Your next getaway is around the corner at this Maine mountain lodge. this log-cabin style home has plenty of room for you to spread out while still feeling cozy. This is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Located just 4 miles outside of the non-commercialized mountain village of Bethel, Maine and just 15 minutes to Sunday River ski area it is the perfect destination in summer or winter. Plenty of land and wooded areas are awaiting your exploration at this ideal retreat for couples and families. You also have the opportunity to take advantage of the Androscoggin River which is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. If you need to rent a kayak or canoe, or hire a fishing guide, you can do so in the town of Bethel.

The home features 3 bedrooms and a recently updated finished basement with bar, ping pong, air hockey, darts, and movie area. Sleeps 10 comfortably with all linens provided! Large deck and wrap around porch/with screened in area make it easy to enjoy a quiet morning cup of coffee or entertain guests in the afternoons or evenings. Cook out on the gas grill and enjoy the evening with your fellow travelers around the fire pit with wooden benches and Adirondack chairs. Followed by a relaxing soak in your hot tub, friendly game of air hockey, ping pong or darts, or a family video in the movie area in the finished basement. Whatever activity strikes your fancy, this home is sure to entertain you and your guests.

-Visit Mount Washington nearby, a short 45 minute drive to drive the auto road to the peak. Mount Washington is the highest peak in the east and on a clear day it is said you can see 7 states from the summit.
-There is plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants in the quaint town of Bethel that exude New England charm and allow visitors to enjoy a break from overwhelming city life.
-Golf at Sunday River Resort or Bethel Inn and Golf Resort
-For the avid cyclist there is plenty or room to roam and hills to challenge you.
-Fish, kayak or canoe on the Androscoggin River
-Hike on parts of the Appalachian Trail.
-For the more adventurous Sunday River Ski Area offers zip line trips year round.
-Of course, the best skiing in the east from November to April at Sunday River Ski Resort, winter seasonal tenants welcome Nov-April, please send me a message for rates.

Great place for anytime of the year

House was perfect to accommodate our group. Large backyard for the dog and basement was a plus for playing pool and darts. Very clean and cozy. Would stay again!

Excellent stay!

The property was private and secluded, but still close to Sunday River and all other Bethel attractions. It was clean and cozy, and the hot tub helped relax after a day on the slopes.

Wonderful

Our trip to Bethel was wonderful. The place was clean and well taken care of. We loved the hot tub especially at night when we could see the stars. It was just far enough away from Bethel but not too far. We really enjoyed our stay and can recommend this lovely home.

Great Stay

This was our second time here and we had a great stay. The house is set up perfectly and near everything we like to do in Western Maine. It is especially nice that we are able to bring our dogs with us when we stay.

Perfect house to rent for a ski weekend! We have a wonderful stay and the house had everything we needed! 20 minutes to Sunday river and 10 minutes to bethel.

Perfect home and town for a relaxing vacation

We enjoyed the comfort of the home and all it had to offer (pool table, hot tub, etc.). The host was very quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed the small-town feel of Bethel and the nearby towns, allowing us to have the relaxing vacation we wanted!

Beautiful and quiet

This was the perfect vacation home for our family! The owner was very quick to respond to all questions! Something to do for everyone, hot tub, pool table, TV/internet, board games. Best of all the area is quiet and not a lot of traffic at all! Loved everything about our stay!!

Great Getaway!

We had a great visit and the property was exactly as advertised. Plenty of space for our family of five to stretch out and all the amenities we were looking for. Clean, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The lodge is very convenient to Bethel and Sunday River and we found plenty of good restaurant options within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again and Renee was very communicative and helpful.

Amazing!

Stayed at the property for 3 nights and it was amazing. The house had everything I needed and the document the owner put together made it so I had no questions! Owner was very responsive. I absolutely loved sitting in the screened in porch.

Amazing

From the beginning to end our stay at the Canon was fabulous. There are plenty of outdoor activities in close proximity which is what my wife and I were looking for. At the end of our hikes we came to our cabin and enjoyed grilling and the hot tub. Just do not follow Google if it takes you to ames lane. Be sure to go through Bethel.

Great getaway!

We had a very relaxing time in this house! We went horseback riding at a local farm, explored Bethel and its bike path, and enjoyed the house and all it had to offer. Our two 10-year-olds loved the woods in the backyard, and I really appreciated the high-quality appliances! Having a decent dishwasher and washer/dryer set made our vacation easier and smoother. Thank you!

We are skiers and generally love the outdoors all year round so Maine is the perfect place for us. We have been married for 30 years and have two grown children and one 3 year old grandchild. We live and work near Buffalo, NY

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property with the intent to retire here in less than 10 years but in the meantime wanted to let others enjoy the quiet outdoors of Maine. We have been traveling to this area for about 10-12 years and just love it in all seasons. The skiing in the winter is incredible and we have not skied anywhere else in New England since finding this area. We recently began coming back in summers and love it just as much as we do in the winter. So many outdoor things to do: biking, kayaking, fishing, hiking, swimming, etc...
