The Colony is a high-rise condominium overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. All units have ocean-front views and offer a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean on a large private balcony.
Sundeck with two community grills and an Oceanside outdoor pool for use during your stay.
THE SPACE
The Colony offers one of the most spacious 2BR/2BA units on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
Full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc. Serving bar between Kitchen and Dining Room, Dining Table / 6 chairs, Living Room area with Couch and Loveseat.
The Master bedroom has a King bed with large wall to wall windows offering panoramic views of the Boardwalk and Ocean, and the Guest bedroom has two Queen beds.
This spacious 2BR unit at approximately 1,200+sq ft is rated to sleep six (6) persons. Includes Towels, Linens, Dishes, Pots and Pans, all the comforts of home. The Living room and both Bedrooms have a flat screen TVs with cable.
There is a Washer / Dryer inside your unit.
Besides being a very budget friendly Oceanfront option for a family vacation, the benefits offered by this resort include the overall space for your family provided inside the units, and the outstanding location near the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier. And while this property sits right on the Boardwalk, it still has a more private and secluded feel without the crowds and noise you might find at other properties. Also, there are many great outdoor dining options within walking distance.
But please note that this is an older property. Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires more luxurious accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings in the area.
I am not trying to sound negative, because personally we enjoy this property, I just want to make sure your expectations match reality. If you have any specific questions on this, please don't hesitate to ask.

So the photos reflect the interiors of several different units you might be assigned, depending on which specific week you book. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
GUEST ACCESS
Your unit is private, but since this is a Resort Condo property, Amenities will be shared with other guests (Pool, Beach, Grill, etc).
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. If a security deposit is required, it will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.
- The Colony is professionally managed and operated. The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay. Office Hours: 9am to 5pm; Mon-Fri. Lobby / Check In Hours: 9:00am to 8pm; Sat-Sun.
- Check In time is 4:00pm and check out time is 10:00am. Please check with the resort Front Desk for any possibility of earlier unit availability and / or early use of the resort amenities during Saturday Check-In days.
- Late Check In: The Lobby Front Desk / Office is open on Saturday's from 9am to 8pm. If you arrive after those hours, you can go to the Security office and get access to your unit.
- SECURITY DEPOSIT: This property has a mandatory $300 Security deposit Authorization at Check In. This is an Authorization only and will only be charged if items are reported missing and/or broken. Please note this is not my personal policy, it is controlled by the onsite Management company.
- EXTRA GUESTS: This unit is rated to Sleep (6) six persons and occupancy limits are strictly enforced at this property. The management company may (at their sole discretion) make an allowance for a 7th person if a child younger than 12yrs of age. There will be an extra $100 per day ($700 per week) for the extra 7th person.
- Please note that once you Check In and get access to your unit, if you encounter any issues or concerns regarding Housekeeping, Maintenance, etc…please contact the Front Desk / Office IMMEDIATELY. The staff members on-site provide the best opportunity to get any concerns resolved in the fastest and most efficient manner.
- PARKING: One FREE parking pass is included with this unit, which you will receive from the Front Desk at Check In. Please ensure you display the provided parking pass in your vehicle.
- ADDITIONAL PARKING SPOT: Parking is very limited at the property. If you need parking for an additional vehicle you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk. But please be aware there are only 6 additional “extra” spots each week, and they are on a First Come / First Serve basis. The charge for these extra parking spots will be $20 per day, or $100 per week (whichever is the least expensive option for the Guest). If the extra parking spots are not available you would need to park at the City Parking Garage on 9th Street (which would be more expensive). Let me know if you think you have to have a 2nd vehicle and I can try and help coordinate the best I can. But again, please make note of this limited parking detail when planning for your trip.
- Bedding linens, including blankets, sheets, and pillows are provided. However, if have you have any favorites blankets or pillows, or if you sleep better using a certain type of pillow, it would be good to bring your own.
- Bath and Hand towels are provided for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.
- There is no daily housekeeping provided. However your unit does have it's own Washer / Dryer in the Kitchen area that is for your use only. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay you may be able to schedule it directly with the Front Desk (for an additional fee).
- Please remember beach chairs, wagons, bicycles umbrellas and beach toys are NOT allowed in the building. You can store them in your car, or bikes can be locked up at the outdoor bike rack provided.
- Each Unit will receive a "Starter Package" at Check In. Your unit will have basic supplies like 2 rolls of toilet paper, paper towels, dish / laundry detergent, etc to get you thru the first couple days of your stay. I recommend you definitely be prepared for this by bringing your own supplies in these categories based on what you feel you will need for the week (especially if there are specific brands you favor). Also don’t forget any cleaning products if you want them (cleaners, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc). There are also grocery stores conveniently located within a few minutes from the facility if you want to shop for any groceries or personal items you want during your stay.
- Pool / Beach towels are not provided. Each family should bring their own Pool / Beach towels, especially if you like the larger Beach towels.
- You should bring your own Beach Chairs / Beach Blankets / Umbrellas / Equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent beach chairs / umbrellas on the beach out in front of the facility.
SMOKING POLICY: The Colony is a smoke-free facility. If they find smoking taking place, of find a guest has smoked in the unit, elevator, stairwell, or hallways, they will assess a $500 fine.
- CHECK OUT TASKS: There are 4 main requirements that Guests would be responsible for at Check Out (please note these are not my personal rules, but are implemented by the onsite Management company to better manage weekly turnover of units)…
- All trash removed and placed in trash dumpsters
- All dishes cleaned and put away
- Refrigerator should be completely emptied
- All Linens and Towels placed in bag and put outside in hallway
- Ocean Breeze Waterpark is only about 10 minutes away from the facility.
- BIKES: If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Virginia Beach was designed with a special bike path along the Boardwalk to cater to bike riders. It's possible to use bikes as your main means of transportation during the week to travel up and down the Boardwalk, and around town. Whether you bring your own Bikes, or rent them, please remember to take your own bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.
- There is a Virginia Beach Coupon booklet available pretty much everywhere in vending type machines along Atlantic Ave, including the Front Desk / Lobby at pretty much all the properties in VB. In this booklet you can find some coupons that offer decent discounts on food, entertainment, and equipment purchases (like bike rentals if you are not able to bring your own).
- If you are interested in fishing while on vacation, the VB Fishing Pier is right next to the property.
- Pets are not permitted anywhere on or in the resort property.
- Once reservations are confirmed, you will be asked for the Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email of the Primary Guest who will check in, along with an email address to receive a personal confirmation.
