This great log home on Lake Bellaire is a peaceful retreat. This lake sparkles amid northwest Michigan’s beautiful countryside. Loons Landing welcomes up to six guests with three bedrooms and one bathroom.

The cabin features a well-equipped open-concept kitchen that connects to the living and dining areas, providing all necessary amenities for meal preparation and dining. Adorned with tasteful "Up North" decor, this lodging in Northern Michigan offers a comfortable and charming ambiance. The living room has a gas fireplace, perfect for cozy relaxation.

Step outside onto the covered porch and relax. Take advantage of the provided charcoal grill while enjoying the sound of loons over the water. A picnic table, grill, and fire pit wait for summertime fun. A tree swing provides that extra touch of rustic fun. There is a boardwalk through the wetland area to get to the water.

Lake Bellaire is situated to the east of Lake Michigan, an all-sports lake provides plenty of opportunities for swimming, boating, kayaking, water-skiing, fishing, and much more. Lake Bellaire is one of the 14 lakes and rivers in the Elk River Watershed Chain of Lakes and has been referred to as a “Fisherman’s Paradise.”

It is an easy drive to Alden and Bellaire where you can dine, pick up groceries, or shop at the many eclectic stores in the small towns around the lakes.

Charming cottage

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming wood cottage near the lake, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the professional management team made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect of our stay. The cottage itself is a delightful retreat, beautifully crafted with rustic wood interiors that create a warm and cozy atmosphere. The views of the lake were simply breathtaking, providing the perfect backdrop for our morning coffee and evening relaxation. The location is ideal for nature lovers, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, fishing, and kayaking just a stone’s throw away. We took advantage of the nearby trails and spent hours exploring the serene surroundings. Inside, the cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-stocked, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. Overall, our stay at this wood cottage was nothing short of magical. The combination of stunning natural beauty, a well-maintained property, and exceptional management made for an unforgettable experience. We are already planning our return visit! Great trip

Nice quaint location, although we thought we would be walking distance to Bellaire. Loved the cabin and it was close to trails in the area. We enjoyed our stay!

Very Tranquil

Very nice location and cabin. In the wood and on the water. Perfect place for quite and relaxation and close enough to town for fun and good food. Our stay would have been better if the dock had been put out. Only complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was so low it barely rinsed the soap off.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin was cute and my family enjoyed the dock and having access to the lake from the property. Water pressure a little low in the shower but wasn't a big deal. We will definitely book again if ever in the area.

Great Stay!

Based on last years reviews I was expecting this to not be very clean but liked that we could bring our dog. We had zero complaints about how clean it was so were pleasantly surprised. Maybe new housekeeping since last year. Other reviews really helped with understanding the dock area and boardwalk so that was as expected. We had a great stay!

Perfect spot to unwind and detach. Hunting for Petoskey stones on the shores of Lake Michigan became our go to activity. Highly recommend a trip up to Charlevoix. The 4 days we spent wasn’t enough!

Great little place

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was a little concerned because some of the other reviews mentioned it being dirty but we didn't find that to be the case. It was fine. The shower is a pretty dated and the water pressure leaves much to be desired but the beds were comfy. Loved being able to be on the water but it is a little bit of a hike from the cabin to the actual lake but the dock is great. It is mucky around the dock and there's no beach but if you have a boat you can drive over to the Grass River sandbar pretty quickly. All in all, we thought it was perfectly fine for the amount we paid. Loved having 3 bedrooms.

Beautiful location

The cabin was cute and the location was nice. The cabin needs a deep clean and a few repairs. Though on a lake, there is no where to swim from the waters edge. Grand kids were too scared to go in from the dock. Very disappointed about that.

Cozy Cottage

The cottage is cute and cozy, very rustic feeling. We were looking forward to being on the lake but unfortunately is is not a good area to swim. The water is extremely mucky and we wish this was put in information about cottage. There could also be some updates with the TV. Was not set up properly for use and no way to stream anything. Only a vcr and dvd player with no movies provided to use. Great place to stay is you wanna see the beautiful lake but not go in. We also appreciated that this cottage was pet friendly and close to downtown Bellaire.

Great location!

We enjoyed the location the most, halfway between downtown Bellaire and Dockside in Torch. I’ll echo the previous reviews that the the cabin was not as tidy as the other places we stay on our yearly visits to Bellaire. It wasn’t dirty but could use a good cleaning under and around furniture, under the beds and have dog hair vacuumed off furniture. If you are looking for a rustic up north vacation, this would be great for you!

Great Potential, years of neglect

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, great potential, but years of neglect. This house has obviously been in the rental program for years without much upkeep. Overgrown vegetation blocking the boardwalk. Burnt out lights, bath fan was broken, screen doors that didn’t close, stuff all over the yard, no ash collector on the charcoal grill, no kitchen towels or dish rags, birds nests over the doors. Pretty much everything was either on it’s last leg or already broken. Great location and has serious potential to be an incredible experience if general maintenance and a very deep cleaning happened.

Amazing location between Torch Lake and Town of Bellaire. We were next to Torch Lake Wineries.

The location was amazing and center of so much. It was very much dog friendly and tons of space for his crate. The landscape was overgrown as compared to the pictures. We would stay again.

June 2022 stay

We came up with our four kids and two dogs. We loved the log cabin and it had everything we needed. The boat dock was the only disappointment being that it was functioning at the time but we did get communication about that beforehand. Torch lake was very close by and we used that lake to boat every day. There was a launch two house to the left that we used for our jet skis. The nightly bonfires and peaceful mornings were our favorite. Although the ice cream in town was phenomenal and is a must for every visit. All in all we loved it!!!

Loon Landing without the landing dock.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 1. When we arrived we almost could not enter because the lockbox is old and malfunctioning. 2. The photo features a long dock extending into the lake (look at the photo here on this page. The lake access was the entire point of renting Loon Landing. But the dock was not installed, so there was no lake access. 3. The two T.V.s in the house did not work. (They powered up but the controls were so out of order thet it was impossible to access the cable service). The cabin was clean and in fine condition, but we won't be renting again from your company.

October weekend

We spent the weekend with 2 other couples to relax, visit the brewery, see the colors, and visit the area. The cabin was a great location and was comfortable overall. The walk to the lake was beautiful and it was a nice quiet area. The beds were a little soft for our group but might be great for others. The coffee pot was a bit slow brewing for us....we were all coffee drinkers and needed our morning java. Overall, we would stay again.
