We’re Jon and Ian—lifelong best friends who fell in love with Northwest Montana during a road trip back in 2020. We made a promise then that we’d return one day to build something special… and Highland Ranch is that dream come to life.

We’re both avid skiers, long-distance runners, and passionate outdoorsmen. Whether it’s trail running under Montana’s endless sky, a dip in Flathead Lake (our favorite place on Earth), or hiking through Glacier National Park, this landscape fuels everything we love.

Creating a space for others to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature has been our mission from day one. We hope Highland Ranch brings you as much joy and peace as it brings us.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location because it sits at the intersection of everything we love—wild beauty, stillness, and possibility. Highland Ranch is nestled on 80 private acres in Montana’s Flathead Valley, with stunning views of the Swan Mountains and direct access to the Flathead River. We’re just 5 minutes from Glacier Park International Airport, 15 minutes from downtown Whitefish, 25 minutes from the west entrance of Glacier National Park, and 30 minutes from Flathead Lake—our favorite place on Earth.

But this land is more than a backdrop—it’s part of our long-term vision. We’re committed to sustainability and regenerative practices. Over time, Highland Ranch will grow to include a community garden, a regenerative micro-farm, and new eco-friendly features that give more than they take. We want guests to not only experience Montana’s raw beauty, but to reconnect with nature in a way that inspires stewardship, restoration, and awe.

Whether you’re here to fly fish at sunrise, hike world-class trails, or just unwind under the stars, this neighborhood—and this land—offers something meaningful.

What makes this property unique

Highland Ranch offers something rare: an immersive nature experience without compromise. Set on 80 acres of private land with direct access to the Flathead River and views of the Swan Mountains, our property is designed to help guests reconnect—with nature, with others, and with themselves.

What sets us apart isn’t just the setting—it’s the intention. We’ve combined the comfort of well-designed spaces (like our glamping Jupe tents, mirrored ÖÖD cabins, and stylish tiny home) with the freedom of the outdoors. Guests can unplug in an off-grid glamping tent, enjoy reliable Wi-Fi and AC in our on-grid units, or work remotely from our 2,000 sq. ft. lounge and co-working space.

We’re also building for the long-term. Our vision includes regenerative farming, a guest-friendly community garden, and sustainability practices that make your stay part of something bigger. From fire pits and riverside hammocks to guided fly fishing and future on-site food experiences, Highland Ranch is more than a stay—it’s a story you get to be part of.
