About the host
Hosted by Christine

My husband and I first came to Cody, Wyoming a decade ago and fell in the love with the area. For us, this is a land of unparalleled natural beauty, populated by kind, generous and honest people. We found our lovely 30 acre property over 4 years ago and fulfilled our life dream of developing and owning a working horse ranch. Now we are ready to share this very special place with visitors from near and far and treat them to a wonderful and unique experience.
Why they chose this property
Rocking Shamrock Ranch is centrally located in the midst of the best the northern Rockies has to offer.
Guests can easily get to and explore Cody’s renown Buffalo Bill Center of the West (called by many the “Smithsonian of the West”), restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, art galleries and live entertainment. The Cody Nite Rodeo is in full swing every night from June 1 through August 31, where riders from around the world compete in traditional rodeo events to include bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, tie down and team roping.
For your convenience and needs, within town there are several national and regional banks, mail services, salons, barber shops, dry cleaners, pharmacies, a Walmart, health store, gourmet shops, liquor stores and grocery store (Albertson’s).
Exploring the magnificent natural beauty outside of Cody is a must. Our accommodations are approximately 50 minutes from the east gate of Yellowstone National Park (https://www.nps.gov/yell/index.htm), via the North Fork Highway. This drive offers majestic views of the Buffalo Bill Reservoir, Absaroka Mountain Range and Shoshone River. Visitors will pass by historic dude ranches and depending on the season visit Sleeping Giant Ski Resort and Pahaska Teepee, Buffalo Bill’s historic hunting lodge.
See wild horses at nearby McCullough Peaks, 25 miles away and the Pryor Mountains, approximately 38 miles away (https://pryormountains.org/). Within the Pryor Mountain National Recreation Area (https://www.nps.gov/bica/index.htm) guests can also explore the “Grand Canyon”, Big Horn Lake, the Lockhart historic ranch site and the wild horses which are descended from the Spanish mustangs.
The start of the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway (https://travelwyoming.com/itineraries/chief-joseph-scenic-byway/) is a 25 mile drive away, located within the Beartooth Mountains. Its breathtaking and majestic scenery is unforgettable and considered by many to be one of the most beautiful roads in America.
