Please note that this house has several step downs between levels inside and 3 exterior staircases.
Have you ever stayed in a house built by hand? If not, this is your chance!
This cabin wasn't designed, built, painted, or even landscaped by strangers. It wasn't even constructed with store bought lumber. It was built and perfected over 5 decades out of love and with trees harvested from the property it sits on!
This charming 4 bedroom, 2 bath cabin on 10 acres is nothing if not unique.
Come enjoy nature and each other and get the reprieve from your busy life that you deserve!

About the area
Ellijay
Ellijay is home to Hippie Hideaway. Tabor House & Civil War Museum and Toccoa River Swinging Bridge are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Amicalola Falls State Park and Chattahoochee National Forest. Travelling with kids? Consider Burt's Pumpkin Farm and Ellijay Marketplace. Make sure you get close to the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
Hippie Hideaway was a cozy place on the outskirts of town. Loved being secluded but yet not too far. Bed was comfortable and we had all the conforts of jone. O ly suggestion is that fire pit be closer to house and have and indoor accessible firplace
We have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Everything about the property is amazing. The outdoor space is beautiful and there are plenty of hiking, rock hounding, bird watching, relaxing and anything else you can imagine outside! The cabin is unique in that it’s is rustic and modern. Perfect blend!! The books were amazing and we felt at home on our getaway. Our son enjoyed the games and the endless outdoor fun. We highly recommend this stay to anyone that enjoys the outdoors. Charlotte was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be coming back soon and many more times I’m sure! We have a very fond place in our hearts for this cabin…we found out we would be adding another member to our family!!
