Gorgeous all around

Ia orana. From pickup at the dock by the local hosts to memorable dinners along the water line, we had a wonderful time. Christoph and Genoov are wonderful local hosts. The extra touches they add to the bungalow before you arrive are so appreciated. Maururua.

What a beautiful bungalow and spectacular setting. This property is very well run. The local team is par excellence's . Super relaxing, comfortable and well stocked for our stay. It doesn’t get better

From the personal greeting with leis, to the delicious fruit basket and cold beverages in the fridge, our stay here was top notch. The beds and pillows were comfortable, air conditioning and fans a huge plus, plush towels, spotless throughout, use of bikes, kayaks and snorkel gear another huge plus, beautiful decor and of course the amazing views made this one of the best places imaginable. Would love to stay again some day.

More Beautiful than the Photos - awesome home!!

This home is far more beautiful than the photos - it's really 5 star and everything detail is thought of.Sandrine and Willer met us at the ferry with the car with lays (a necklace of flowers), they drove us to the home and explained everything. This home is stunning, from the view, to the french press, from the sheets and bedding, to the kitchen wear and bathroom with all the supplies you could need. There was beer, wine and a fantastic bowl of fruit. I didn't want to leave this gorgeous home and I never got bitten by mosquitoes there because the ocean breeze is wonderful. This view from the balcony is simply stunning, you can see the tiny airport strip across the water.I love this home, stunning design and the host managers were a lovely couple too!

The view of the lagoon is amazing from the veranda!

This is a beautiful property, completely equipped and elegantly decorated. We found the calm we were looking for! All the logistics were seamless. Having the option to rent the car at a great price was crucial, since the location of this property is always from the main town .

Beautiful bungalow in quiet part of island

We really enjoyed our six night stay in this beautiful bungalow. The view is amazing, the bungalow’s decor and amenities super nice. We are small people, so unfortunately the bicycles were too large, as was the man’s snorkel fins. We loved using the inflatable kayak for exploration. We shopped at Chin Lee and saved some $ by preparing a few meals in the beautiful kitchen. Renting the bungalow’s car is essential for getting around the island and south to Matira Beach. Saint James Restaurant is a must-reserve visit and special treat - the owner, Antonio/Anthony, is amazing. Thanks to Christophe and Ginu for showing us how everything worked, and for pick-up and drop off at the Vaipete dock. We made wonderful memories here and are sad to leave.

Beautiful!

If you want to relax with an amazing view in a beautiful bungalow, this is the place. The Bungalow is very private and away from the crowds. This was the last place we stayed on our trip to French Polynesia and it could not have been more perfect. The property was spotless and Christophe and Ginou were very helpful with recommendations. Car is recommended.

Unbelievable views, quiet/peaceful end of the island!

This rental exceeded our expectations! Extremely well kept, clean and has everything you need for a great vacation! Everything was smooth, from pick up, to check in and sadly, checking out. It is located on the quiet end of the island, so the rental car was needed to get to town. We liked having it quiet so we could enjoy the beauty of Bora Bora. The kitchen set up is perfect for cooking and we preferred it rather than going to restaurants (if you are vegetarian, restaurants do not offer many choices). The hill is a bit steep to take the kayaks and paddle board out, but still worth it. Overall, we would recommend this rental to everyone and will definitely return in the future.

Fantastic Stay

My wife and I stayed at the Bora Bora Bungalow for 5 nights and loved every minute! View and setting is fantastic... the host are great. We own/design luxury botique hotels and can attest to the highest level in esthetic, quality and design details! The home is exactly as advertised and the quality of bedding, linens, dish wear, appliances, A/C and amenities were exceptionally curated and of the highest quality. Everything was wonderful. Note: you do need a car, period. There really isn't anything like markets, restaurants etc, that is within walking distance. The car the owners provide was terrific and we highly recommend that you rent their car if available. This was our sixth visit to Bora Bora and this home is truly the absolute best vacation rental accommodation on the Island...we loved it and will return!

One of our best vacations ever!

We absolutely loved this property! The views from the balcony were mesmerizing...we could not get enough of just being out there for every morning, lunch, and sunset. Christophe and Ginou were amazing local hosts who took the most excellent care of us, as well as keeping the property in pristine condition. It is like a high-end hotel. We are grateful for our time here, we have no complaints, and we will be back again! Thank you for one of our best vacations ever! Steve

Home away from Home!

