The next to the last house on the Colorado River, and very close to the beach and jetty pier. Enjoy fishing on our pier, and a night spot light provides good fishing at night, especially sand trout during the summer. It is fully furnished with all kitchen utensils, and linens and towels are provided. We have free high speed Starlink satellite internet access (new for 2022), Dish network, and a washer and dryer is available for your convenience. In front of the house is a creek which runs out to East Matgorda, and is perfect for kayakers, and a great place to do some crabbing, also.

Great
After the previous guest left a pile of shrimp by the bbq pit, manager got it cleaned right away. No issues at all after that.
We were able to catch plenty of bait directly across the road from the house. Literally threw the net a couple of times and had enough mullet, shrimp and croakers to fish for hours.
Nice place to stay, fairly clean. Living room lights need a little work. Kitchen, dining room a/c not the best. But rest are great. Overall for the price. Good place to stay. Good fishing.
Everything as advertised! Fishing was decent right off the dock despite very windy conditions. Quiet and calm getaway. Would rent again without hesitation.

Could do better
My family had a good time fishing. My first experience getting there was not the best it was not very clean there were dead roaches, dusty and dirty dishes. A other thing that I did not like was that 2 homes down there was a woman that sat there both days that we were there just staring at us that made my family very uncomfortable I just wish we had a bit more of privacy.
An overall great stay at the cabin. It was a new experience for my cousin and his wife so it was a bonus to catch very good trout in East Matagorda Bay and all the sand trout off the dock at the cabin. So without saying they are ready for another trip.

Great Fishing Cabin!!!
This cabin is located near the end of the houses on the Colorado, so that was nice. One house after it then just waterway. Very easy to find.
It is a old fishing cabin, so don't expect it to be fancy. There are 2 small bedrooms (no closets or place for clothes), a dining/kitchen area and a living room area. Washer and dryer. Sheets, towels, pots/pans, etc. Remember older cabin.
Nice large fridge - which should be marked "NO BAIT" because someone must have put bait in this nice fridge and it smelled like it. We kept ours in a cooler downstairs.
Great fishing!!! Deck is nice, covered patio for coolers, fishing equipment, etc. Great cleaning station!!! A plus for sure.
Suggestions:
1. Light over cleaning station didn't work. Would have helped since we were night fishing.
2. Towels - suggest some new ones - one washrag had holes all in it. There were only three and we are washrag people and stayed 3 days with 2 people.
3. Would be nice to have a small area to lock up fishing equipment.
4. Shower head could be replaced so water comes out well.
5. No lighting upstairs deck outside. Hard to see walking around out there.
Overall, a nice trip and great fishing. We caught a couple reds, lots of catfish, a few trout - no keepers and a weird frog fish.
Sunset was absolutely gorgeous!!! Across the river we saw coyotes. And dolphins swimming around. Lots of birds!! This is the 4th time this year we have stayed in this area to fish and we love it!!!
We love staying at this house. Wonderful place to fish, kick back and relax, beautiful sunset and sunrise. Close to the beach. Great fishing.! Nice kitchen set up. Wonderful dock. Set up for plenty of room for people to spread out.
This house was phenomenal. Very clean and comfortable. For a coastal home we were amazed that there were technically no spiders or bugs running the inside.
We would definitely be back.
One suggestion. Water softener and charcoal filter. But place is awesome.
We had a great time. Kayaked (weather not great). Location for kayaking is great. Fished off pier. Cooked dinner. Had everything we needed. Great stay. We will be back
Another great stay. Fishing was great. Accommodations were comfy. Love this spot. Caught a HUGE drum as well as variety of other fish. Look forward to my next opportunity to visit.

Wonderful little house and great people to deal with.
Absolutely Amazing Property !!!! I will rent this property again for sure .
The house was more than we expected, the fishing was fantastic . I will rent this property again it’s location was perfect. I am so glad we found this property it’s worth every penny.
HEY ITS GREAT if you have no boat and are planning on fishing mostly from the dock you will do very well, much better if the tide is rising . However when the tide is going out you will get your lines wrapped over the new piling.. the new house nxt door built a boat shed that sticks way out . SO after you get that under control, fish fast you can catch a bunch of fish
At nighttime it was just like a Indianola catching a mix of sand and specs
The house itself is old, quaint, new appliances zero closets but who comes here to hang clothes fish fish fish,, and watch yur step going into the kitchen.
