About this property

Welcome! Nestled in the Siuslaw forest on the Central Oregon Coast, our cottage sits on several acres of private property with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Designed and outfitted as a place to let-go, relax and reconnect with yourself and nature, our cottage can be enjoyed solo, with a lover, family, pet or friends.

The cottage is newly remodeled with top-of-the-line appliances, tasteful decor and beautiful woodwork. The floor plan is open, creating an environment of togetherness. There are large windows throughout the cottage, allowing the beauty of outside nature to be enjoyed inside.

Off of the living area is a private bedroom with one queen size bed that overlooks the ocean. Around the corner, a full-size European bath awaits your pleasure – candles and bubbles welcome! For nights enjoyed by hearth, there is a wood-stove in the main room stocked with firewood and an electronic fireplace in the bedroom.

For outside dining and relaxation, there is a wrap around deck and two terraces with ample seating and dining areas. These are the best places to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and sounds of nature!

We call our cottage Sans Souci – French for ‘without worry or trouble’. We’ve designed and outfitted our cottage to accommodate a visit truly without worry. It’s an attitude and experience we hope you realize here and are able to take with you when you leave.

Tranquil

I think this is the 3rd or maybe 4th time I've stayed here and I will definitely keep coming back. The property is tucked into the woods but with incredible views of the Pacific. All of the sitting areas are comfy and inviting, the bathtub is big enough for a very tall person! The hosts are so helpful, gracious, generous, and accessible. This was my first time using the woodstove and what a treat that thing is!! There are paths and forest roads for tranquil hikes and walks right on the property, too.

Coastal Sanctuary

A very special piece of the PNW. The view of the ocean beyond the trees was breathtaking. The space was very cozy and unique. Well stocked with kitchen goods. And a beautiful deck from which to watch the sunset every night while having dinner.

Quiet, secluded, away from the crowds. Spectacular hillside view of the ocean from a meadow in old growth forest. A comfortable, well appointed cottage that is perfect for a couple’s get away.

Just Magical!

Loved the cottage overlooking the Pacific. We drove in with wet and foggy weather. When we woke up the next morning the ocean was sparkling under blue skies! The cottage itself is well appointed and very charming. Loved the feeling of being in the forest. I didn’t want to leave.

An Artful Retreat

A short drive from both Florence and Yachats, surrounded by trees and beautiful natural landscape to explore... This cozy cottage contains some of my favorite artworks and is a genuinely lovely place to stay. Perfect if you'd simply like to hide away! Excellent cookware and facilities are included. I highly recommend bringing your favorite seasonings and making time to pick up some local ingredients, then prepping meals in the comfortable kitchen space. Another favorite of mine is soaking in the clawfoot tub after a long day of exploring!

Oasis above the sea

We loved everything about this house—it’s super private, quiet, clean and comfy. So relaxing to look out at the ocean when it’s clear, and equally cozy to watch the clouds roll over the hillside as a storm moves in. Thanks for sharing this place, and for making it dog-friendly!

A Diamond in the Sky

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Sans Souci, and our only regret is that we didn’t spend our honeymoon there. The cottage is incredibly well appointed—literally every one of our needs was met. The furniture was comfortable, the linens were impeccable, the tub was magical, and the view was out of this world. We’ll definitely book again.

Heaven on Earth

I would live at this place, if I could. It's perfect. Quiet, secluded, a wall of sunny windows, beautifully landscaped walking paths with benches, a wraparound deck with benches and tables and chaise. Super comfy bed. Decked out kitchen. Can't say enough good things.

Beautiful property with fatal flaw

This listing overall is everything that previous reviewer‘s have mentioned. It’s extremely private. It has beautiful views. The house itself is gorgeous with high-end finishes and a stunning clawfoot tub. There’s a lot of places to walk around with your dogs all on the property, taking in different views of the ocean. However, this house is infested with termites. We were unfortunately there during their mating season when they grow wings and they fly around and swarm. This meant that we were killing dozens and dozens of termites. They were all over the bedroom, on the bedding, in the towels. A bug bomb by the owner one day offered temporary relief, and we thought that was it… however the next night they were back and worse than ever. Instead of having a relaxing evening, we were literally up killing termites by the dozen. Unfortunately with the smoke that blew in, this made for a very terrible last night at the property and we both barely slept . The owner was apologetic and kind and refunded our stay. He did offer us a room in his own house that last night to stay in, but with Covid we were not comfortable with that. We just stayed out in the living room away from the bugs. If the termite infestation is addressed then I would absolutely stay here again and recommend this property to anyone. It’s a very unique and wonderful space. I hope this issue is remedied soon.

Talk about a get away

Tip to new travelers to the area, get the directions to the house ahead of time because service is shotty. Besides not taking the correct turn and going up and down the epic driveway, the house was spectacular. The view is to die for and the weather in august can't be beaten. I would stay here again in a hot minute.

The Perfect Getaway

A cabin in a clearing in old growth forest that sits on a hillside and looks down on the ocean. Well appointed with modern facilities, antique furnishings, and original artwork. Totally unique, with beautiful grounds, privacy, and spectacular views. Wow.

Perfect place to retreat to.

Had an amazing experience here! The cottage is situated in complete isolation on the mountain with gorgeous views of the ocean from all sides. The only down side for me was that the elevation was so high above the shoreline that I could really not hear or feel the "ocean breeze" which is always something I am eager to experience. The deep woods environment however was the solace that I was in search of as the perfect place to "unplug" and more than made up for the lack of sea spray. I will definitely be returning to this little bit heaven!

Careful thought and attention to detail

I just can’t say enough good about this place: the placement and shape of the house allow a fabulous ocean view while still being surrounded by trees and maintaining complete privacy. The grounds offer various comfortable places to sit and enjoy the views, the plants and the sounds of the ocean. The interior of the house is perfectly thought out for utility and comfort while still taking advantage of the location.

Lovely! Even in Inclement weather!

We had a lovely 2 night stay here...just hibernating and enjoying the space as the Oregon weather was quite the tempest outside our windows. This property is lovely and a wonderful getaway. A couple suggestions would be more throw blankets to snuggle up in during winter months and a small nightlight in the bathroom so that you don't have to turn on overhead lights.

Lovely cottage and setting!

This cottage is beautiful inside and the view outside is amazing. Also, the cottage has all the amenities you'd like. It made for a lovely solo retreat and I'm looking forward to returning with my spouse.
