About this property
Modern Yurt w River Access, Hot Tub, WiFi & Grill
Summary:
Nature’s Edge is a newly-renovated yurt with modern decor, stunning views, & all the comforts from home (including a full bathroom & kitchen, heat & AC). Explore the WV mountains at this unique getaway!
The highlights:
- Enjoy breathtaking views across the valley
- Unwind in the brand new hot tub
- Relax around the fire pit, or grill on the deck
- Stream movies or take video calls on fast WiFi (50+ Mbps)
- Drive 10 mins to Wardensville or Lost River for amazing restaurants & art studios
The Space:
Nature’s Edge features all the modern amenities from home, nestled on the edge of a mountain ridge in West Virginia. Looking for a good place to hike and explore, access to Lost River is .5 miles from the Yurt. Nature's Edge has some of the best views for miles, and is a great place for couples or small groups of friends!
The yurt includes:
- A king-sized bed and a sleeper sofa in the living room (note that the this is a studio yurt and both the sleeper sofa and bed are in the same large room)
- Loft area for reading your favorite books or playing games
- Newly-renovated, fully-stocked kitchen with an oven/stove, microwave, and mini-fridge
- Smart TV where you can quickly sign-in to your favorite streaming service
- Full bathroom with large shower
- Pellet stove and floor AC (we want you to be comfortable, no matter the weather!)
- Fast, reliable WiFi that’s more than enough to stream movies and hold video calls
Outside you’ll find:
- New outdoor hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a long day
- Fire pit with seating for the whole gang
- Deck & propane grill
- .5 mile down the road is access to Lost River
Beyond the yurt itself, there’s plenty to do just a short drive away:
- Love the outdoors? Lost River State Park has nearly 4,000 acres of dense forest and miles of hiking trails (15 min drive).
- Lost River: Depending on recent rains, the river can be clear and slow moving or a little faster. It's great for a scenic stroll along the riverbanks or putting some water shoes on and dipping your toes in. It's a flourishing trout river and is great for fly-fishing.
- Looking for good restaurants & shopping? Both Wardensville and Lost River are two small towns just 10 mins from Nature’s Edge, and both have fantastic cafes, restaurants, and art shops
- In the summer, head over to Trout Pond where you’ll find a small beach for swimming and fishing – perfect for families! (about 30 mins away)
Note: While you are surrounded by 35 pristine, wooded acres, there is a state route to the north that can lead to noise, especially in the winter months with no leaves on the trees. For this reason we have a sound machine on the bedside table for a great night’s sleep.
During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
This area of West Virginia has so much to offer, and Nature’s Edge is the perfect place – whether you want to explore the area, or just cozy up at the yurt and take in the sunsets. We’d love to host you!

About the host
Hosted by Tony Cappaert

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