There is nothing negative to say about this house. It's the perfect place to stay in Bora Bora....First Class all the way. We have visited this beautiful island for the last 5 years and have rented another home on previous trips but this one is definitely superior. Everything flowed smoothly from Arrival to departure. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The local host was helpful for everything we needed and easy to work with. The car is absolutely necessary for getting around the island, was super clean and well cared for. The house is spotless and updated with everything you need (just as the pictures show). The bed is super comfortable and our favorite moments were sitting on the deck enjoying the fabulous view! We shall return!

Lovely week in a fabulous villa

We stayed a week in the bungalow, and found it extremely comfortable, everything is top notch, and pictures are all correct. I found the lighting switches fairly confusing, but hey that’s me. The views are spectacular. The car is a must, as too far to walk to any shops or restaurants. We went to the beach virtually everyday, it was great. We hired a boat from La Plage, which was also worthwhile, but I would advise hiring the pontoon boat rather than the small one, it’s only 3000 francs more, which we had. The small boat was 17000 francs for the morning. We ate at st james and was really good. The only downside was the walk up the hill, it is very steep and incredibly hot, my calves ached for days at first, not used to that many stairs, we were told by Ed about the closure of the driveway and given a partial refund, so it was not a surprise. Hopefully the driveway will be open very soon for other guests, because of this we could not use any of the toys, like bikes, kayaks or paddle boards, I would never have been able to carry them down and back up the stairs, which is a great shame. I would thoroughly recommend staying here, it is the best on the island, and if we return we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Ed for letting us stay in your amazing bungalow and a special thanks to your Bora Bora hosts for their lovely welcome and the help on our arrival with our bags.

Bungalow in Paradise!

We loved this place! It was modern and chic with with everything we needed for a visit to paradise! The views are amazing. We rented their car which I would recommend as it made getting around very convenient. The bed very comfortable! The TV is smart so we were able to cast our downloaded Netflix from our tablet easily. Not that we watched a lot of Netflix but at least we were able to do so! Kitchen fully stocked and modern. The hosts picked us up from the airport and were very helpful and easy to reach although we didn't really need them! Great vacation!

Spectacular

Our expectations were exceeded during our stay at Moana Bungalow. The view is captivating and always changing. We found peace by watching the weather come across the water and tourists enjoying their island excursions by boat. We cooked, relaxed, swam and biked. Everything we needed was provided for us. Staying in a private residence as opposed to staying in a resort was our perfect form of bliss. You will not be disappointed by booking your vacation at Moana Bungalow.

Not the Bora Bora dream vacation

Delayed writing this review for several weeks in case my post vacation opinion softened or I just got over how poor our stay was. I am normally a very easy going person; however our experience here was exceptionally disappointing and NOT the Tahiti we dreamed about. For the price (most expensive thing this middle class couple has ever booked) we expected a gorgeous house, beautiful views, and a great lanai to just soak in the sounds and sights of paradise. Here's more details on our experience: House - 5 - the bungalow is exceptionally nice and wonderfully stocked and furnished. The local hosts arrived on time and greeted us warmly. The beach chairs we counted were broken/not avail; however, the rest of the bikes, kayak, SUPs, all worked great. Lanai - 4 - while gorgeous views and large, the #1 reason we booked this property, the main road around the island is directly below the unit. While certainly not heavy traffic compared to mainland US, it was rarely ever peaceful for more than 30 seconds....as a car (and many motorcycles and scooters) were always nearby. Location - 4 - While only indirectly related to this property, all walks from the house found garbage everywhere and stray/loose dogs. Additionally, we found this location to be on the totally wrong side of the island. If you want to visit and be a local...this location is great, if you want to be near the beach (Matiri) and good restaurants, we found ourselves constantly driving. Owner/Service - 2 - lastly, our experience was exceptionally disappointing and honestly, the key factor in our review. During our stay, the road and drainage system was being completely redone right below the lanai, something scheduled/known and working its way around the island. For 4 of our 6 days (except weekend) tractors, bull dozers, scrapers, generators, dump trucks, heavy equipment worked from 7am to 4pm. This made the house and lanai completely useless. After numerous emails, which Ed was responsive to, the best he could offer was ''sorry." When the hosts gave us dust covers for the lanai furniture upon our arrival, and they made sure to instruct us to use them, we should have figured out that dirt/noise was coming. Amazing, while we deserved a huge discount since the house was essentially not usable much of the time, we weren't even offered free drinks at a local bar or anything. Demonstrated care would have gone a long way here.

