Phoenix Frustration
Our 2 week rental turned out to be a complete frustration. We ended up walking away from this property the evening of our arrival with a small portion of our money returned. Our concerns with this unit were with security, cleanliness and misrepresentation of the listing. Security- The door lock was very difficult to operate as the lock/housing rotated back and forth as we attempted to open the door, taking multiple attempts to open. The Host assured us the door was safe as the deadbolt (separate from the keypad) was fine and explained the door was warped from the sun, causing the issue with the primary lock. Our issue with the response was the deadbolt only worked once you were inside, adding no security otherwise. Cleanliness – we walked into the unit and found feces and urine in a toilet. When we flushed the toilet, it almost overflowed and we were left to plunge the toilet. We found dirty kitchen cabinets, dirty pantry shelves, and a bathroom door coming apart. One bedroom had a cracked window and the patio door blinds were missing slats. There was also a hand towel wrapped around the plumbing piping in the lower level bathroom. Misrepresentation– the pictures of this listing present this unit as being much newer and up to date. The kitchen only had 4 plates and minimal silverware. Additionally, the couch in the living room is a very deep couch that is difficult to sit upright. The only other chair in the living room was also very low and laid back.
