About this property

The Cabins at Rose River Farm

The cabin is over 1,100 square feet and features two bed rooms with two full baths. Each bedroom has two double beds. The living room features a domed 17 ft ceiling, leather club furniture and a jumbo flat screen TV with satellite, Free Wifi, DVD player and even an Ipod docking stereo. For more info and automated booking please email us.

Miles of Views
The cabin features a wall of windows and a big porch to capture the spectacular views of Old Rag Mountain, the Rose River Valley, and a stocked pond (bass, bluegill and trout) that is catch and release, single barbless hook only, strictly for cabin guests. There is a park style charcoal grill and a big outdoor fire pit with wood supplied.

Outdoor Activities Abound
Madison County offers an abundance of outdoor activity from hiking Old Rag Mountain and White Oak Canyon (both within 10 min of the farm) to visiting Camp Hoover and the Shenandoah National Park. There are a number of wineries in the area and many great restaurants as well. Old town Culpeper with the quaint Davis Street shopping area is 20 minutes away and Charlottesville is about a half hour drive. There are several golf courses and even a couple of shooting preserves nearby for wing shooting. We have an outfitter who can provide horses for local trail rides into the National Park leaving right from your cabin. Great Cabins!

The cabins at Rose River Farm were very nice and well done. Interesting design and very functional. The cabins were nicely decorated, well maintained and very clean. The main living area (living room/kitchen) was nicely decorated and very comfortable. There are 3 cabins that sit at the entrance to a farm. The cabin was well stocked with most necessities and about a 15 minute drive to a large supermarket. The only area for improvement is the checkout time. It is 10 am , which is early and made our departure morning rushed. Most places I have stay have a 11 or 12 checkout time. Overall, these cabins are a great option if staying in the area.

Yurt YES!!!!!

This property was in a perfect location for hiking wineries and relaxing. The yurt is beautiful and well appointed. The owner has obviously taken extra care to create a very upscale and yet cozy ambiance. The beds were very cozy. We especially loved the evening visits from bunnies and toads and a beautiful heron. Stay here!!!!!

Terrific house

Beautiful surroundings. Beautiful and well maintained home. My only issue was that the food choices are very limited. Only one restaurant and it was pretty bad for dinner (graves mountain inn). Barely edible really. Breakfast was good there though. I recommend bringing your own food and cooking At the house (be aware that the kitchen is small although very nicely equipped) or plan to drive for 20 minutes to sperryville. If it weren’t for the food issue we would come back for a more extended stay.

The Perfect Escape!

The yurt was beautiful and provided plenty of room for four adults (we appreciated the two full baths). The views were spectacular and we enjoyed sitting around the fire on the porch in the evenings. Hiking at Rose River Farm was one of the highlights of our trip! Our host Earl and his canine companion Buster Brown took care of all of our needs. Culpeper is a short drive if you want a nice dinner out. What a beautiful place to slow down and be refreshed. We will be back next year!

A much needed break

The scenery is beautiful. The cabins are top notch, fully loaded. Most important, the environment is peaceful and calm. This was a great place to unplug for a day. If you like to experience the outdoors, to sit by the fire at night and you enjoy the peaceful exuberance of mother nature, this place is a no-brainer.

Fantastic place to stay!

I love these cabins and have stayed here multiple times. Very comfortable, great views, CLEAN, with great amenities if you want to grill or cook a full meal in the kitchen after a long day of hiking. Many awesome hikes with lots of wildlife viewing very nearby, and for the fly fisherman there are several close places to fish for beautiful brook trout in the mountain streams of Shenandoah National Park.