A Trip to Paradise

We have returned from our 2 week stay in Paradise, also known as Bora Bora. Ed and Joanne's home was everything we hoped for and more. It is exactly as pictured. The thought and attention to detail show that this is their home in Bora Bora. Our welcome by Ginou and Christophe made us feel very special. The leis were beautiful and the smell was wonderful. The orientation to the house was complete and left nothing unexplained although the stove puzzled me the first time I used it. The manuals for everything were available and made everything easy to use. We had chosen to use the car that was available. This decision was a wise one as we used it to see the island, going to Chin Lee's and to the beach in Matira. One of the best things we did was to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The view was spectacular! The color of the water was never the same and the activity on the lagoon changed from day to day. If you are planning a trip to Bora Bora, we would highly recommend renting this home. It is beautiful. If we return to Bora Bora, we will certainly book this bungalow again. The advice from Ed, when we spoke to him before we went, helped us decide where we would eat out and what activities we would not miss out on. Usually when on holiday, I am ready to return home as we near the end of it. This time, I would have been quite contented to delay returning home. Thank you Ed and Joanne for letting us share your piece of Paradise.

Incredible bungalow

We had a terrific stay at this incredible bungalow. Christophe and Ginou were terrific and helped orient us upon arrival. The interior of the bungalow is exquisite and incredibly comfortable in every way. There was also a big, lovely bowl of fruit and some beverages in the fridge. This was a welcome addition because we had a hard time finding the same fruit at the market. The highlight of our stay was discovering Ed's great two man kayak and venturing across the lagoon to small motus for snorkeling. We've never experienced snorkeling this incredible. The only downside was the road construction going on just below the bungalow. It was quite noisy and dusty and not the relaxing veranda we would have liked, but this was just unfortunate timing on our part. However, even without the construction, the road is somewhat noisy with motorbike and auto traffic. It was a wonderful vacation and I'm very happy we stayed here.

This was our second trip , we enjoyed the private living over a hotel.

We enjoyed the car rental also it allowed us to tour the island and look on our own. The home was beautiful and comfortable, we enjoyed cooking and enjoying our nights on the patio. We didn't swim down below wasn't so inviting. Went to Matira Beach enjoyed. You can also go to hotels like The Beach spent day had lunch great snorkeling. Our host that met us knew little English. So we spoke to their niece a couple of times. Had a little trouble learning how to work things but figured it out. Not for the weak, lots of climbing and walking up and down . When going down to Laundry room can be dangerous, no handrail and can be slippery. What was great when we arrived their was fresh fruit, wine, beer on the refrigerator. We actually took our own beverages. But the odd thing is when we were leaving Christopher the host kept asking us if we left the wine in refrigerator we thought that was odd. But we told him we pretty much left everything that was in refrigerstor plus more. Boating a must to do call La Plage, they are on Matira Beach . It was great, just the two of us , go to see Corral and the 100's of fish and stingersys. Great snorkeling . Jet Sking the best call Moana Adventure ask for Nicole to be your guide 2 hours of fun. Can't wait to go back we love it there people are warm and loving. Mostly French is spoken. I would stay at Condo 100% again.

A five star property without the resort

This is a recently remolded single bedroom house in a complex called the "Condominiums" that sits on the mountain side above the road overlooking the lagoon. The photos of the house are spot on and the view is spectacular. We spent a ton of time on the deck and remained dry and comfortable even during the rain. There are 2 Specialized hybrid street bicycles, 2 stand-up paddle boards (SUPs), a washer and dryer and a monster air conditioner! We couldn't have been more pleased. This might be one of the nicest properties on the island. The rental car available at the property meant never having to wait for a ride on a spontaneous outing. The hosts met us at the ferry, escorted us to the house, gave us the run-through, left their phone numbers and made themselves available as needed. The information books at the house provided everything we needed to know. Some things to be aware of. The house sits above the only real road on the island and there are plenty of vehicles on the island that don't know what a muffler is. The driveway is really steep and it is about 100 stairs up from the roadway. There are roosters everywhere (including the resorts we are told). We didn't partake in the SUP's but it could be a chore to get them up and down. There is not a significant beach here but there is a picnic bench that is on the water. I gather it's not safe to leave things unattended here as one of the residents was nice enough to warn us and held on to our bag when we were in the water. The property is 10 minutes by car to town and 15 to the nicest public beach. This was exactly what we wanted and provided the perfect non-resort experience we were looking for. If your not looking to be at a resort so that you can experience the island we highly recommend this very private house!
