Amazing cabin

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very peaceful and quiet. The wood stove kept us warm and cozy. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had everything we were looking for. We also enjoyed having access to the canoe. The lake is beautiful.

Eganville Log Cabin

Helene and John built an authentic log cabin some time ago and it proved a quiet and cozy refuge for us. There is no WIFi so you soon rediscover the joy of reading, canoeing around the lake and dining al fresco. Our hosts are next door but enjoy their privacy too, always available if you need advice. Local towns ,trails and caves ensure you get to know this area when you feel like missing it up. Lovely time!

Beautiful waterfront log cabin

My wife and I enjoyed an amazing one week stay here with our 9 month old. It's a beautiful log cabin, surrounded by woods before reaching the waterfront about 20 meters from the cottage. The cabin is larger than can be seen from the pictures. The water is great for swimming. We have some wonderful memories of our son's first vacation.

As advertised, an amazing log cabin on the water with all comforts of home too. A truly relaxing getaway for our family of four. There are also things to do in the area if you feel the urge. Helen -Ann and John were extremely gracious hosts, we would love to return. Thanks! Sean and Emma

Fun in the sun and so cozy in the rain. Loved it!

My original booking over the spring break needed to be postponed due to the major lockdown in Ontario. Helen-Ann was very accommodating and made the switch very easy. We arrived the first week of summer to the perfect little cabin that's larger yet even cozier than it appears in the photos. The cabin was fully equipped and we made use of the BBQ, fire pit, canoe and pool noodles. And even though it was late-June the lake was warm enough not to shock you right out again as we were expecting. The rack of sight-seeing pamphlets was incredibly helpful and guided us straight to an amazing day at Shaw Woods. We had the trails to ourselves! Nights curled up in front of the fireplace we'd find ourselves marvelling at the craftsmanship of the interior, staring up beyond the loft at the vaulted ceiling. It was pretty magical.

A Gem on Mink Lake

The log cottage is exactly that. It’s like a step back in time but with all the modern amenities travellers expect. And spotless too. At some point you’ll be sitting there, looking around and awestruck at the construction. Amazing. The BarBQ works great. Lots of room for your stuff in the fridge. The beds are quite comfortable. One is more firm. One is more soft. There’s many fans, including a loft ceiling fan, if needed. No wifi but Rogers cell service is good. The deep well tap water is crystal clear and tastes like pure water. No need to bring bottled water. The shower pressure is great. And the water is hot. We took the canoe out for an afternoon paddle. Everything needed was provided. The dock is a great place to relax. The white chairs recline. Look for them. And ask about the hammock. The fire pit is great for an evening campfire. And your hosts, Helen Ann and John are the best. Very responsive and respectful. We will definitely go back again.

A little piece of paradise!!

It was such an easy process renting the property! Helen-Ann and John were amazing , quickly answering any questions we had . The property was serene and amazing to listen and watch wildlife. What a luxury just take a deep breathe and relax! So dark outside That you can see all the stars at night , something lacking when you live in the city. My husband and I were very fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay here for a week! Thank you again Helen-Ann and John!

Amazing Log Cabin retreat and perfect hosts

What a wonderful way to end our summer in this gorgeous custom log cabin. So comfortable for our family and we had everything we needed. A great area to explore and John and Helen and could not have been more lovely, including help with a boost when our car battery died. I would absolutely love to return. It was spotless and peaceful and an amazing get away from the daily grind.

Best place to unplug & unwind!

Words cannot express how amazing this property is. We enjoyed canoeing, swimming, fishing, and walking around the property. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked. The hosts were AMAZING - so helpful and very quick to respond to any questions. We loved having somewhere private & secluded to go to especially during this pandemic. Having no shared amenities and a private dock just for our use was so great. Thank you Helen-Ann & John!

Our best vacation ever!

My girlfriend and I just loved this property. It’s extremely private and extremely beautiful. We had the most amazing time canoeing and swimming and just enjoying all that the beautiful cottage had to offer. Helen-Ann and John were the most incredible hosts and it felt like we were being treated like friends or family. If you want the most relaxing, fun and beautiful getaway experience you have to stop at this wood cabin in Eganville.

Very relaxing and enjoyable

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here, and this place was perfectly suited for our special occasion. It brings out warm and cozy atmosphere due to amazing work of both John and Helen-Ann, in and around the house. We had a great time even in rainy Oct./Nov., but would like to explore it in other three seasons as well! It was very nice to met John and Helen-Ann, who welcomed us well and made us feel like at home. Great experience.

Beautiful Handcrafted Rustic Cabin

This was our first experience using VRBO and it won't be our last. The Stuart Log cabin was amazing, relaxing, and truly a Canadian gem. The cabin is located right in the woods and you are right on the water. We were supplied with dishes, utensils, microwave, coffee maker and an oven. There is also a fridge with ice cubes trays (the trays were a bonus). Helen Ann met us and she was incredibly welcoming and gave us a little history on the cabin as we asked how this all came about. Helen Ann let us know some of the creatures that we may see during our stay and one was a bald eagle which happen to fly over us during dinner one night. We were able to use the canoe and surf boards to our leisure. We had a hammock that they let us use and we set it up in the woods to read one afternoon. There are children's toys, books and adult literature if you need something to do. There is no WiFi, or telephone which is nice as I feel like this is a cabin to get back in touch with yourself, friends, and family. There is also a barbeque and patio table with chairs incase you are wondering. As well as a tree house for the children to play and a giant wooden chair to take pictures which is used in the town santa clause parade. I feel like writing about this cabin does no justice as you truly have to see it for yourself and the relaxation it will give you. I cannot wait to book this log cabin again in the fall as it will be just so beautiful with all the fall colors. If you want to do a day trip there are pamphlets that let you know about what is going around town and what activities to do at that moment. I highly suggest booking this cabin, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
