Great place for families with adult children

We loved celebrating Mom/Grandma’s 80th birthday. We have 17, 19 , 21, and 22 year old kids. This house is well set up for many adults. We had enough space to relax and gather. We loved the view, hot tub, and amazing deck/furniture!

Beautiful place to unwind

The family had a sweet reunion in this large home. It was equipped with all we needed, especially the peddle boat... That was the biggest hit!

Great Location on Whidbey

7 teens and adults in our party, with more than enough bedrooms! Beautiful view - including from the hot tub - and well-equipped kitchen. Great location, with short drives to downtown Freeland (for grocery shopping, Mexican, and ice cream), Mutiny Bay, Double Bluff Beach, Goss Lake, and the Trustland Trails. And a longer but very reasonable drive to Ebey's Landing. Big screen TV for the Olympics and pool table a definite bonus! And a nice big table for us all, for eating meals and game playing together.

Perfect Place for anFamily Reunion

My husband, 9 year old twins, parents and in laws stayed at this beautiful house for a week and it was magical. The kitchen is well stocked and the dining room table is long and had seating for 10. There are 2 living/family rooms on the top floor and downstairs- each with large sectionals and more than enough seating for 7 people. The sectionals are so comfortable! The upstairs views of the sound are so beautiful. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. Each bedroom has a king bed and lovely decor. One note- there is just 1 full bathroom on the first floor for these 3 bedrooms. There is another bedroom downstairs w/a king bed plus a kids room (bunk beds - with a double bed in one room) and another speaprate bedroom with perhaps a double bed. This last double bed room has a small full en-suite bathroom (with a fantastic large shower). And then there is another larger bathroom on this downstairs floor. This was perfect for our family! The grandparents had the upstairs bedrooms and bath. And my husband and I were in the downstairs bedrooms with the kids. All the adults had hotel quality king beds and the kids were thrilled with the bunks. The downstairs floor has toys, a tv with a large sectional, pool table and a round glass table for the kids to play at/draw. So, the kids could spread out and in the playroom. And we kept the upstairs family room for adult/family time. Plenty of space to spread out. The long deck has two large patio tables, chaise lounges, and so much seating. Coffee together each morning listening to the bird song and wine/cocktails each night chatting as the sun set on this deck. There is a what looks likes a brand new hot tub which my husband and I relaxed in after long bike rides during our stay. Also, a propane fire pit! It is under the deck for cover. A dual Keurig coffee maker (single serve and a pot), a wine refrigerator, grill, lots of pantry space....the list goes on. We had easy access to the beach (even the grandparents were fine on the stairs down). We took the paddle boat out and saw 4 seals and 2 eagles every day in the bay, herons, sea stars, fish- plus beach combing for sea glass and shells - so much to do. Easy bike rides to Langley and Freeland. Hikes at Ebey Landing (bluff trails), Fort Casey and Deception Pass. At Langley, we saw a humpback whale and numerous Orca whales. Truly, we could not have had a more exquisite stay. Thank you!!!!

Everything worked! Two suggestions below.

A great property, accurately described. Two improvement suggestions are: the flue doesn't draw very well in the fireplace and should be checked. Owner might want to repave driveway (on the hill) as it seems to be falling apart.

Loved Harbor Retreat

Perfect house for a large group. The furniture is different than the photo - it’s a big sectional that could accommodate our entire group and new big tv over the fireplace. We loved it. The deck is fabulous. Nice deck tables that could seat our group overlooking the water. Everyone loved the hot tub and pool table. Gina was great, thank you.

Wonderful Whidbey Home

The home was perfect for our family trip. We were on the island for a wedding and shared the home with extended family, We made great use of the deck and the views were spectacular! The beds were comfortable and loved that all the adults had a King sized bed!. Having a washer and dryer was a nice amenity. There was plenty of extra bedding as well as towels. We also enjoyed the hot tub! The location was perfect as the wedding was in Freeland and we had relatives also staying in Langley. And just a short drive to the ferry! We drove up to Anacotes for a day and did a whale watching tour with Mystic Sea charters! LOVED IT! We saw over 50 whales! We also enjoyed Deception pass and Ebey Bay and the lighthouse, Our trip to Whidbey Island was very enjoyable! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home! We hope to make a trip back to the island someday soon!

Great Gathering Place

We are a group of five couples who have been friends for over fifty years. This was the perfect venure to gather, enjoy each other, and this marvelous location. The house was perfect with room for all of us to sleep comfortably in those fantastic beds! We spent many hours gathered around the huge dining table, eating, drinking and rehashing the good old days. The view was spectacular. The lovely deck near the water would make a lovely spot for a wedding. While the weather was cool, we did catch a few quick spots of sun on the water. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to sit on that large open deck on a warm, summer's day. Thank you!!

Supplemental Review to Johnny Canuck

Pros: -lots of comfy king sized beds and big closets -awesome view -great kitchen island with eating bar -stone beach for kids to play on at low tide -covered, outdoor hottub -big deck which would be amazing in the summer -big yard with swing & covered play area -downstairs living/game room was perfect for the kids -nice walk to town for groceries -crockpot available although not listed in appliances -lots of utensils, pots/pans, large bowls available for cooking/baking -wood burning fire places -melodic laundry beside kitchen -did I mention the awesome view? Cons or suggestions: -too little fridge & too much freezer for a 4-family vacation (maybe add a 2nd fridge in the laundry room or turn the temperature down on the freezer size & use as a fridge?) -water took FOREVER to warm up at taps -dishwasher very slow and not the greatest for cleaning -all the dishes matched so, with 14 people, it was impossible to determine who's drink/plate/bowl was whose so we ended up washing a lot more than we needed to. Maybe throw in some odd-ball dishes. -no recycling/composting/garburator so EVERYTHING had to go in the waste. -couldn't figure out trash compactor -could use some storage containers for left-overs -had to provide own tissues, toilet-paper, paper-towels & napkins -rooms extrememly dark at night > could use some night lights for those late-night bathroom trips and, OH!, the hip bruises from the huge bed-posts at night too! With 8 adults & 6 kids, we fit tightly, but had a great time! We'd definitely come back!

Great for Families

We booked over Christmas and New Year's; this home is one of the best ones we've stayed at. We're 4 families with children and have been vacationing together for 12 years. Every year, we find a new cabin/cottage to stay at and spend holidays together. This home is well maintained, has all the amenities you could need (fireplace, hot tub, BBQ, games room for the kids) and a great view and comfortable decor that defines what a cosy vacation home should be. If you need a 6 bedroom home, this is it. They even had a regular maintenance crew come by periodically to take the garbage out and check if everything is ok. The only things that could be improved are a few more kitchen items like extra garbage bags, dishwashing soap and toilet paper so we wouldn't have to buy them. But these are minor as there's a great Payless foods about 2 miles away that has everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
