Rustic and peaceful

A wonderful place to enjoy the Adirondacks. Comfortable and cozy and tucked in the woods. Yet accessible to Inlet and Old Forge for shops and restaurants. Close to many trails and mountains to hike.

Peaceful hideaway

A comfortable and homey Adirondacks style house . Space for our family of 8. Enjoyed the daily visits of the hummingbirds. Fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare most of our meals right there.

Great home base in for outdoor adventure in ADK

Property was roomy, beds comfortable and plenty of hot water for showers. Lack of closet space made it hard to put clothes away. Kitchen worked for us as we brought easy to heat and eat meals with us. Bathroom upstairs could benefit from some towel bars. Some areas were dusty. Overall, this property met our needs. We didn't have time to use the downstairs game room but it looked like fun.

Property was exactly as described.

Spent a weekend at this cabin. Couples get away. 6 adults. The accommodations were perfect and we were very happy with the location and the ease of being here. Never wanted for a thing including a well stocked kitchen and plenty of wood for the fire. Beds were very comfortable. Only negative is we visited in the cold weather and could not enjoy the beautiful screened in porch. Looking forward to a return trip in the fall. Enjoyed a great dinner at The Red Dig Tavern in Inlet and visiting Old Forge. Being "city" folk we loved watching the snowmobile traffic going up and down the road. Highly recommend this property. Had a perfect week end.

Black Bear Crossing - August 2022

The cabin was very nice - very clean, plenty of room, and nicely decorated. Screened in porch was the best!! It was evident that the owners take pride in their property and want their guests to feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. Proximity to Inlet and other places really good. Host very friendly and prompt with communication and we were provided with everything we needed. We did lose power during a stormy time (along with Inlet and Old Forge) for about 6 hours. Candles and oil lamps came in handy, but water would not run without the electricity. One thing that would have made our stay even better would have been for one of the two upstairs bedrooms to have housed the two twin beds, because our children were too young to leave on their own all night in the basement bedroom two stories down from their parents. All things considered, however, we would stay here again and would recommend this property to friends.

Better than Grandma’s house!

From the moment we walked into the house it felt like a family home. The size of the rooms were generous. The fireplaces were warm and inviting. We were able to not only enjoy a fire in the fire pit, complete with S’more’s, we also brought yard games and had so much fun playing with ( and like ) children again. The lake was awesome for swimming and paddling. Many thanks and so much gratitude to Mary for offering this gem.

Family time before camp drop off

It was wonderful to stay at the Fitzgerald’s home, a beautiful property located perfectly between Old Forge and Inlet. We too were fans of the huge screened in porch!

Serene and rustic Adirondack home

This was a beautiful and peaceful place for our family to enjoy a Adirondack vacation. The location is ideal! It is close to hiking and mountain trails and not far from Old Forge and Inlet for shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed hummingbirds at the feeders and spotting deer nearby.

Rustic beauty

Property was well represented on the website. Owner very responsive to communication. House is lovely and well stocked with Sue. You bring your own linens and towels but pillows and comforters/quilts provided. Very close to the charming town ofInlet with cute restaurants, shops and boat rentals as well as public beach. My favorite part of the home was the wonderful screened in lanai. Thank you for sting your home.

Terrific quiet mountain camp !

It’s located in the woods in a peaceful forest area. The camp is beautiful with the right combination of rustic mountain lodge and modern conveniences. The screened in porch with a fireplace was a bonus for one rainy day, and we had dinner on the porch every night ! Easy access to 3 mountain trails and the kids did them all ! Wonderful place for a restful family vacation.

Black Fly Challenge

My wife and I and our three other couples that stayed in this beautiful home enjoyed all of the amenities. My friends and I do the annual black fly challenge mountain bike race, and this home provided the relaxing get away experience we needed to get prepared for our race. Great home and great experience!

Snowmobile trip without enough snow

Even though snowmobiling wasn’t in the cards this time, my sister from Florida brought her grandchildren who got to experience the snowand show them the views and experience the things we did as children growing up in central NY. The home is very relaxing and beautiful. Mary and Dave were very accommodating with allowing the grandchildren even though we booked for an adult snowmobiling trip. Very clean, well decorated, with everything you could want in an ADK home. Thank you for the most relaxing weekend. Lots of memories made for my niece and nephew who had never seen snow. We will cherish them forever. We will be booking again for snowmobiling for adults next year. We will hope for snow. Perfect location. I couldn’t of asked for a better location if snowmobiling would have been in the cards.

Great place, you won't be disappointed

Screened in porch with fireplace is a highlight!!! Only reason not 5 stars is renters have to pack out their own trash which was quite inconvenient.

An awesome weekend stay in the Adirondacks!

Mary and her home are both wonderful! My family had an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay and our weekend there really was perfect. While we did not cook any meals, the kitchen would be a pleasure to cook in. The dining area is also comfortable as is the living space. There is also a screened in porch with a full sized dining table and sitting area and separate fire place from the main living room. The furnishings throughout the house are all thoughtful, clean and inviting. There are 4 bedrooms but my family used 3. The beds were all very comfortable. We all felt that it was a great stay and would definitely stay again!

Great Adirondack home in the woods!

This was our second stay at Black Bear Crossing. We love the Adirondack feel of the house, but it has all the amenities that anyone would want to have. The kitchen is well appointed and lends itself well to cooking gourmet meals. The house is clean and works well for several couples. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants the Adirondack experience with all the amenities of a nice hotel without the staff!
