About this property

Large privately owned villa, close to beaches

Beautiful detached villa in its own grounds, facing south and the sea. The property has 4 bedrooms, the Master Bedroom has an Emperor Double Bed 2m by 2m, the other 3 bedrooms have twin beds, 3 with en suites and 1 further shower room. The well fitted kitchen is part of a large open plan living area with TV with BBC and ITV channels. There is a large secluded terrace with shaded eating area and pool side sunbathing areas, with built in barbeque and outside shower. Our regular guests range from couples who enjoy the space and tranquility, to extended families with children who thoroughly enjoy the pool, the BBQ area and all that Playa Blanca has to offer.

Excellent villa

Loved it from the minute we booked it. Julian and Judy were so informative and supportive from the outset. Villa was in a fantastic location and so well equipped - everything you could possibly need. 7 of us (3 couples and a toddler) bags of room for all of us. We all had such a great time - will definitely be back

Family Holiday November 2023

Spacious property in a great location, ideal for 6 adults. It is situated in a quiet residential area which is great for daytime relaxing by the pool, but only a ten minute walk from the beach (Flamingo) or the harbour via a new park for which the villa has a private access. Property was clean and tidy with a well stocked kitchen in terms of crockery, utensils, glasses etc.

Perfect late booking

Me, my husband and both of our mums decided on a late booking to Playa Blanca to catch some winter sun before a long cold winter in the UK. What a perfect decision that tuned out to be! The villa is very large and has everything you need, it felt like we were staying in a friend’s house. The small pool is perfect for cooling down but the large pool in the complex is quiet and great for a few laps, we used it most days. The key for the gate to the path into town makes the walk there and back easy. We didn’t have a car and didn’t need one. Spar is a few minutes walk across the open land down the hill and there is an excellent butcher next door. I don’t often return to the same place but I’ll definitely come back to Karen’s villa again.

Our stay

We enjoyed our stay. The property is well equipped for the most part (more towels and the like would have been nice). We greatly appreciated Karen’s help when we arrived. The airline had lost our wheelchair, and she made arrangements for a wheelchair we could keep until the airline delivered ours – all this within minutes of our arrival. Thanks again!

Fantastic villa

We loved this villa. We are a family of 6 and went for two weeks. The villa is in with easy walking distance to everything that you need. You don't need a car at all. Has a gorgeous pool and outdoor area. Lovely quiet area, you do get a little bit of hotel noise but you get it everywhere in the resorts. It's got a great open plan layout and has quite a traditional Lanzarote feel. The villa is really light and welcoming. Lots of unexpected extras. Communication was brilliant and both Karens were super helpful and kind. You have access to the community pool which is really big and clean. We would definitely go back.

Perfect location and a perfect villa!

We had a fantastic 2 week break in this lovely villa. Julian the owner was very helpful and informative right from the day we booked. The villa has everything you need for a perfect relaxed family holiday. There was even a care package of groceries waiting for us as our flight arrived late at night ! A ten minute walk to the beach or ten minutes to town so no need for a car . The plunge pool on the terrace was perfect for our group to cool down in as it was very hot. The larger communal pool great for swimming lengths. The outside living space is what makes this villa special. A large terrace with plenty of room for eating out and sunbathing with a beautiful garden area. We will hopefully be back again next year for more of the same! Thanks Julian and Judy from the Thomson family.

Great Holiday

We had a fantastic holiday at Casa Colina this year. The villa was lovely - large bedrooms and bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and great open plan living area. The outside area was even better - an ample plunge pool, two seating areas and beautiful gardens around the villa. The villa and its location suited both grandparents and young children by being just a 10 minute walk to shops and restaurants and a further 5 minutes to the fantastic promenade of Playa Blanca. We were really spoiled for choice in Playa Blanca - so many great restaurants, bars and shops. Our favourite restaurants were La Gondola and Brisa del Mar where not only was the food great but the staff were welcoming and friendly. A must is a visit to Rubicon Marina to enjoy a walk along the wooden boardwalk and admire the many luxury yachts moored there and then a leisurely lunch at Lani's watching the fish swim beneath you! We would thoroughly recommend Casa Colina to anyone wanting to relax, explore and enjoy a little bit of Lanzarote life! We can't wait to book another holiday at Casa Colina!

