Situato a 1,5 km dal centro di Brattleboro, questo appartamento con pannelli in legno recentemente rinnovato dispone di cucina completamente attrezzata, confortevole isola da pranzo, un bellissimo camino a legna, internet ad alta velocità e TV Si trova in una posizione tranquilla e boscosa ma vicino alle principali arterie, negozi di alimentari, ristoranti e attività ricreative, pista di pattinaggio a pochi passi. Arredato con gusto, l'appartamento dispone di un lussuoso letto king-size, un comodo divano e una poltrona e un bagno pulito e recentemente rinnovato con vasca.

Sentieri escursionistici e la foresta sono proprio dietro la casa; puoi indossare gli scarponcini da trekking e partire direttamente dal cortile di casa.

Offriamo tutti i comfort: una cucina completamente attrezzata con tutto il necessario per preparare un pasto. Oltre a pentole e padelle e complimenti completi di utensili, forniamo articoli di base come olio da cucina, spezie, caffè e tè.

Oltre alla televisione via cavo standard, la TV è un set "intelligente" con account con Netflix e Hulu già collegati.

Durante l'estate abbiamo un delizioso tavolo e sedie per gustare un drink all'aperto e una griglia a carbone Weber. Sentiti libero di passeggiare nello splendido paesaggio e aiuole, e assicurati di prendere un po 'di prezzemolo o basilico fresco dal giardino appena fuori dalla porta. In inverno il comprensorio sciistico Brattleboro (una piccola collina t-bar dove si può sciare per $ 5) e la pista di pattinaggio di Worthington è a pochi passi di distanza.

Prendiamo molto seriamente la soddisfazione dei nostri ospiti e ci impegniamo a fornirti tutto ciò di cui hai bisogno. Viviamo nell'appartamento accanto, quindi se hai bisogno di qualcosa puoi semplicemente passeggiare e bussare alla nostra porta.

Gli animali domestici sono sempre i benvenuti, ovviamente! Abbiamo un cane sciocco di nome Gracie e due gatti viziati, Pepper e The Dude. Tutti si divertono a incontrare nuovi amici e Gracie è sempre pronta a dare la caccia in casa!

Noi di Culbertson House non vediamo l'ora di incontrarvi e condividere con voi la nostra incantevole proprietà.

We only ask that our guests enjoy our property quietly; we live in the apartment next door and there are others living in the building. No smoking in the apartment please. Great studio, would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay here with our dog. Julia was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is set up nicely, bed was comfortable. Some items were a bit worn and I had to get down on the floor to turn down the heat and got dusty, but bathroom, bedding, and kitchen were very clean so that was most important. Would stay again!

Lovely stay in a wooded setting

Everything about this VRBO stay was great! The hosts are very responsive and welcoming. They have anticipated and provided everything you might need for both short or longer stays. And they have included local information and recommendations that guests would appreciate. The studio apartment itself is charming, with lots of character—nothing cookie-cutter about this place —which is to be expected, as one of the hosts is an artist. A special note about the bed in this VRBO for those travelers who may have a hard time sleeping when away from home: The king size mattress and bedding that the hosts have provided is sublime! An amazing night’s sleep, which is rare for me!

Wonderful property and stay

I would highly recommend this space to those with dogs. Nice wooded area perfect for a quick hike/wonderful sniffing area for dogs. The owners of the property are very accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable of the area. David made sure I had everything I needed (toiletries, instructions for WiFi, fireplace, etc) and was so accommodating even with my last minute booking. Very easy to get ahold of and communicate with. Will definitely be coming back! :)

Long stay

Nice place. Very friendly owners but older place and lots of things broke while we were there 2 months. Some things replaced some not. Cooking and eating supplies minimal.

