The property features a pool (open mid-May through September), tennis court with lines & nets for two pickleball courts, a basketball hoop, outdoor showers, a private beach at low tide, a private pier and platform, hammocks, Adirondack chairs, and a large screened porch.

The space
Welcome to our home away from home. We hope this one-of-a-kind place will be the setting for wonderful memories that last a lifetime. Our family has been making memories here since 1977! Enjoy views of the Chesapeake Bay on a spectacular 18 acres: Bay Cliff has over 600 feet of waterfront. There are enough beds for 40 people, so if you have a big group, you will be plenty comfortable. The magical main house, guest house, and barn studio have a total of 13 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms, and 2 half bathrooms. Part of Bay Cliff’s charm is that she’s a bit quirky. You would be, too, if you were 125 years old. As you will see, the property features a swimming pool, tennis court with two pickleball courts (and nets), a basketball hoop, two outdoor showers, a private beach (at low-tide), a private pier and platform, a large screened porch, a waterfront patio, and a 5-minute stroll to the largest public beach in Kent County. Enjoy water activities, such as swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing/crabbing, and even outdoor showering! Equally fun, take advantage of the land activities, such as tennis, pickleball, basketball, croquet, bocce, bald-eagle watching, hammock snoozing, and billiards. End your days of fun on the 11 Adirondack chairs taking in the breathtaking view and watching stunning sunsets over the Bay. Kent County and the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay offer a wealth of activities, adventures, and a rich history in their own right.

We LOVED this place!!!

What an incredible property for a gathering with your people. The house was exactly as described, and the quality of the beds, amenities, activities, and grounds was even better than expected. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating with any questions we had. If you love being active, this property is perfect for folks who love a variety of sports and leisure. Yet it also is so serene waking up and being right on the coast of the bay. Cannot recommend this gorgeous home enough!

Beautiful Serene Property & Fun!

Our Multi-Generational Family of 14 had an amazing vacation here! It was so pleasant spending time on the porch with cocktails, enjoying the lovely water views, going to search for sea-glass on the sand below, playing tennis, swimming in the pool, croquet and more! Chestertown had more to offer...cute historic village and we loved the delightful ice-cream and fresh vegetables at the farm nearby. This lovely spot is clean, comfortable and worth a visit!

Family vacation

We were amazed at the beautiful property, amenities and wildlife (mostly birds like eagles, hawks, heron, etc). Our family enjoyed the beautiful pool, pickle ball/ tennis court and all the yard games. Our kids went fishing and kayaking too! Everyone had a great time. We highly recommend this property if you have a large family. Lots to do or just lounge and marvel at the views!

This home has been in our family for a very long time. My siblings and I own the home now and it's never been rented before ~ we are excited to share this special place with others!

Why they chose this property

The main house is an old 1925 Colonial home that has been expanded to accommodate our growing family over the years. The setting is pretty spectacular and during the summer months, there is plenty to do including tennis, pickle ball, swimming in the pool and in the Bay, kayaking, reading in the hammock and on the porch, billiards and other games! It's a paradise for family gatherings!

What makes this property unique

The setting of this property is dramatic - as you enter the long tree-lined driveway in the sleepy town of Betterton, you arrive at a spectacular setting of an expansive lawn that sprawls across a cliff overlooking the Chesapeake Bay! There are stairs down to the bay with a platform at the bottom - a lovely spot for morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening!
