Wonderful, relaxing stay on the river. Kayaking and boating, the scenery was spectacular. Quiet mornings sipping coffee and enjoying the many birds that stopped to visit the feeders. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare our Thanksgiving meal! Beware not to over step the No trespassing signs On the river bank, the neighbor will definitely let you know! DEFINITELY recommend this getaway!!
Spent a long weekend @ this property. Everything was perfect! Communicating by email & text w/ owner/property manager was so easy. She responded quickly and was always so sweet. The house was very clean, kitchen was stocked with all the necessary supplies, plus MANY extras and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and even towels for the river...wow! Beds were very comfy and very cold AC plus fans in every room. The view of the river from the house was beautiful and river access was great...even my 8 month pregnant daughter had no trouble getting in the river. The entire family loved this house on the Guadalupe river...just what we all needed to relax and recharge. Highly recommend this property. We will definitely return! Thank you for a great mini-vacation!
This is a cozy home on a beautiful part of the Guadalupe river. The dam just a few properties down makes the water deep enough to for fishing & kayaking. The river is so pristine here, and the limestone cliff across the river is gorgeous. We saw so many fireflies! This was the relaxing weekend our family needed before going back to school.
I love this house and property. It had everything we needed for a truly relaxing river stay. Aside from the great riverfront, my favorite thing to do was sitting on the deck with my Merlin Bird ID app open. One morning it picked up over 20 species of birds! Highly recommend this serene place if you need some down time. Thanks Audrey - and also BB from the Hunt Store for helping me break into my locked car w phone and dogs inside! What a great guy!
This property was perfect way to enjoy camp pickup over a few days. The location is excellent - down the road enough to be quiet, but just a few minutes from Hunt. There is a long, very nice stretch of river that is essentially private for 4 houses, and each house has its own private riverfront area. It is also nice that the river is just a few steps away from the house and does not involve navigating a trail or crossing the highway (which is the case for many rental properties). The house is very well maintained and well equipped for hosting and had everything we needed for our stay. Paper plates and plastic utensils are recommended so that you don't have to spend much time hand washing dishes. We were able to cook and grill easily with the well stocked kitchen. Our kids loved using the small kayaks and the adults particularly enjoyed the backyard deck area in the evening. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Overall we would definitely consider renting this property again!
We went to Hunt to witness the solar eclipse. Did a day trip to the Alamo and a day trip exploring the Texas Hill Country including a visit to a winery On eclipse day we decided to stay on property. Before and after the eclipse went kayaking and hung out on the beautiful property. The house is organized perfectly and is just as advertised. Hope to visit Lazy Achers again.
The house was right on the river with plenty of green space for the dogs to play! Entrance to the water was easy and gentle. The dogs enjoyed splashing around and we used our SUP boards with them. Overall it was a delightful stay with everything we needed for the weekend!
The location could not have been prettier, and the river access and row boat and kayaks were awesome. The house is dated, does not have a dishwasher and is not fancy, but it is clean and you are there for the outdoors. The beds were comfy and things were tidy. Overall, it is a great place, if you are not expecting luxury interiors. Also, there is no cell service, so be prepared for Wi-Fi only.
We were so happy with our stay at this delightful cabin. Have to say the pictures do not do it justice. The cabin is large and spacious, as are all the bedrooms. Master is really large with a wonderfully comfortable bed. There are all kinds of extra blankets and pillows. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, including spices, coffee filters, cocoa, etc.
The living room is very large with a wonderful fireplace (no firewood tho-you have to bring your own). One could spend all day sitting in front of the large picture windows gazing at the beauty of the back yard and the river below. (which we did a lot). Our grandboys had a blast paddling the river with the two kayaks and the rowboat. Our grandson, Forest, spent the entire two days on the river fishing with amazing results. 7-lb bass and 15-lb blue cat, among the many many fish he caught. One of the nicest things was we had the entire river to ourselves-never saw another person. We were there in November and got to experience exceptional fall color in the trees and cypress.
Audrey was wonderful to work with and very responsive to our needs.
The only disappointment was lack of wifi, cell service, and small tv with sporadic service at best.
We had an awesome time here. Spent most of our time outside under the shade of the large beautiful trees. We also spent time playing games on the well maintained yard between the house and river. Lots of room out there.
I would highly recommend this rental home to anyone that needs to get away.
This property was perfect for our long weekend centered around Camp Mystic’s end of first term closing. We all enjoyed the river and being so close to camp we could hear the campers at night before pick up on Monday. Looking forward to returning next year.
Had a wonderful trip with the family, the house and property were as expected. Audrey was wonderful and commutation was great! This is a quiet getaway.
We had an amazing time. This was our 2nd trip to Hunt, first time at this location and we loved it! We got to sit outside right on the river and watch the deer and hummingbirds; it was so peaceful. We can’t wait to come back!
House was perfect! Right on the water with dock and boats for fishing and water fun. The porch outside was great for relaxing, cooking, watching deer and birds, eating. House was clean and very pleasant. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat (although there is no dishwasher), living area was great with fireplace, games and piano. Audrey was attentive and helpul with everything. No complaints - we will be back!
Thank you for allowing us to spend time at Lazy Acres. Your home location is absolutely gorgeous. What a perfect spot to get away from everything. Omg....it was so relaxing and peaceful. The wildlife was incredible. We were in awe of the deer and all the different birds. Even with drought and low water levels, there was still enough water above the spillway crossings to wade out in. Our dog enjoyed swimming and doing zoomies in the yard afterward from cooling off in the water. It was great.! Can’t wait until our next visit. Our host Audrey was very helpful on area and things nearby. Again, thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!
