I love this end of Lagoon Pond, the pond is warmer water than the open ocean/beaches, it's almost always calm, it's pretty quiet, and it's a beautiful setting.
The rental not only has two kayaks (both are two seaters), it also came with a complimentary waterskiing or similar "adventure" or rental form MV Watersports, which was great (and pretty nearby via water around the corner to the Oak Bluffs marina out the end of the Lagoon Pond area).
Having a pier/dock is a big benefit here if you want to pull a boat up, or just sit on the end, fish off it, etc. (even in the mid summer when the lagoon is warm there are some smaller schoolie stripers to catch in the mornings). Most Lagoon Pond houses do not have a dock, this is a nice perk. There is also a deeper water mooring I think if needed for boaters with deeper draft.
While someone could sleep on the fold downs downstairs, they are in the one (big) open room there, not really a bedroom, so I'd be leery of using it if I had more people than a queen bed and two small twin beds can handle, unless someone is just there for a night or really doesn't mind no privacy. For just two people, though, it was overly spacious.
It was also nice that there is a utility room downstairs with both washer/dryer and counter space, etc. to clean fish, to store things that would clutter the open space, etc. Lots of deck space up and downstairs, and plenty of deck chairs, plus a grill (which we never even used). The kitchen is well furnished, as is the linen closet. This house is set up for year-round living, so there are plenty of drawers, closets, etc. to put things without being cramped like a hotel room feel.
When the airport sets up for use of runway 24 (when there is a west wind, which is most of the time) there is a little plane traffic sometimes overhead, but it's not loud and the airport has restricted hours to not start early or continue late.
The agent and family were great to deal with, it was all made easy, and everything about this rental was great.
