Casa Vieques is situated on two hilltop acres with incredible sweeping views of the Caribbean and the surrounding meadows and hillsides. This is a nature lovers retreat with wild horses by day and awesome views of the Milky Way at night because of low light pollution. Some guests say they have never seen the Milk Way in their entire life until they stayed at Casa Vieques. If you are looking to relax and have a peaceful vacation Casa Vieques is the right choice.

Close to everything but you will feel like you have escaped when you are sitting on the private 50 ft balcony watching the wild horses and the Caribbean. Casa Vieques is only two miles from the quaint village of Esperanza and 7 miles from Isabel Segunda. You will be close to some of the best beaches on the island.

The construction of the home with one foot thick walls and foam insulation survived Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 Hurricane with no structural damage. Only a little paint was needed. Casa Vieques is in tip top shape,

The entire front of the house opens to ocean views with four 8 ft by 8 ft. doors. The open air design allows the steady trade winds to flow through the house for quiet comfort provided by nature.

Two Master suites are spacious with king size beds and wonderful open air showers that are very private . You will only need a sheet or light blanket to feel completely comfortable at night. You can get into the spirit of this escape listening to the gentle sounds of tree frogs, birds chirping and horses grazes on the hillside. Enjoy coffee in bed with a view. of the carribean.

The living area has comfortable teak furniture which includes four club chairs, couch, side tables and coffee table. The deck has six Adirondack chairs with side tables for outside sunning and enjoyment.

The kitchen is fully equipped with insulated glasses, pots and pans, full set of dishes, utensils, mixing bowls, chef knives and more. The refrigerator has an ice maker. There is also a coffee maker, toaster, gas cook top and combination microwave/convection oven. There is seating available on the piano bar and at a separate table for dining.

We also have beach chairs, beach towels and a well insulated cooler.

Paradise

We love coming to this property! The best part is the amazing view! It’s quiet, convenient location to town, restaurants and beaches! We enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the horses in our front yard! It’s nice having a complete kitchen, 2 bedrooms/bathes, and new beach chairs! Perfect place to stay while on the island! 🏝️

Beautiful Location

The setting here is absolutely beautiful. The deck on the back of the house overlooks a big piece of land that is often occupied by horses, with a view of the ocean in the background. We spent hours there just watching the horses. It was set apart from the more populated parts of the island, so it felt like we were in our own personal paradise. The only problem is that it was very hot, and the ceiling fans didn't do much to alleviate the heat. It felt cool enough on the balcony, and if we opened all the back doors it was fairly cool, but only if you were near the open doors. There was a heat wave going on at the time so I realize these weren't normal circumstances, but some floor fans would've been quite helpful. Regardless, we would love to stay at this magical place again!

Great view!

Staying at Casa Vieques was wonderful! Everything available to make you feel right at home. Spacious, with high ceilings and fans everywhere. Loved, loved the outdoor showers with a view of the ocean! Looked forward to coming back after a day on the beach to a cocktail on the large porch. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Stay, as advertised

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Communication with Barb was excellent and prompt. The house was extremely comfortable, private, with excellent views.. Had the most comfortable beds and pillows. The towels were amazing, so soft. Internet was fast and reliable. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. There is no oven but there is a convection microwave. I would certainly stay here again

Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed the expansive view from the deck and inside the house. The deck is directly in the sun and becomes quite hot in the morning and afternoon. An umbrella table would provide protection and comfort. The umbrella could be cabled to the railing and house for wind protection. The evenings were fabulous! The 2 bedroom suites were perfect for us! The house has many ceiling fans to keep the air moving. The kitchen was well supplied and the ice maker a plus for a beach cooler. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer. Packing light is always the plan. It is a very quiet location. Watching and listening to the horses was so pleasant! Loved it and will return!

A perfect location and property for 2 couples or a family of four...for a quiet restful stay in beautiful Vieques. We loved the ocean facing deck, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor showers, starry skies and comfortable living area!

Wonderful views & relaxing privacy

We visited Casa Vieques for the third time over New Year’s and into January. This was our first visit to the island after Hurricane Maria. The house was in great shape and still had all the amenities we have come to appreciate on previous visits. The location is fantastic, close to everything on the island, But so private that we felt like we were in our own world. The house is very clean and has wonderful doors that open the entire house to an incredible view of the Caribbean. Wild horses visit the property regularly and there is a watering trough available to them, and they will expect it to have water in it if you are sitting around on the veranda. The house is stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beaches. Towels, beach chairs, beach toys and coolers. The kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal or just sandwiches for your beach trips. Also the house has a full size washer & dryer and they provide laundry soap too. The ice maker was especially appreciated, we never had to buy ice for the cooler. No A/C but it was not needed. Casa Vieques is situated on a hill that catches all the breezes and there are plenty of ceiling fans to help keep you cool. There is a very good internet connection that allows you to stay in touch. The restaurants and stores are open for business, and we had some wonderful & memorable meals all over Vieques. We found it easy to get around the island with our rental (get a jeep, avoid the golf carts) and the location of Casa Vieques made it easy to go anywhere anytime.

