A genuine chinked log home with the modern amenities you're accustomed to, your home away from home is sure to wow you with its craftsmanship and open space. Just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg and the Glades Arts and Crafts Community, Grand Ole Mountain House is perfect for lazy days lounging around the property or heading out to enjoy the area's exciting attractions. Nestled into the rich forest of the world famous Smoky Mountains, this genuine chinked and dovetailed log home awaits your vacation-thirsty self.

A level parking area puts you just a few steps away from the front door, which is on the main level housing a modern kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. With all the implements to make a full course dinner or just serve carry out, your group has the option of indoor or outdoor dining in front of a deck-mounted gas fire pit for those chilly nights.

Three private king bedrooms make resting a breeze, with two king beds on the main level and one on the lower. Each room has its own TV. Three well-appointed bathrooms, including one with a claw-foot bathtub, will keep you pampered like royalty.

The lower level has a game room with an air hockey table, dart board, arcade with multiple games, and a Nintendo console. A wet bar with party seating rounds out the space. Step out onto the patio for some hot tub time or just relax in your very own corner of the woods. Then when it's time to step into town, it's just a hop, skip and a jump from the front door! Great stay for a quick weekend trip!

Loved this property! Great for my friend’s weekend Bach trip. Check in process was very smooth and we were even able to check in an hour early! The house was very clean and accommodating. I wish I would’ve known before hand that the pool that was advertised is only open starting Memorial Day. Also would suggest getting a cookie sheet, wisk, and stronger trash bags :)

Decent-ish stay

Overall.. I would give this property a 3.5 rating. House was in a great location- up in the mountains and away from the hustle of Gaitlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Pictures are a bit deceiving on size..smaller that we anticipated but overall worked well for our family. Things are a bit outdated in the house.. couches are very stained.. lamp shade was broken when we arrived… broken dining room chair (management resolved) .. air hockey table was broken… trash all over property when we arrived (management cleaned after I called). Maintained came to the house when we were gone to fix a few issues and left the door open and unlocked when they left… For the price.. I expected a bit more.

R&R Mountain Stay

This cabin had beautiful views! We even seen a family of bears walking down our road. Our house was ready when we arrived and it was very clean. We really didnt have any complaints except for the pots and pans that were provided, they seemed to be very scratched up and full of burn marks. Everything else about our stay was perfect. It was definitely nice having access to a washer and dryer while on vacation.

Our Bach trip!

We had so much fun and it was very cutely decorated! Sooooo much space! Only one small complaint that honestly is super easy fix, the floors needed a better sweep.. but honestly everything else was amazing!

A Nice Cabin in Gatlinburg

Overall, we had a great stay at Grand Ole Mountain House. The cabin was smaller than it appeared in the photos. This was not a big deal, as there were 4 of us and plenty of room to accommodate more people. You may note that while the cabin is very cute and tastefully decorated it is older and shows some wear. This was not a huge issue for us but is not apparent in the posted photos. Customer service was very responsive and handled our questions quickly.

Military Women's Teip

The cabin was very clean and well furnished. I had read several recent reviews and overpacked kitchen stuff. Turned out there was plenty of dishes, bowls, crockpot, pots and pans(except no sheet pans). The firepit did not work, we thought it was out of propane, turned out the lighting switch was damaged. The management staff were very responsive to our issues and corrected them in a timely manner. I would definitely stay there again.

Centric & wonderful stay

The cabin/house is quite centric. It’s not too isolated either, there’s other cabin/houses near but everything feels private. It was super nice to seat outside and look at the scenery. While we didn’t see bears from the property, while going down we did see a mama black bear with 3 cubs (super lucky sight). As well as the property managers were very attentive during our stay keeping communication open if we needed anything. Overall, we were satisfied with the stay.

Needs some maintenance

House was nice enough. Little things could make it better. Most of lights burnt out around hot tub. Hot tub needs some maintenance done. Propane tank for firepit was empty. Grill there now is tiny and not the same as pictured. It did have a full tank. Toilet paper is cheap. Only 2 cheap plastic garbage bags with no other backups found. Beds were pretty comfy. A little too firm but made due. Good location. Management communications were great.

Review

There were some general maintenance issues that should be taken care of. The glass door in front does not close properly. In the bathroom on the first floor (not master bathroom), the faucet at the sink is loose and the toilet paper holder is barely hanging on. It’s a beautiful house and really unnecessary for these easy fixes to be like that. There were cobwebs throughout the house and the windows need to be cleaned.

Great place!

The home was clean and well maintained. Excellent communication. Perfect for kids and adults! The kids loved the basement and the adults loved relaxing upstairs. We had a great stay!

It was a comfortable space for 6 guests. Beds were comfy. Check-in/check-out very easy and communication with hosts was superb.

Beautiful View & Bears!

Beautifully decorated house that was very clean and well maintained. Splendid view. We even safely viewed a mama bear and her cub from the balcony. Only note would be that the locks on a few of the exterior doors going out to the balconies felt a little loose.

Bachelorette Getaway!

We enjoyed the Grand Ole Mountain Cabin and loved the location! It was the perfect fit for our best friends bridal party! The house was decorated beautifully; the light paint made it bright and cozy inside. We would recommend this house to anyone visiting Gatlinburg or PF - as it is close to both areas!

Best Place EVER

The property was so nice and relaxing. Check in and check out was super convenient especially after traveling all day to get there. Everyone was in contact with me every step of the way to ensure we had the best stay possible. It was super close to gatlinburg so the drive anywhere was very convenient as well. The entire cabin was so put together and so clean. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants everything to be done easily so you can enjoy your trip. 10/10 all around!

Enjoyable but needs a little TLC

The pictures show a well cared for, beautiful property. A few things were very worn, lose, or missing paint. The outside was not trimmed or kept up to be able to enjoy some of the outside such as the swing area. The inside has ample room with comfortable beds and furniture though. Overall we were very happy with the property.
