About this property

The Apex of Ski-In Ski-out Estates. Walk to Restaurants, Theater, Hot Tub, Game Tables!

One of the most excusive homes in Breckenridge, this ski-in ski-out estate is the closest home that can ever be built to the base of Peak 8 at Breckenridge Resort. A private, spacious, and quiet mansion...just steps from the dining, entertainment, amenities of Peak 8, and some of the finest skiing in the United States. Hop the nearby Gondola to town for mid-day cruise of Main Street shops or restaurants, adventure year round in the Peak 8 amenities, or relax in the paradise of this immaculate custom estate -- a vacation in and of itself. A Parade of Homes winner, this home is a masterpiece in architecture, luxury, entertainment, and designer finishes and decor. Soaring cathedral ceilings, sprawling gathering and entertainment areas, a kitchen that chefs dream about, ample dining seating, elevator, a private theater with stadium seating and dual subs, and enough gaming and opportunities for elation and relaxation to make you never want to leave!

The home is located in the exclusive Peak 8 Court right next to the base of Peak 8. Peak 8 is the heart of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Multiple Super Chair lifts, a selection of restaurant options, ski schools, gondola, and the home of the summer-time Epic Discovery that offers the mountain coaster, ropes course, mini golf, bungie trampoline, climbing wall, challenge course, and of course, endless hiking. There is no better match between luxury lodging and immediate access to everything amazing in Breckenridge.

The estate itself is three levels of paradise. Main level entertaining is something from a magazine: elevated flagstone entry with custom Dutch door. The entry barn-wood-wrapped elevator makes the up or down luggage haul easy. Step down from the entryway to barnwood floors that open to a massive entertaining area: enormous south and east facing glass, ornate stone fireplace, hammered steel and wood beams, wraparound seating, and a Sonos in-home sound system. The kitchen is a chef's paradise: Three fridges, endless custom cabinetry, chef's pantry, ample prep space, and all high-end appliances. A luxury gas grill waits on a private patio right off the kitchen for the night of steaks and kabobs. Seating abounds when the whole group is together, between the built-in corner booth with TV, cascading bar seating, or formal dining for 10 at the custom table made in Patagonia. The main floor opens to south sun over an exquisite deck/patio area. Wrap around seating surrounds a custom gas firepit for the mild season or sun-soaked hours of the day.

The lower level is an entertainment paradise. A gorgeous hotel-lounge style bar will draw the group's mixologist for that favorite end-of-day cocktail or glass of wine. A menu of gaming options make for hours of fun and competition: pool table, ping pong, Super Chex Hockey game, and even a ski-cable pull up bar (losers have to do 10 pull ups ;-). If the day on the slopes have you worn past the point of further competition, then either crash on the leather lounger by the fireplace to watch the game, meander out the patio door to the luxury private hot tub for a soak of the ski legs, or cue up the favorite family movie in the private built-in theater complete with custom cork flooring, 12 recliners in theater seating, specialty acoustics, and dual subs. YES PLEASE! Around the corner of this entertainment paradise is "the ski corner": A fully heated and enclosed ski prep area. Custom boot dryer rack (enough for everyone's boots); fifteen (15!) custom-built ski lockers, washer and dryer and dedicated full bathroom and glass-surround shower.

Six unique and luxurious rooms provide ample sleeping quarters wrapped in opulent touches and finishes...ALL OF THEM boasting flat screens, and their own luxury baths. Two Primary suites (one main floor and one upstairs) have king beds wrapped in luxury linens, and oversized 5 piece baths including stand-alone soaking tubs. Upstairs even has a fireplace right next to the custom copper tub! Three additional queen-bed rooms surround a central lounge area with seating and flat screen. The lower level shows off a massive bunk room with four (yes 4) queen beds tucked into a hammered oak infrastructure.

Custom designed to reflect the Colorado mountain mining heritage, the home shows off intricate design detail and incorporation of the mining theme throughout. Faux mine shafts inside and out, a mine shaft style custom stair case. Even re-purposed mine car rails and hammered steel accents! The home offers two full laundry rooms, heated garages for up to three cars and three parking spaces in front of the garage (home allows 6 cars total).

The local, luxury management group brings the final touches of opulence, convenience, and relaxation. Warm personal check ins and a "grand tour" ensure the vacation enjoyment and familiarity with the home starts as soon as you arrive. Bamboo sheets, local coffee, pillow chocolates, top end service and concierge services marry a luxury experience with the luxury estate. Vacations are too rare. Vacation extravaganzas are extra rare. Life is short. Go all in. Make your visit to the Colorado Mountains one for the books. Come stay with us at "A MineShaft" at Breckenridge!

Great location at the top of the mountain

Our ski chalet stay was a great overall. The location was great – a 200' walk to the slopes – and the property manager was very responsive. Comfortable bedding and plenty of hot water were appreciated. The Sonos system was nice. The pool table was a hit, but needs new felt.On the downside, the theater's tech was ancient; the iPad controlling it ran iOS 12, making streaming impossible. The split Wi-Fi (owner/guest) prevented us from even Airplaying. Kitchen sinks took forever to get hot, and both dishwashers and the stovetop were broken. The kitchen also lacked basic cooking supplies. The elevator was initially out of order, and while reset, we were wary of using it. The hot tub, though showing 104 degrees, didn't feel that warm. While the location and sleeping arrangements were good, the outdated tech, broken appliances, and other issues detracted from the experience. With some updates, this chalet could be exceptional, but it needs some updates.