Loved our second visit

The house is open with a large terrace that faces the pasture and ocean further away. Horses graze each day with their egret friends. A hummingbird visits daily as well. The house is well equipped both for the beach and for cooking. The island is totally laid back which is why we love it, not to mention the gorgeous and numerous beaches! We will hopefully return for a third stay!

Perfect for Two Couples

What you see on this listing is what you get. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We stayed here with another couple for 10 days and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The living room furniture was comfortable for lounging and the beds were great. The set up for 2 couples was just perfect. We ate most of our breakfasts and lunches at the house as well as a few dinners and we had everything we needed to prepare and cook the meals even though there was no oven. The grill served us well. We enjoyed the horses roaming the backyard, not so much the trail rides coming through twice daily. We would stay here again.

Beautiful & Serene

Thank you for sharing this piece of Paradise with us. Everything was wonderful. Loved the landscape, view of horses, mango tree, ocean & island. Had everything we needed to relax, cook, go to the beach. Thanks for equipping the kitchen for making our own meals and dining in when we just wanted to stay put and watch the horses, stars and sky. Thanks for the beach bag and snorkel equipment. Bed was comfortable, love the shower and openness to the outside. We love that you fill the tub of water for the horses and enjoyed watching them come and drink. Joey the property manager was a great help: easy to reach when needed, responsive, welcoming, friendly, and full of good suggestions and advice. We can't recommend Casa Vieques enough!

Beautiful

We truly enjoyed the home and all the extras. There were beach bags, snorkeling gear, beach mats, beach towels, coolers, pretty much everything you need for the beach. Loved watching the horses and saying hello to the trail ride groups that came by. The views were magnificent, the people friendly, the food good, the beaches and the mountains just breathtaking.

Great house to stay in !

House sat on hill that overlooks the ocean. Beautiful, relaxing view. Property is well kept and is so peaceful. Loved watching the wild horses that visited every day. The porch that covers the entire back of house is so nice to sit out on and relax. The view of the ocean from each bedroom was great to have. The home owner has provide every thing you need for the beach. Ex. Chairs, umbrella, towels, & snorkeling gear. King size beds in each room was so nice and comfortable.

Peaceful, beautiful home near Esperanza

We just returned from a week in this wonderful home in the hills between Esperanza and Isabel Segundo, closer to Esperanza. Glorious breezes, views of the ocean, horses visit and feed every day in the pasture below, especially in the afternoon...very special. Two identical bedrooms at either end of the common area which is open to the kitchen area. That is well stocked for cooking, thought we didn't do any of that! No doubt we would have if it were a different time of year when sunset is later so we could enjoy dinner with sunset as a backdrop. One can tell that the 2 Barbaras have a good sense of style, both from the construction and décor of the house. It is simple, but new and clean. The ceiling fans were all we needed to feel very comfortable. Vieques is so laid back with no high rise anything anywhere. Just how we love it. We are not beach people, and yet Vieques and the variety of lovely beaches has gotten under our skin. And the food is yummy. Try the Mofungo! We are planning to return to the island...and this house. And on another note, we were affected by the blizzard in the NE and the owners were extremely kind and generous when we needed to extend our stay by a few days (poor us)!!

A wonderful getaway

A beautiful place to stay. Quiet and serene with beautiful views of the Caribbean, horses and a stunning night sky. It is tucked away but easy to get everywhere you need to. The property is beautifully maintained, clean and comfortable. There is no AC and no need for it, the tropic breezes flowed throughout the house. Barbara was wonderful and responsive and the book of information was very helpful. We were there for two weeks and enjoyed every second of it.

Perfect Rental Home - Perfect Island!

This is a perfect Vieques Rental House - we loved staying there. My sister and I visited the island for the first time and will most definitely be returning. The house has everything you could possible need and it is extremely clean, the beds are super comfortable and have great reading lights, the baths are well appointed and have gorgeous open air showers, bedrooms are very spacious, the living room is open with great doors that open all the way for fantastic indoor / outdoor living space - the terrace is gorgeous and the kitchen very well appointed. Great laundry facilities and the views are stunning. It is close to town but far enough away to be peaceful - perfect location! Joey was great at showing me the workings of the house and some information about the island and answered my many questions. Barbara has also left a very informative book at the house to share with her tenants which we found to be fantastic. This is a great rental - I have much experience as a renter and also own a homeaway vacation home and this is definitely a 5 star rental!

A great find in Vieques!

