Nice cottage in New Hampshire

Susan was a wonderful host. Great communication. Everything explained in detail. I rented this for Laconia Bike Week. Even during that crazy time, the area and street the cottage is on was extremely quiet. Nice little yard for relaxing and using the fire pit. Very close to Weirs Beach and everything it has to offer. I will definitely stay here again.

Pleasant stay

This cozy two room Home was a pleasant respite for us. Cozily decorated, and tiny but useful kitchen stocked well with most used utensils and cooking items; we had access to good heat during chilly nights, and shower was clean and hot water plentiful. Susan even left a bottle of wine and marshmallows and sticks for us to enjoy at the fire pit or in the screened canopy in the front yard. The refrigerator was small but there were two of them so it was adequate for us. It was in a quite neighborhood hood with very easy access to major highways. We would definitely consider staying there again. Susan was very responsive to my texts which was greatly appreciated! We were very happy with our accommodations!

Great little dog friendly cottage

What a great place to stay, especially if you are bringing your fur-babies along. It has a fenced in yard out front with a screen room where you can relax and have a bite or read a book. Both of which we did. It is super close to Bank of NH pavilion, Patrick's Pub, NH State Liquor Store, Sawyer's Ice Cream, Kitchen Cravings (amazing breakfasts) and the beautiful lake. Nothing fancy but just a budget friendly, comfortable place to stay and enjoy all the Lake region offers. Susan is super nice and friendly. She leaves you a folder with tons of info on things to do and places to go. She even leaves a nice bottle of wine and granola bars for you to enjoy. If you bring your pups, I highly recommend Ahern State Park as it is dog friendly and they can swim in the lake. You really can not beat Susan's cottage for price and location.

Schitt’s creek

After 10 minutes we dubbed the property Schitt’s Creek. This is not a cute cabin. It is a trailer that has had some poor work done to try and make it appear like a cabin. Spiders and bugs galore, the water came out of the tap milky white. Totally overpriced as it really is more like camping than a cabin. Also the road is not quite bit a cut through. This is located across from a commercial workout club and next to a trailer park. The location is convenient to those attending a concert as it is walking distance to the venue. I would not rent here ever again.

Great Location - Not Worth the Price

Two things before I get started: 1. I already reached out to the owner about my concerns so I'm not typing this out of spite. I'm typing it to make sure everyone else that views this property next understands what they're getting in to. 2. I know it is not the owner's intention for us to check out of their property feeling this way. I think they really take pride in their cabin unfortunately there are things that need to be addressed. Renting the property was easy as pie. Susan was great in communicating and check in/check out was incredibly smooth. The location was amazing. Mid-way to pretty much everything. However, once checked in we found broken blinds, a dirty credenza, a hole in the closet door, incredibly dirty windows, hair and dirt on the shower floor, dirty walls, doors and floors. My husband accidentally dripped some of our milk in the fridge and floor in the living room the first morning. I used a wet paper towel to wipe up the fridge and it picked up a bunch of dirt. Then when I used a fresh paper towel to clean up the floor there was nothing but dirt and dust. The wood floors definitely hide dirt well, we have them too, but this should all be cleaned out/up before anyone arrives. The two most disappointing aspects of our stay were the super busy road and the towels. I wish the owner put something in the description that the road was busy. There were huge trucks passing by all day. I know in the description she mentions it's a quiet road and this is temporary but maybe there is construction going on somewhere close? It was just SO loud. And the towels. This was unfortunately the breaking point for me and when I decided I had to put a review online for everyone. I almost cried the first morning we took our showers. The towels smell like they weren’t actually washed with soap or as if they’ve been sitting for a very long time in a humid/moist place. Unfortunately, most smelled like smoke (which I don't understand since it's a smoke free rental and DID NOT smell like smoke at all) and urine. At the end of the day, my husband and I are just frustrated that we had to pay a cleaning fee when we feel like it wasn't even cleaned before we even showed up other than the sinks, toilets and change of sheets. The pictures online are accurate of what you are going to get, don't get me wrong. But what's missing is doors, walls and windows that need a extreme wipe down before the next renters arrive.

Cute house. Nice location

The house was a perfect size for the 2 of us and our dog. We didn't spend a lot of time there because we were out exploring but when we were there we enjoyed the fire pit outside. Our dog was happy to have a fenced in yard. The yard is in the front of the house along a road but that didn't bother us. Communication with Susan was great. She responded quickly to any of our texts.

Hidden GEM!

The presentation on line of this property was spot on. Hidden away, but yet close to everything. The Kretchmer's were excellent hosts and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. They were kind enough to leave complimentary items. Even a bottle of wine for guests. Fenced in yard for my dog was perfect! It was so quiet too Best part is if you like mountains and lakes you have the best of both worlds at you fingertips. We will be back!!!!!!

Annual vacation was a success!

This is the first time I used an online booking for a vacation rental. I usually stay with friends who have a small condo ~3 miles away for the 4th of July week, but this year, decided to rent separate space so they would be more comfortable. This fit my situation perfectly- able to visit with friends during the day and come back to my own space at night. Ample space for 2 dog crates (30”) in the bedroom. Great yard for the pups (20 lb & 15 lb). Felt safe for a single female.

Great Rental for Dogs

Quaint cabin for a good price. Just enough space for 2 people and 2 small dogs for a few days. Front yard is fenced in and has a fire pit and a tent with bug screen. We loved spending a lot of time in the yard. Conveniently located near amenities like Hannaford’s, a couple restaurants, Beans & Greens, Gunstock Mountain and Locke’s Hill. Ahern Park is a short drive (dog friendly) for some swimming on Lake Winnisquam. The cabin is stocked with whatever you may need for a few days. Fun stay and perfect if you have small dogs!

A+++

I have said from my first visit that this is such a great find! This was my 3rd time staying in Susan's home. I often need a place to stay close to friends and family in the Lakes Region and I am so happy I stumbled across this little gem. Susan is always great at communicating and from the first visit to this one, she walked me through each step of check-in and check-out, although there are great instructions inside the house. The home to suits my needs perfectly. It's very comfortable, sparkling clean from the rooms, bathrooms and kitchenette, fresh linens are always prepared, the heat was on and all other necessities to help me feel at home for my stay are at my fingertips. The neighborhood is peaceful and very small town New England, which is exactly what I needed and wanted. I will certainly be back for another stay!

five star plus from Carol and Bob

My husband and I were visiting from Florida and found the cottage was far more than our expectations. It was clean and well stocked with most every thing that was a daily use. Not just one brand of an item but choices of a few.The fact that they thought of every thing includeing a screened out side sitting -dinning area, a fire pit and grill for out side cooking. We could not ask for anything more. This deserves a 5 star + rating