Everything you could possibly need in a beautiful place

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here a month for work. Everyday we woke and felt so lucky to be staying in such a beautifully decorated space with every amenity needed to be comfortable for a long term stay. Loved watching the snow from the big front windows and sitting by the fire at night. Our host also lives on the property and was able to help and answer questions as needed and is very friendly and has great suggestions about the area. Can easily walk to Vermont Country deli in the morning for coffee and donuts or giant cookies. The space feels like an extension of the hosts home rather than a place thrown together to rent out by the night. Great experience staying here and cannot recommend enough!

Cozy and comfortable studio

The studio was spacious and comfortable with appealing artwork and furniture. Though we did not use it, I loved that there is a working fireplace. The hosts were very welcoming to my little dog, which is particularly important to me. The booking process was smooth and communication easy. Of course the location speaks for itself....very near downtown Brattleboro as well as the beautiful countryside of Vermont and NH.

Very comfortable!

Beautiful quiet location. Very short walk to Memorial Park and the farmers market. Spacious and well stocked with all the basics. My dog and I were very happy here...he misses it already!

Great location and space

This room is great for a quick weekend stay. I went with my husband and 2 year old daughter, the space of this studio is very large. All the things in previous reviews that people have complained about have been addressed - there is plenty of lighting, bed (is sooo comfy and huge), the TV works, parking is sufficient... the furniture is outdated but who cares? You're not there to sit on the couch all day and it's not your house. Julia was more than accommodating and someone is always around to address any concerns. The location is beyond amazing, you can walk to the Vermont Country Deli and the farmer's market, and it's only a 5 min drive to downtown Brattleboro. It was a great stay and reasonably priced.

Perfect spot for a Brattleboro visit!

My wife and I spent a long weekend at the Culbertson House with our greyhound to visit family in the area. The studio is a great location, only a little over a mile into town. It is a large apartment with a comfortable king bed, a large fireplace (with plent of firewood available), and plenty of seating for guests. Julia could not have been nicer, we drove up during a nor’easter, and Julia let us in early. We had a great stay, and will definitely look to stay there again on our next visit.

Home away from home!

We came for a fur friendly family vacation. We enjoyed the spaceand the hosts very much! The accommodations were perfect; the location allied us hiking, kayaking, and cycling. We will definitely be back soon! Dani & Z

So so...

Bottom line, you get what you pay for. This was the cheapest place in the Brattleboro area at the time. Several small things need attention now are they will turn into big things later. I fixed a couple of things myself and pointed out problems to the owner. I'm not going to throw anybody under the bus as the place was not horrible. However, I strongly suggest an update of furnishings to bring the place in to the here and now. It reminded me of my Grandma's home in the 70's. The location is great and close to downtown. Caution going up to the house as the road up the hill has some bad potholes.

forget this one

The most attractive feature of this place is the price and it is not low enough for what you get. There are no screens on the windows so you can't ventilate the place without inviting the bugs in, the tv doesn't work, internet service is maddenly intermittent, the kitchen furnishings are sparse (no hot pads, no cereal bowls, no dish washing sponge/brush, etc) and equivalent in quality to Goodwill rejects, no soap in bathroom, poor lighting, etc. Surprised it met minimum requirements for vrbo listing.

Would not return

We stayed two nights in this studio. The pros: the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the fire place. Also we could have our dog with us. Cons: the studio was very dark and furnishings shabby.

Great welcome to Vermont!

We were fortunate to find Julia and David's kitty-friendly apartment in Brattleboro for our first month in Vermont. They were welcoming and friendly but also gave us plenty of privacy. The apartment was comfy and cozy and had every convenience we needed. Thanks, Julia and David!

perfect spot

Julia is great - available if you need her but otherwise very low profile. My one very minor complaint is that the kitchen - large with frig, stove, microwave etc - had only a couple of huge unattractive mugs and bowls. Has there been a problem with theft? Since breakfast is the meal most likely eaten in a b and b, why not provide 4 nice coffee mugs and cereal bowls. Also there wasn't any black tea, usually a given. Otherwise a good deal and would definitely stay there again.