First the house is spotless. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need including spices. We traveled with another couple and had a great time running all over the island in our Jeep. Joey the caretaker met us and drove us to the house, nice man. The house is light and airy. The breezes were splendid so we never felt hot. We had a few mosquitoes, but no bites, actually no bugs, just some cute lizards. We used the ice chest and beach chairs every day. The water was fine, we drank it all week without problems. The view was beautiful. We really enjoyed the horses and the stars at night were awesome. The WIfi worked great. The Bose speaker only takes an IPod and the flat screen TV is just for CD movies (not that we wanted to watch TV anyway). The owner Barbara was easy to work with and communicative. We sent personal cheeks without issues. Overall a wonderful experience, I think anyone would be lucky to rent this home. GLW

Casa Vieques

Our family had a great experience staying at Casa Vieques, the location couldn't have been better. It accommodated the four of us perfectly, the house was spacious and open. The views were outstanding and the horses an added bonus. The star gazing at night was spectacular sitting on the large patio with horses walking by on a regular basis. Make sure you rent a four wheel drive vehicle while your staying on the island, if you are adventurous and want access to all the beaches like we did you'll need it.

VERY ROMANTIC NEW PROPERTY GREAT VIEW PEACEFUL

THIS PROPERTY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT IS LOCATED A SHORT WALK FROM TOWN AND EXCELLENT BEACHES. THE LOCAL HORSES ARE THE ONLY GANGSTERS YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AND THEY ARE QUIET ENTERTAINING. THIS IS THE PERFECT PROPERTY FOR COUPLES AND FAMILIES THAT JUST WANT TO GET AWAY FROM IT ALL BUT STILL WANT ACCESS TO TOWN AND NIGHT LIFE. VERY BEAUTIFUL BEACHES ALL OVER THE ISLAND. A MUST STAY TO BE APPRECIATED.

Casa Viegas

Casa Vieques in Vieques, PR is a real gem. There is no light pollution and I was able to see the Milky Way for the 1st time my life. The patio is awesome. You can enjoy the Caribbean landscape, the breeze, and my favorite, the horses. You can watch the interaction of horses, from mare toward the colt. In addition, I did not know that horses have family dynamics very similar to humans . Casa Vieques really delivers on the accommodations. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom with a shower that has no ceiling. You can truly shower and look up the stars...awesome....truly awesome. We utilized the TV, WiFi,along with a Bose docking station that allows you to listen to your favorite tunes and re-charge your battery. This home really delivers on our wants and needs. Already planning to return next summer

AMAZING!!!

This property feels like "home" with all of its amenities and little touches. The entire back of the house opens up to spectacular views of the ocean, and it is so relaxing to sit on the patio in the morning and watch the sailboats sale out of the harbor. Barb has pretty much thought of everything that makes staying at Casa de Viequense a stress-free experience so you can concentrate on enjoying all the island has to offer or just doing nothing but relaxing. I definitely recommend this home to anyone who is planning a vacation to Vieques. It's a very short drive to some beautiful white sand beaches and into Esperanza, and the house's location on the hill just above Esperanza takes maximum advantage of the trade winds to keep it cool with light breezes throughout the day and night. My family is already tying to plan our next vacation there!

This property is absolutely awesome!

Amazing property amazing owners just simply amazing. We loved this house and the land and the owners of this property. It is just perfect for a stay on this island. The peace and view on this land not to mention the build of this home itself. I would highly recommend this choice for all reasons when you take a trip. We have nothing negative to point out really its just 100%. The island is paradise as well best kept secret I must say. THANK YOU for allowing us to stay on this jewel in nature we will never forget such a beautiful experience.

Romantic, private & great location

We found this to be the perfect house for us to enjoy for a romantic getaway. The location is fantastic, close to everything on the island. But so private that we felt like we were in our own world. The house is new and very clean with wonderful doors that open the entire house to an incredible view of the Caribbean. Add wild horses to the lovely meadow and you are in your own private heaven. There is a watering trough thoughtfully provided for the horses on the property. The house is stocked with everything you need to enjoy the beaches. Towels, beach chairs and coolers. The kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful meal or just sandwiches for your beach trips. Also the house has a full size washer & dryer and they provide laundry soap too. The ice maker was especially appreciated, we never had to buy ice for the cooler. The outdoor showers were different & really fun, just don't flush while someone is showering. Great internet connection made it easy to stay in touch. The house manager Joey was able to answer any questions that came up and was also very accommodating when our travel plans changed minute to minute due to weather & airline problems. The beds were very comfortable and both bedrooms had their own full bath & outdoor showers. No A/C but it was not needed. Casa Vieques is situated on a hill that catches all the breezes and there are plenty of ceiling fans to help keep you cool We also were pleasantly surprised that the mosquitos were not bad even though we had lots of rain while we were there. There is also an Ipod dock for your tunes but we found the sounds of nature were all we needed to hear. You can also hear the ocean. We truly loved everything about our vacation and are making plans to return as soon as we can for a longer visit. Vieques is an undiscovered gem, and that won't last long. The beaches are pristine and the people friendly. We found some really wonderful restaurants but also enjoyed cooking at the house & watching a movie. We found it easy to get around the island with our rental car and the location of Casa Vieques made it easy to go anywhere anytime.

Casa Vieques was completed in 2012 and is one of the few eco friendly homes on Vieques. The two owners Barb and Barbara are the best of friends and designed and built the house for maximum comfort, view and privacy. You will fall in love with Vieques just like we have.
