Great location!

When you are in Playa del Carmen good location is a must and this is a great location! Close to the restaurants and shops and more importantly the beach!! Clean and spacious condo, easy communication with the host, my family and I really enjoyed evenings on the private rooftop!!

Good location but in need of TLC

This condo was in good location but it needs some TLC. Condo is in need of some TLC. Sofa worn out, bathroom hooks not able to use, tv in primary needs hung on wall. Can’t see it from bed cause it’s sitting down on bench seat. Deck boards on roof in major need of repair. We didn’t have water almost every morning but that was more Aldea Thai than this condos fault. We’ve stayed at Aldea Thai property for the last 5 years and I’m not sure I’d stay at this condo again unless it gets a little makeover.

Great stay

The condo was perfect for our group of four. We enjoyed the convenient location in downtown Playa. We did run into complications on our 2nd night where the whole block lost power. This led us to finding a close alternative hotel for the night. The host was responsive with the problem and offered a discount on our stay, which was very accommodating. Altogether, it’s a wonderful option for downtown Playa Del Carmen.

Overall, a Solid Experience

Overall, property was fine. Location was excellent, amenities were good, this particular condo was a bit "tired" (as was the overall complex) and worn, but not bad. The property manager was a bit slow but still helpful. Not sure I would rent this unit again as it was a bit too worn, but I did really enjoy my experience overall.

Great Place with amazing location!

We recently stayed at this condo over spring break with our family and were absolutely delighted by the experience. The condo itself is not only very nice but also incredibly spacious, easily accommodating our family and making us feel at home. One of the highlights was the pool and deck located above the condo, which provided a wonderful private space for relaxation and family fun. The location of the condo is unbeatable. It’s a mere 30-second walk to the beach, making it effortless to go back and forth throughout the day. Whether we wanted to catch the sunrise, enjoy a quick swim, or watch the sunset, the beach was always just a moment away. Additionally, the main shopping area is within a 2-minute walk. This area is bustling with life, offering an array of bars, shops, and restaurants. We were spoilt for choice when it came to dining and shopping, and the convenience of having everything so close was a huge plus. The area felt safe, welcoming, and perfectly suited for families looking to enjoy both the tranquility of the beach and the vibrancy of the local community. Our stay was nothing short of wonderful, and we highly recommend this place to any family looking for a memorable and enjoyable beach getaway. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Great Condo

Great location. Condo was perfect for us and our extended family. We had 6 people and it was plenty of room. The rooftop was very nice to have to relax. The plunge pool was chilly so we only dipped our feet in, but that is to be expected until the weather gets hot. We used the complex pool daily. A short walk to the beach and to 5th avenue it was a perfect location. Only giving check in process a 3 out of 5 because it should have been very easy as the process was outlined very clearly, but when we showed up the condo wasn’t ready. Check in time is 4pm and it was not ready until 6 pm. That was the only frustration we experienced and we communicated that with the host asap so they realized what was going so they could address the issue in hopes that it doesn’t happen again. The host is very responsive. I am a very organized person and had quite a few questions before we arrived and they were always quick to respond!

It was very good - but there was a lot of sewer gas smell from the bathrooms... so it was a constant challenge to get fresh air. We did just about everything to fix - to no avail. This (Sewer Gas) is an issue in a few places we've stayed. Besides that it was great.

Beautiful place, wonderful location, just minor adjustments

This was my second time staying at Aldea Thai. I booked a different room the first time and absolutely loved it, with no problems. So for my second trip, I knew I wanted to stay at Aldea Thai again. The location is safe and close to all the great restaurants, beaches and nightlife. The only issues I had was the smell coming from the master bedrooms toilet. I had management come check it out and tend to the issue but the smell never went away. In addition to that, every time we walked into the resort, the doormen loved giving my friends a hard time. For some reason the young kid at the front always had an issue with us, especially when I asked for advice or directions. In addition the host was very nice, but when I asked for assistance or reservations (like she advised I do), I would not receive a response until the next day. Other then that, I really loved this resort.

Potentially a wonderful property but the condo we stayed is lacking maintenance to get it there.

The property was outstanding. The interior was clean and in good shape and had all of the necessary supplies you needed. The roof deck was phenomenal. The picture don't capture how large it is. The property was great too. It was in a great location, updated and the common pool was amazing.

Amazing place with one unfortunate shortcoming

The Aldea Thai is a gorgeous property with beautiful amenities and an amazing location, just steps away from the beach and two great beach clubs. The condominium itself was also beautifully maintained and the rooftop terrace with plunge pool was the icing on the cake. Our stay would’ve been perfect had it not been for the awful smell of sewage that came from the bathrooms in two of the bedrooms. It was really difficult to stay in the bedrooms, let alone sleep. The management was very attentive and came out to address the issue, but it persisted for three of the seven days we were there.. It was apparent that this was not a new problem for them They had various deodorizers and incense around the unit to try to disguise the smell. I’m not sure if it’s unique to this unit or a more pervasive problem for the property itself. I would definitely consider staying here again if this problem is addressed.

Needs some maintenance

The only thing I was disappointed in was the pool had multiple tiles missing which could cause injury if walking around in the pool. Also the patio table had broken tiles. One of the lounge chairs had a big rip in the seat. There needs to be better lighting over the lock box so you can see the numbers to get the key out. The sink in the hall area leaked under the cabinet. Some maintenance on the shower door like the rubber stripping. Otherwise everything else was fine

the apartment we stayed in had a splash pool on the roof. it was very nice in the evening to just relax with a drink in the pool. temperature of the water was perfect.

Great location, busy condo complex

Lovely property, great location. The rooftop patio with plunge pool is incredible. One caveat for families. Although there were some other families in the condo complex, there were also a lot of groups of young people there to party. We encountered several very intoxicated people in the common condo areas (including the communal pool, including during the day), and it could get a little rowdy. Fortunately the condo's concierge was great at shutting down noise at midnight.

Fantastic location, spacious apartment. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time! Our favorite beach club, KOOL, just out the back door. Private pool and communal pool beautiful and sparkling clean! The private deck had comfortable new chairs and provided sun and shade for everyone! The apartment is spacious and nicely appointed. Comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did have an odd smell i the master bedroom and I would recommend having pillows or some kind of protection on the granite shelf side of the sofa - very easy to strike the back of your head on the edge of the granite as you are sitting down (as my husband did). We have stayed in 4 different places in Playa and this was our very favorite! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Best Option in Playa del Carmen

Don't hesitate with choosing this fantastic 3BR condo. There are a ton of great reviews for this condo and there is a reason. From the pre-travel communication and follow through @ check in with Francesca to the daily maid service, cleanliness, location.....this place has it all. And of course, as everyone has noted in their reviews, your very own private roof top patio, pool, and lounging around area is incredible. Lastly, we were advised by a bunch of "experts" that Playa del Carmen is unsafe and it couldn't be further from the truth! We felt 100% safe at all times both at the condo development and walking around the main entertainment district which is only a two minute walk. Don't hesitate.....this place is great!

Great stay as always!

This is the 2nd time I stay at this very same property. Customer service is great and the point of contact in Playa del Carmen always replies to concerns and issues in a timely manner and someone is there shortly to fix any issue that may arise. The pH is perfect for 8 people so totally recommended. Would totally stay here again if we travel to Playa in the future. Always a safe bet to stay at Aldea Thai! A lot of fun since it is so close to Mamitas.
