Location, Location, and One-of-a-Kind!
This was a one-of-a-kind place to stay, being a spacious Brownstone from the late 1800's within a block's walk to Central Park, subway stations, restaurants, grocery stores, and other merchants. Yet it was on a relatively quiet street. Our goal was to stay for a month and "act like residents." We loved this area because it was primarily locals. It exceeded our expectations in many ways.We wanted some extra space, and this apartment offered that. The primary bedroom was in the back and very peaceful. It was the first time we slept in New York City and heard birds chirping in the morning instead of sirens and honking horns. Really, it was that quiet. We did not use any other sleeping spaces - they are mainly pull-down small twin beds in tight spaces that share sleeping / desk space. There were two areas for working - the main level had a nice office off of the dining room with a desk (plus pull-down "bunk" beds if needed), and work desks downstairs (also with twin beds sharing the spaces). Having a wireless printer was helpful. The WiFi connection was shaky at times; however, there were two WiFi boosters that we reset a few times. The kitchen had almost everything that we needed for cooking. The spacious dining room was perhaps our favorite room, as it was so bright with large windows that overlooked the street. This apartment is a personal residence, not a full-time rental property, meaning that guests may find personal items in the kitchen, closets, etc.