Very Pleasant Stay

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at this cute studio apartment, perfect for two people. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The owner showed us around and was very accommodating. Appliances all worked well. Location is perfect for exploring Brattleboro and all the small towns in that area of Vermont; close to I-91, and just off state Rte 9. Highly recommend this property!

Great value!

The studio/cottage is an attractive and comfortable space. The location is ideal – just a few minutes from downtown Brattleboro and right next to Saturday’s glorious farmer’s market. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, etc., and the bathroom was fine, though a new mat for the floor wouldn’t be a bad thing to get. There was adequate storage space (drawers, closet), so that we could empty our suitcases – not something to take for granted! And good reading lights on both sides of the bed - a feature missing from many pricey hotels! The garden is beautiful. The Wifi worked well. The August week was unusually hot and humid, but with the window a/c, the space was comfortable. A good fan is also available. Our major reservation has to do with seating for eating – there’s no dining table inside (though there is a glass table just outside the front door), just an island with a counter that is much too high for comfortable eating. Also, the driveway has some remarkable potholes that should be filled. Since it’s shared with another property, this might not be Culbertson’s responsibility, but someone should take care of it. Julia was welcoming and very helpful – directing us, for example, to the perfect swimming hole about five miles away. Ours was a happy stay at Culbertson House.

Indeed Charming

Thanks, Julia for sharing your lovely apartment with us. We enjoyed the accommodations and the fabulous gardens! We've been to Brattleboro before but it was more fun to be in such a convenient and comfortable apartment! I can't recommend it enough!! The whole process was problem-free. Julia met us and gave us the tour and let us be (which was our preference). When we crossed paths later, she was gracious enough to talk about the house and the extensive gardens. We'll be back...

One of best vacation that I ever had

Me and my girlfriend went to this cozy place right after New Year for 3 days. Julia an her husband was very friendly and nice people. This place was really far from our NY fuss and in the heart of nature which I miss for a long time. The house is very original and even has his own great history. We enjoy every minute which we spend there. Thanks for awesome vacation.

Not quite what we expected

I envisioned a place to get away from hustle and bustle in a cozy studio. It was very close to the main road and Interstate 91, so easy to get to, but no view of VT countryside. The room was cozy nice and warm, but not particularly clean; it had a lovely fireplace, but the wood was "green" so it did not burn. The bathroom is very small, as is the shower and toilet area. The shower/tub could perhaps use a curved shower bar to give bathers a sense of a greater space.The drapes need attention, as some were falling off their strings or nails, and I would invest in a new couch, for cleanliness and comfort. The bed however was VERY comfortable and the sheets were clean. The owner was lovely, giving us a tour and some local information.

We are an international family, American/British and Russian, and have lived in Europe and the US. We are both involved in the arts. We love hosting travelers and have met people from all over the globe. We care about our property a great deal and are always tinkering and renovating, as well as maintaining our lovely flowerbeds and landscaping.

This property used to belong to the Father of American Contract Bridge, Ely Culbertson. It was his last property where he wrote books about world peace. He was a fascinating person; we'll tell you all about him when you arrive.

We loved the property the minute we saw it, nestled in the woods yet so close to everything in town. We have spent a lot of time lovingly renovating the whole house and building a spectacular flower garden that surrounds the whole property. We have flowers from spring to fall!

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

The house has advantages of both worlds: being in the forest and the same time not far from everything that the area can offer. It is quiet and private, and located next to the woods where there are extensive hiking trails.

Guest especially love the big stone fireplace! The sofa is right in front of the fireplace, perfect for a cozy evening.

Brattleboro is uniquely situated, right off I-91, only 2 hours from Boston and less than 4 hours from NYC. In the winter it's easy to get to both Mount Snow and Stratton for exciting skiing (not to mention our own little ski hill here in town where you can ski under the lights for only $5!) The area is also blessed by the presence of the Connecticut and West Rivers, providing ample swimming, fishing, and boating in the summer.

We love our little home here in Brattleboro and hope you do too!
