Size. quiet spaces and accessories were great. AC was a huge benefit. Lot's of space outdoors for the kids to play. However, mosquitoes were bad 5 out of 7 days. The screened in Carriage House Porch was full of flys coming up through floor boards. We spent most days at Cabot Park Beach which was a crown jewel for our kids and adults - warm, safe beach with lots of sandy beach and sandbars to explore. The location was 15 minutes to a Grocery store or 5 minutes to seafood wharf. All in all a great vacation for our large extended family (4 families).
The property is somewhat remote and therefore quiet. The house was comfortable; the carriage house was quite musty until we aired it out. We explored the nearby "beach," which is walkable but not a swimming beach. The best beach was Thunder Cove, which was great for swimming, not nearly as crowded as Cavendish and had marvelous red cliffs, coves and monoliths to explore. We spent one morning just playing in the yard -- frisbee, croquet (though there were only 2 wickets; we fashioned more out of twigs) and corn hole. The firepit and hammocks were a hit, though the mosquitoes chased us away at dusk. And the sunsets were splendid.
Old heritage house but we had an excellent time at the cottage.

Wonderful period property
The property easily accommodated our mini family reunion made up of 8 adults, and 8 grandchildren ages 6 to 17.
There was lots of room inside and especially outside for playing soccer, softball etc.

Fits The Bill
We had 16 family members between the two houses and managed to squeeze everyone in. Lovely grounds to be sure. The houses have a lot of wear and tear due to their age but the superintendent, Richard, was there when we had issues and it all worked.

All smiles ,lighthearted and well rested with few distraction but to enjoy the beauty.
We had a wonderful family reunion of 3 generations this past July.
Our grand children had so much fun exploring the vast outdoors picking cherries , flowers and running through the apple orchard. One highlight was the walk down the lane to the beach.
We rented both houses and found them very comfortable.
I will long cherish this peaceful and charming place. Carol and Ed Turnier

Beautiful, large property in an excellent location
It's a large house with extra option of the carriagehouse, the owners and property manager were very kind and understanding to clarify any misunderstandings. We enjoyed our stay there, it was quite a luxury!

Such a beautiful place!
We held a family reunion here, 8 adults, 6 kids. A great success! Montgomery House had all the charm of yesteryear while much of it had been lovingly restored. The grounds were such fun for the kids to run around. The fields of sparkling canola we will never forget. Next time we will bring our bikes. Cabot Beach Provincial Park was a beautiful place to walk and swim.
Malpeque is about a half hour drive to many other beautiful sites. As soon as we drove back up the driveway, we realized why we were staying here. It was so, so relaxing. And just like the last time we visited the island, 35 years ago.
The owners' handyman was very responsive to our needs. A clothesline was a great addition!

Great Family Holiday Location
My extended family rented both the main house and carriage house for a week in July. The accommodations were perfect for our large group. Lots of bedrooms, places to play sports outside, short walk to the water! The house was very well kept and we loved the charm! Everyone we dealt with was very helpful, quick to respond and polite. The location was great for day trips to other locations but still plenty to do at the cottage and in the local area. Hope to go back again some time!

Pastoral splendor in stunning Malpeque bay
We booked both the main and carriage house for our three family stay on Prince Edward Island. The houses were both very well equipped with all expected amenities.
The property is located in a perfect spot on the island overlooking Malpeque bay. There is a restaurant called the Oyster barn a short bicycle (or car) ride away where one can have a fest on local seafood freshly harvested from the bay daily.
Our week was very relaxing and refreshing. Visiting the Island is like traveling back in time to a simpler and gentler era. The cadence and pace are ideal for a get away and the scenery is breath taking. Each vista on the island more amazing than the last along the coastal roads, beaches and extensive network of bicycle paths.

Complete change of scenery for a city dweller
We had an amazing time. The scenery was beautiful and it was a total change of pace coming from a bigger city. Staying at a house like this was a great choice for a longer stay. The house itself was well maintained and very comfortable. The view especially was great...Apple orchards and ocean views...perfect.
I will definitely be coming back here yearly.
