Wonderful family stay in gorgeous location

Kathleen was the perfect host and her holiday home was honestly incredible. So much space and light with beautiful views from every window. Kathleen was so accommodating when we had to add an extra guest to the party and came over to talk us through everything. The location is brilliant for exploring the Skelligs and this beautiful part of the Kerry ring All in all, it was all just standout brilliant and my only regret is that we weren't staying another week!

What can I say, an absolutely gorgeous house and what a view!! The house exceeded our expectations- we travel with 2 wheelchair users and often struggle but this house was perfect for us. Kathleen was very quick at responding to our messages and extremely helpful with all our queries. The local area was full of friendly people and so very beautiful. I would 100% recommend this place for a perfect holiday, we all would love to go again

A view to die for!

Secluded house with amazing views of Lough Currane; plenty of room and parking. Everything we needed was in the house. Wonderful to sit outside and picnic over the lough and then watch the sunsets late into the evening. Waterville a short drive away to shops, bars, restaurants and beach. We loved our stay there.

Superb house in a great location

We enjoyed a superb week during September in Waterville. While the remnants of Tropical Storm Helene came through on the Sunday, followed by Storm Ali later in the week, we simply added some more peat to the fireplace in the living room and kept warm! The house is well equipped and very large - for two people, we simply lived downstairs and for bigger groups it must be a great place to spend time together. Kathleen was always available to answer our questions and we really appreciated her hospitality. The surrounding countryside is stunning, whether on the coast or inland towards the highest mountain range in Ireland. A special place for a very memorable holiday!

The house is a relatively recent new build with the most incredible view over a beautiful lough.

We stayed for 1 week at this house and used it as a base for touring the area. It is close to the village of Waterville but not within walking distance. Waterville itself has several restaurants and pubs as well as a small supermarket on the outskirts. The village is on the Ring of Kerry road so is quite busy with tour coaches. We stayed at the end of September so the tourist season was just coming to a close. I imagine it would be very busy during the summer months. Kathleen's house is spacious, light and airy. It has a well equipped kitchen and utility room. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with lots of storage space. We really enjoyed the beautiful view from the living room. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Extraordinary home to enjoy the extraordinary views

We spent four days in this home and could not have been more comfortable . The house is huge with plenty of space for a large group. The kitchen is very well stocked and we really enjoyed cooking our evening meals here. The view from every single window was mesmerizing. Sometime we had to force ourselves to go out and see the local sights, rather than just enjoying the change scenery as light , wind, rain and sun moved across the vista. This home is perfectly situated - thank you so much Kathleen!

Wonderful

This house was everything we had hoped it would be; well equipped, spacious and well away from the hustle and bustle. The house is situated off a quiet road, with fantastic views across the lake. The house was very clean and tidy and is huge - there's even a play room for the children. Plenty of parking for several cars. The owners were very helpful and had even baked a Bakewell Tart for our arrival - a lovely touch. We were in a group with three young children, and so walking into Waterville itself was not an option for us. However, parking in Waterville is free and we had no problem finding a space. We will be returning. Things we did:- Hired a boat from the B&B that's just a short walk away - 55 Euro for the day and we were able to explore the lake. We moored up on Church Island and had a picnic. Visited Derrynane beach - great blue flag beach with lifeguard. Gently sloping, sandy beach with free parking. A short walk away is Derrynane House with lovely gardens and a reasonably priced cafe. Drove around the Skellig RIng - stopped off at the chocolate factory (which wasn't as impressive as we thought it would be, but nice chocolate). Parked up at the cliffs and had a walk up the mountain to view the Skelligs. Went horse riding at Kerry Equestrian Centre - would highly recommend this place if you fancy a trek. Lovely people. We are not riders, and were given a short lesson and then a trek. Total time just over an hour, cost 35 Euro per adult, 25 Euro per child. Some nice cafes and pubs at Cahersiveen. Also a supermarket here, though there are a couple of smaller ones in Waterville too. Nice beach off the R567 near Annaghkeenty, but be careful where you go into the water if you want to swim here. We pretty much had the whole thing to ourselves and had great fun flying kites. Walked along part of the Kerry Way - fantastic landscapes. We visited The Lobster in Waterville for lunch and were not particularly impressed. Its a bit of a school canteen but food was adequate. I understand that their evening meals are better but we did not try.

Fantastic House with everything you will need

This house is fantastic and the views overlooking the lake from the front of the house are amazing , the photos on the internet do not do it justice. We were a party of 7 and the house was huge more than adequate for all of us. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to allow you to cook in. The location is great and we were able to explore the area easily. We had a great time and would highly recommend the property. Hopefully we will be back in the near future.

Perfect in all ways

Kathleen gave us a very warm welcome to her lovely house, and had also made us a tasty freshly cooked tea cake. We had stunning views especially at sunset. Very well presented and immaculate throughout. The layout of the house was perfect for our family of 4 adults & 4 chidlren. There was plenty of room for the children to play away from the adults while preparing meals etc in the well equipped and spacious kitchen. Tried our hand at cooking local seafoods and when washed down with an Irish beer who could want more! Location close to everything you might need and ideal for a self drive holiday We enjoyed fabulous weather touring the Ring of Kerry sights and highly recommend this property.

