2/10 Terrible
24 April 2017
The property was beautiful and the condos were well maintained.
So I booked a one bedroom condo for myself and my two children. I have two mentally handicapped children who travelled with me. Change, disruption of schedule, etc. are very difficult for them.
When we checked in (me by myself and my kids waiting in the car because one of them won't reliably get back in to the car), the front desk told me that I would be in a two bedroom condo. I explained that I booked a one bedroom and the woman told me that the booking said she should put me in the two bedroom. Fine. Ground floor unit available? No. Ok.
Hauled everything up the two flights of stairs myself- no elevator. Unpacked, had a reasonably good night sleep.
AM morning two. I get a call from the front desk saying that I need to move to a one bedroom unit because the two bedroom unit was booked for the day. I said no way am I moving. Why would I do that to myself and my kids? Disrupt the whole day based on some error in their computer system? I said no way was I moving to another condo. The front desk woman told me that she would call the police to have me moved if I didn't comply.
I explained my situation with my family and my difficulty in having to move. I asked why they didn't tell me at check in that I would have to move to a different condo the next day? The world mark employee said that it didn't even show on her car mounted that we were staying for two days. There were two separate reservations for my stay- one for he first night in the two bedroom and one for the second night in the one bedroom. Neither I nor the world mark employee knew about he two reservations until the second day.
I'll admit, I was in tears and a little hysterical at the thought of having to pack up and move everything. The contract I agreed to when I booked the condo on HomeAway said that I might be asked to move to a different room during my stay, but hat I would be notified at true time of check in. At the time of check in. Can anyone say breach of contract?
If I had known we would be moving the next day, I would have left the majority of our things in the car and not moved in as if we were staying for a couple of days.
The world mark employees were nice in the end and did not call the police and inageeed to move. Several employees came and helped me to move into my new condo. They were kind and prepared gift bags for my kids and gave me some free movie rental coupons.
I had no issues with the accommodations, lovely location and clean new condos. Bad management.
