trust you will love it here almost as much as we do.
Guest access
There is a shared driveway that splits and leads to the Shanty. We will have signs that mark owners retreat that is also located on the property. pets are welcome if they are kept on a leash and are well behaved. Please clean up after your fur baby and keep all animals off the furniture no matter how much they beg you. We don't wish to have any injuries or losses.
Other things to note
If this is a special occasion, please include us in your plans and if we are able, we will happily help you with your surprise or celebration. If there is anything that you need that you do not have or expected from us, please let us know so we can spoil you as best we can. We want you to come away with a desire to return and share this sweet spot with your family and friends. If you have a recreational vehicle, you can bring it and enjoy the many county roads that meander the countryside with beautiful views.
If you wish to enjoy a fire in the pit, then let us know ahead of time so we can get it ready for you and make sure we have enough dry wood for you to burn.
Please take a moment to sign our guest book. I always enjoy reading other peoples experiences and looking at their doodles.