Excellent Property

This is a fantastic property in an excellent location. The house is relatively new and of a very high spec. Spacious and very well equipped with stunning views over Lough Currane. Kathleen and her husband are a pleasure to deal with and very welcoming. The nearby area is stunning with long sandy beaches and fantastic scenery with all that the Ring of Kerry has to offer. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Big, Fresh and Bright

The house is only a few years old and an easy (less than 1 km) drive to Waterville. We met friends at the house and spent 2 weeks exploring the Ring of Kerry. At first we thought that the house was so big that it would be cold and hard to warm. Wrong! After a day the house was warm and cozy. The central heating was great and each evening we had a warm open fireplace to sit by. The central heating cost us about 65 Euro per week and electricity cost us about 20 Euro per week but it was cold and wet most days. Kathleen provided us with all the solid fuel we needed for the fireplace so we really enjoyed some nights in by the fire. The house is massive so the four of us rattled about without feeling that we were really sharing the house. The internet was very fast and all the facilities were as advertised. The view over the lake is magnificent and we even adopted a local sheep that arrived every morning (Shaun). We were in residence in the off season so many of the local hotels were not open so we tendered to eat in half the time. The kitchen is wonderful and very big and well equipped. I love a good dishwasher as I hate to wash dishes and the Bosch was up to the challenge. I don't think that I can provide any negative feedback other than a few of the lights were inoperative (but you get that) and the Kerry County Council could do better with their road maintenance and garbage collection! We have been traveling around Ireland for the past 2 months and so far this rental was the best so far. Our host was very accommodating and extremely easy to deal with. Thanks Kathleen

Fantastic property

This house certainly has the 'WOW' factor! Very spacious and furnished to a high standard. It was perfect for our family of six. The owner Kathleen & daughter were very helpful. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate and we ate in on a few occasions. The split level lounge lounge enabled the children to play separately from the TV area. Waterville provided a few pubs and restaurants but we discovered a great beach bar & restaurant, O'Carrolls, about 7 miles from Waterville heading towards Sneem. This suited our needs with small children wanting to go to the beach it covered both angles. I have recommended this property to friends and hopefully will return. We were a bit surprised at the waste disposal options (no bins available) and had to purchase colour coded bags at €3 and €5 euros each. This was the only downside! Overall an excellent property

Lovely Holiday

Choosing this property was a blessing. We could not have been happier. The home is beautiful and spacious. It was perfect for our family of 5. We spent each day sightseeing the many wonders of County Kerry; hence convenient location. If we did not visit a nearby pub or restaurant for dinner, we enjoyed the spacious and convenient kitchen to prepare our meals. The living room and den are perfect to kick back & relax - watch a movie or enjoy the warmth of the fireplace. The Bedrooms are very comfortable and welcoming. Our three teenagers appreciated each having their own room! The home is energy efficient; hence, very affordable. We can't wait to return!! We give this home 5 stars!!!

Beautiful but Quiet Location

In a quiet location just outside Waterville, this house had everything you could want for a week exploring the beautiful Ring of Kerry. The house is only a few years old, so has every modern convenience and, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, is large enough for big family get togethers or for groups of friends. Plenty of room to find your own 'quiet corner'. Kathleen made us very welcome and we were sad to leave at the end of our stay.

Absolutely Amazing!

We stayed at this amazing home for our final holiday before moving back to the US and it was the best vacation we have had so far. The house was so beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. The views from the house are breathtaking. All week we looked forward to our morning coffee overlooking the water. Kathleen was wonderful, she had all the information you could possibly need about the local area provided for us as soon as we got there. She also had a peat fire lit when we walked in so the house was nice and cozy upon arrival. I can say for my family we hope to return again soon! Thank you Kathleen for making us feel so at home!

(Supermarkt, Metzger, Restaurants...)

Pure perfection... a little bit of heaven!

As serial ‘holiday renters’ for the past fifteen years, we have stayed in many properties throughout Ireland, Austria, France, Scotland, Spain and Portugal…but this tops them all! It’s the first one that the kids said I should buy!! We (2 adults, 3 children) spent a week at the house during April and it was pure escapism. The house is a new-build and very well finished with all the comforts you could possibly desire. The accommodation was very clean and we settled right in, it is a very large house on a large plot and therefore everyone in the family managed to find their own space to escape to, whether it was indoors or outdoors. Incidentally, the property has great entertaining space, we did not make full use of it’s potential but we did have a beautiful supper on the patio. All of the above and marry that with the magnificent location of this property, the Lake and rolling hills on your doorstep… I had a book to read during our stay but spent most of my time distracted by the view, gazing out of the large panoramic window in the lounge! Our host for the week was Kathleen, she was fantastic providing a very warm welcome and with her knowledge of Waterville & Co. Kerry we very quickly had a comprehensive to-do list. Derrynane, a walk along Waterville beach and driving the Ring are a must. All in all a truly wonderful property in a very special setting, our only disappointment was having to hand the keys back at the end of our stay! We will certainly be returning.

Wonderful Hideaway

My family have just returned from staying in this stunning property, it is even better than it looks on the website! Extremely relaxing, and the window in the lounge overlooking the Lough cannot be beaten, especially if you enjoy curling up and reading. The interior of the house is definately extraordinary and luxurious. There is lots of space and nothing is missing. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with all the pots, spices, oils etc that you would need. It is furnished to a very high standard and we wanted for nothing. Our two boys were fasinated with the sheep and the baby lambs in the field just below the house. We cannot recommend this property highly enough, and will definately be back again.

Great House in Kerry

We just finished a week at Kathleen's house and it was wonderful. The pictures on VRBO do not do justice to the view from the house, which was terrific. Some of the most stunning scenary we saw in Kerry was just down the small, untraveled (1 or 2 cars a day) road on which the house is located. We saw a lot of "holiday houses" in Kerry, and we thought that this house had the best location: private, quiet, with terrific views. The house is almost brand new, with construction finished just last year. Everything worked perfectly. It was clean, neat, and well-appointed. We are a family of 6, with children ages 9 to 16. The younger kids climbed on the hill behind the house, while the older kids read and relaxed. We thought it was perfect for a family. Kathleen was very friendly and accomodating, and came over on our first night to make a warm and cozy peat fire. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the house to anyone traveling to Kerry.
