Our stay made it easy to access the shops and restaurants we needed to go to. Although the main spaces of the living area were clean (living room, bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, tubs, showers, toilets, sinks, couch, and beds), we were surprised to see some dust accumulated throughout the unit (on lamps, light fixtures and overhead fans, as well as box fans in the bedrooms) and having to clean the tea kettle and some dishes and glasses before use. We would have given this a 5/5 star stay if we felt the small effort it takes to dust and check the clean dinnerware were taken. Probably just an oversight by their cleaning service, as the rest of the property was clean and well maintained. Please be prepared to carry your luggage up the steep stairs to the unit. There were handrails for added safety which were appreciated. Lots of comfortable space for our family. We would stay here again.
Thr apartment was centrally located, clean and so wonderful. Great space and set up. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great plave to stay for the week!
My wife and I were looking for a place to relax a few days where we could bring our 2 dogs with us, Finn and Fiona.
When we arrived everything was as described. Very clean, perfect location and very comfortable. Everything you need to feel at home.
The area itself is very scenic, a short ride to many interesting locations.
The whole area is very dog friendly which was important to us since we don't want to leave our "kids" behind. They love traveling with us.
I'd recommend James place to anyone traveling to that area with family or friends. There's plenty of room.
My husband and i stayed at this rental house in order to visit with our son and family in Greenfield nearby. We thought the house was very nice. It was very Clean and well equipped. We had a very nice stay.
Property was just as advertised. Big bedrooms and bathrooms with a comfortable living room and modern kitchen. Great water pressure in both showers plus a washer and dryer on site. Cool area very close to a downtown that has coffee houses, restaurants, and cute shops. Nothing but positives For our stay and would definitely stay at James’s place again!
This is our third or fourth time staying here and we really enjoy ourselves. Walkable town with everything everything’you need in close range. It’s great to explore all the other towns in the surrounding areas
Unit is as described. Nice, clean, roomy, functional. Apartment is on 2nd and 3rd level, so stairs may be a bit tricky for older folks. Parking is on the street but no issue. Would stay again!
It was as advertised. Stairs are steep, but that is well documented.
Clean, plenty of air conditioners.

Not beautiful, grungy and uncomfortable
We are well traveled, 50 something adults who can deal with quirky or different. This was neither. Based on the pictures we weren’t expecting fancy or new. What we experienced was grungy and gross.
We have stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and this is the third worst one we have stayed at. We selected this place as we had a family event in the area to attend and the selection of places to stay was slim. The reviews on this place were good so we settled on this. Once we walked in I immediately started searching for new accommodations with no success. Unfortunately this space doesn’t give me enough room to list all the issues but I will provide a high level overview.
I have never stayed in a place that has leftover soap in the bathrooms. Moist, soggy, bar soap. Both showers had black mildew. Both had a bunch of what can only be left over shampoos, conditioners and body wash from past guests. So much so we had to remove it from the shower we opted to use to have space for our own stuff. The fridge and freezer contained old food. There were strands of hair and grunge in both. The windowsills were cluttered with grungy oddities that made it hard to close the dirty blinds. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom sunk in the middle and the sheets were frayed at the ends. I developed a rash on my neck from the pillows in the upstairs bedroom.
We also have not received back the huge damage deposit despite. We do not recommend this place.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at this apartment. The space was clean, quaint, and comfortable, and we had plenty of access to all sorts of amenities. It was also somehow cozy and roomy at the same time! The neighborhood was also really neat, and we were in walking distance to everything we could possibly need. No complaints whatsoever, and we would totally stay here again!
Very spacious, clean and comfortable! Great price! The stairs are pretty steep going up and down to and from the 2nd floor apartment and the handrails are tricky which may be challenging for elderly customers or anyone who has difficulty walking.
Very nice with a convenient location in a quiet neighborhood.

the old STAIRS!! Steep, narrow and uneven.
Creaky old house. First impressions were how steep and narrow and dangerous the stairs were. Narrow tread with a high riser and a 90 degree "fan" turn so the stair "tread" you're walking up while hauling your suitcases are triangular in shape. This obviously is an old house with period correct architecture, but it's not mentioned in the property description. We're travelling for a child's college graduation which means we're hauling super heavy & bulky suitcases up and down the stairs helping the kid move back home. We would NOT have stayed here if we knew it had such steep climbs to the main living area and then again to the 3rd floor bedroom.
Many of the windows didn't open and the AC are all window units which weren't installed in the windows yet. So it was a bit warm and stuffy. Ceiling fans helped.
Spiders in each room but at least they weren't too large. Water didn't taste foul and the linens were clean.
The apartment was stocked well with everything we needed for a six day stay. It is an older building so don't expect perfection. The windows let in a lot of cold air when the temps were freezing but nothing a blanket couldn't fix while relaxing. The washer and dryer worked great, that was a huge plus for us because we hate traveling home with a bunch of dirty laundry. Dishwasher worked fine but a couple of the burners on the gas stove would not light for us. That was no big deal. If you an old New England charm home, this would be it. The host is very responsive and will make sure you have a fantastic stay!
This was the perfect place for a last minute junket to see the New England color. Host was incredibly helpful and the place was just as advertised. ONE note--if you are not familiar with traditional New England stairs, this is not ideal for anyone who struggles with steps, but once inside it was PERFECT.
My husband and I love staying in this 2nd floor apartment. The owner is super accommodating and the apartment has all the comforts of home. The town is right down the street and has a great coffee shop and a great pizzeria. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
