Charming Carolina Cottage Nestled in Blue Ridge Mtns Sapphire, Toxaway, Cashiers

Wonderful 3 Bedroom 2 Bath Cottage retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina about an hour and change from the Clemson area of South Carolina close to Sapphire Valley, Lake Toxaway, and Cashiers. Place is wonderfully furnished with tree views throughout, including at the Bay Window, personally my favorite spot in the cottage. Close to hiking, winter skiing/summer tiptoes, golfing, and hunting, and nice restaurants and in Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and Cashiers, where you can also enjoy wonderful shopping.

We are fortunate the the cottage survived the hurricane without damage. The roads are open, and power has been restored. See photos #4 and #5 of house and yard, taken after the hurricane...they look good as ever!

Please know that I am not one to nickel and dime guests with unexpected extra fees. The only added charges are the unavoidable taxes and VRBO charges. Cleaning is included in your stay. There are no extra charges for cleaning, pets, processing, or anything else.

Perfect cozy cabin for our holiday

Wonderful Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage! Ross was an excellent host and communicated very well. We loved the fire pit! The road that leads to the cottage is a one lane gravel road but the location was very peaceful!

Great location

We had a great stay and really loved the central location to Nantahala NF and DuPont SF. Tons of hiking trails and fantastic restaurants nearby. The cabin is in a quiet area and we enjoyed seeing the wildlife on the property every day. Ross is a great host and always ready to help if you need anything.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin was nice and clean. Close to many beautiful waterfalls in the area. The only thing of note is that the "bunk" in the kids room is just an overhead area with a sleeping bag to sleep in. No mattress and not big enough for an adult.

Great getaway!!!

We had a great stay. The house was very nice and updated like new. All new furniture and appliances. In a secluded area but not far from local businesses, restaurants,etc. Ross was a great host and easy to get up with if need be. Anyone should be very satisfied with this property!!

Family winter vacation

We stayed with 2 kids and really enjoyed our stay! The house is spacious and everything is new. We went tubing, to the waterfalls and on hikes. The host, Ross was very attentive and helpful. Easy check in too!

No heat and minus a bed

Less than 24 hours before we were to check in, the host informed us there was no heat in the bedrooms so he had supplied space heaters for the three rooms. With two children and a dog, unsatisfactory solution. Upon arrival, one bed short, place only slept 5, advertised to sleep 6. Unacceptable. Host also failed to mention the extensive construction at the rear of the house and the view into mounds of dirt. Front yard was useable after you went around the dirt in the yard. The missing bed was the final straw and I cancelled the stay immediately for the rest of the week. We are being refunded some money.This will be a very nice house if and when the construction is completed, heat is restored and the proper beds are supplied. One bright thing, a new refrigerator/freezer in the updated kitchen. But we really didn’t need a refrigerator as the house was cold enough, even with the heat source in the living room turned up the 80!,

Fantastic getaway in the NC mountains

We had an extended stay to get away from the FL summer heat. This house was perfect. It is clean, well-appointed, an comfortable. The yard out front is beautiful with trees, an open space for walking dogs, and a fire pit (didn't use the fire pit, but I suspect it is great in the cooler months). We saw a deer in the front yard and a fox in the back. The place is recently remodeled and the kitchen is especially nice. The host/owner is very responsive to every question. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Quiet Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage in Sapphire. It was nestled in a quiet location, just off the main highway, providing easy access to all activities in the Sapphire/Cashiers area. Property was clean, pet friendly, offered basic necessities, and has a great outdoor space with privacy and fire pit. Would recommend upgrading some of the bedding and adding an outdoor grill. But,not a deal breaker for this well priced property!

Ross is great for being so welcoming! We got in late, my family really enjoyed staying there, and we’d book again. Super close to Sapphire skiing which is the main reason for our visit. There’s a lot to do within ten minutes of the lodge. Just some minor cleaning issues, but nothing major. Thankful for not having to pay those crazy cleaning fees. Thank you Ross!

An old house located in a remote wooded area. There is a spacious yard to sit, relax and soak in the sounds and smells of the forest. Its isolated and you will need to drive somewhere else for hiking or stores or resturants. There was a open bag of trash in the dining room floor when we arrived. It was smelly and we had to air it out on the first day by opening windows that dont have screens. Kitchen and bathroom are newly renovated and very nice. The rest is old. Linens were old and uncomfortable. If we werent so remote, we would have purcashed some new sheets ourselves.

Kitchen needs attention

Our overall experience was pleasant. However the kitchen needed some attention. The faucet was missing the head so if not careful turning on you could easily get water everywhere. Even though the refrigerator visually looked clean it reeked of fish. Lastly a butcher's block with additional cutting knifes could be useful other than just one that was provided.

While this is a new vacation rental, I had a five star lakefront vacation lakefront condo in northern Idaho before moving to the Carolinas. I received high marks for the location, furnishings, and communication.

I just love it here! It is secluded in the forest but so much nearby to enjoy, and the neighbors are terrific.