Dream holiday

Although we arrived at night the villa still took our breath away, our family were amazed at the layout, the pool and the size of the villa. We had everything we needed to make our holiday the best holiday experience we have had. Just a short walk to the beech and wonderful places to eat we were spoilt for choice. There were 6 adults in our party and we had so much fun especially in the pool. Me, my husband and my youngest daughter climbed the near volcano which was hard work but oh so worth it, with spectacular views (best do this on a cooler day if possible). We plan to return next year as we know there is so much more to the island to see. The only suggestion I would make would be to perhaps provide fans in the rooms as it was so hot when we were there it was uncomfortable especially at night. Highly recommended to all. Lovely property, great location.

This was our first time at Casa Colina and Playa Blanca, on holiday with our son, wife and three grandchildren. The villa was perfect - a short walk to the town and all restaurants, shops etc, lovely gardens, sea view and very peaceful. The children especially loved the pool. It was small but great for our brood aged from 7 to 10. We could relax on a sun bed in the shade and keep an eye on them easily. We did not use the large pool at all. The villa itself was well equipped and everything was in working order. We appreciated the welcome pack of essentials but a quick orientation look round and a walk into town soon topped up essentials of liquids - water, wine , beer and tonic (and food of course). A short 4 euro taxi ride back and we were set for a lovely holiday. We did not meet Julian and Judy during our stay but did meet the friendly pool man and Chris who changed the linen half way through our 12 day stay. A great stay at a lovely villa. I would thouroughly recommend it for a perfect family holiday and my daughter in law is already talking about booking it for next year.

The villa is beautiful. In a very quiet location but within easy walking distance to the village and beach. Julian and Julie welcomed us and were very helpful, lovely people. We used the villa pool to cool off but was also impressed with a larger pool around the corner. There is a supermarket nearby We would certainly go back and will not hesitate to recommend.

Perfect location and lovely villa

We were a group of 7 and stayed here for one week. We have rented lots of villas over the years and this was one of the best. It's very spacious, plenty of wardrobe space, good sized rooms and a very large outside area. It's like a home from home. The grounds are well maintained in the villa and the estate. It is a 10-15 minute walk one way to Flamingo beach and the same again the other way in to the town so no need for a car if you're happy with a short walk. We all agreed we would definitely stay here again if we stayed in Playa Blanca.

Perfecte Villa

Super quiet and relaxing

We are just back from visiting this villa must say it was a very relaxing holiday because this Villa is in one of the quietest areas we have stayed but still close enough that we didn't need to hire a car. The property was as described on the site, very spacious, it was just two of us so we chose the rom with the French doors leading to the terrace and the pool. There is ample seating for the maximum number if you were to occupy the whole villa. We used the washing machine which was great for beach towels. There was a welcome pack on arrival which was a nice touch as we arrived late afternoon and didn't feel like shopping. The beds are very comfortable and we both slept very well. The Bedding was fresh as were the towel. The bathrooms were clean however some things were a bit dusty with kitchen tops and door handles being a bit tacky to the touch however this is a very minor point but one a felt I had to mention in case anyone reading this has allergies but I'm sure the owners will resolve this as they may not be aware. I would definitely return to this villa. I did not meet the owner but we spoke on he phone, I met with the caretaker/cleaners and the pool man and all well friendly, the pool an particularly was very knowledgable about the island.

Wonderful!

Casa Colina was a wonderful villa in a wonderful location, so wonderful that we booked for next year as soon as we got back home! The villa is beautiful and spacious and has a lovely character. It was perfect for our family group of 5 adults - with its 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and large lounge and dining area, everyone was able to have their own space comfortably without getting under each other's feet. The garden was absolutely beautiful too with a very generous supply of outdoor furniture where there was a spot for everyone outside whether we wanted sunshine, shelter or shade or wanted to sit/sunbathe round the pool or on the patio at one of the tables under cover and out of the glare of the sun when appropiate. Casa Colina is very well equipped and has great kitchen and utilty area facilities too, so eating and cooking was also very easy and a pleasure to do on the evenings that we dined at home and enjoyed the villa. There were even candles on the dining table! The location was just perfect within walking reach to the well stocked local Spar, into town and to the Flamingo beach and to the promenade. I loved being able to see the sea from the villa and watch the ferries come in! The villa is very well maintained and beautifully clean and also feels very homely. It was lovely to meet owners Julian and Judy and the maintenance team too. What delightful people who seem genuinely keen for you to enjoy the property. All in all, we had a fabulous week with the only complaint being that we had to move out after a week and let someone else into what had become 'our' home!! We have to return as we still have so much still to explore

The perfect villa

It is always a pleasure to come back to Casa Colina. The owner makes the booking process so very easy, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Certainly set in a prime location in Playa Blanca, we never need a car. This villa is beautifully appointed and equipped and the team who look after it for the owner take great pride in their work. We love the peace and quiet and the space and our children love the fresh water pool. I can fully understand why this villa is so popular be it just for 2 people or like us a family of 4. Maybe next year we will link with friends and then be 8. Certainly there is no other place on Lanzarote we would rather be than here in Playa Blanca.

Home from home

Our second visit to Casa Colina and it was so nice to be back in a lovely property. Its very private in the best area in Playa Blanca with an easy commute to the beach and the shops. You don't have to have a car. Another benefit is having delightful owners, Judy and Julian close by for help and information The close by large pool and tennis courts are an extra bonus. In short its a pleasure to be there and we will be returning for sure. Mel & Ann Bailey

Such a restful time at a lovely villa!

This was our second visit to this beautiful villa so we knew what to expect: however, our expectations were even exceeded as some refurbishments had taken place and the whole villa looked even nicer than before. The spacious accommodation with four bathrooms is wonderful as every room is a very good size. There is a spectacular view across to the sea; bars, supermarkets and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The biggest surprise discovery this year was the (immaculately maintained) communal pool just round the corner from the villa: this as well as the small pool at the villa itself. We are a group of four ladies who holiday together once a year: the fact that we've already rebooked for next year speaks for itself! In addition: I've also booked to take my husband and a friend in January. I would recommend the villa unreservedly but have some hesitation: I don't want too many people to know!!

Stunning Villa, fabulous location.

We chose this villa to celebrate my birthday with family and friends, when we arrived we were delighted with not only the villa but the facilities. Everything you could ever want was provided and the villa was spacious and cool. The area is so quiet and relaxing, perfect for a stress free holiday. The pool and patio area were superb and a larger communal pool was just 2 mins walk away, the maximum number of people in this pool when we went to swim was approximately 6-8 people, sometimes only us, so even this felt like a private pool. Only 15-20mins walk into the heart of Playa Blanca and all the shops and restaurants, a taxi journey to the Rubicon Marina was only about 5 or 6 euros. Julian and Judy were very welcoming and always available to advise on anything.

A perfect winter sunshine getaway...............

This immaculate, well maintained villa is set on high ground in what must be the premier development in Playa Blanca, surrounded by colourful well tended gardens, and with a spectacular view over the harbour and out to sea looking towards Fuertaventura. The south facing terrace is a real sun trap, somewhere to enjoy outdoor life literally from dawn until after dark. Inside, the well appointed rooms provide excellent comfortable accommodation, with pristine bathrooms and a very well appointed kitchen, together with all the machinery one would expect from such a villa, such as washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, satellite TV, DVD player and audio system. The pleasant village of Playa Blanca is a short walk away, giving access to supermarkets, shops selling fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, local wines, restaurants and take-away outlets. The beach is clean and uncrowded. For those wanting to venture further afield there are the famous fish restaurants at El Golfo, The Fire Mountain of Timanfaya, the Sunday Market at Teguise, the marina and restaurants at Puerto Calero, and the many cultural destinations created by Cesar Manrique, the famous artist born in Lanzarote. In closing, there can be no better recommendation than the fact that the owners of Casa Colina live very close by, and they demonstrate great commitment to your enjoyment by their attention to detail in ensuring your comfort. We had a delightful and enjoyable stay here, and would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone thinking of a holiday in Lanzarote.

About the host

Host profile image
We first went to Lanzarote in 1979, and fell in love with the island. We bought the land and built CASA COLINA in 1987. The villa has a wonderful feeling of tranquility and as our family grew up we enjoyed many happy holidays in the Casa Colina and Playa Blanca . We were lucky to own some land close by and we built another villa in 2002 where we still holiday and we are now in a position to spend most of the winter in Lanzarote.
We live in the summer in Rutland and Judy, my wife, enjoys her golf and we both love sailing.

Why they chose this property

In our opinion we were so lucky to find this location many many years ago, being on high ground, on possibly the best estate, close to all amenities but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Locations like ours do not exist anymore
We spent a lot of time deciding on a design that gave really good accommodation and a feeling of space. This we achieved.
The quality of build is excellent and the villa today looks as good if not better than when it was built. We are very proud that eighty percent of our bookings are now guests returning for another holiday in Casa Colina.

What makes this property unique

We have never considered CASA COLINA a letting house. We have always thought of it as our house where we have friends and guests to stay many coming back year after year. We have couples who enjoy all the space and tranquility, and families who return regularly. Our mission statement is ' Colina should give you an experience you will remember',and hopefully you will come and visit us again.
