Relax among the redwoods in your riverfront cottage with brick paver patio with porch swing, large deck with hot tub and private outdoor shower, fire pit area, bicycles, and private dock with three kayaks (two single and one double). Please note that the river may not be safe for kayaking in winter season due to swift currents. You are surrounded with lots of mature landscaping, flowers, majestic redwoods & fruit trees striking the perfect balance of sun and shade.
In the winter months, curl up with a good book near the fire in the wood stove while you wait for the rain to pass. On a sunny day, go for a bike ride with bikes provided across the historic foot bridge to Guerneville for an ice cream cone. In the afternoon, plan a visit to some local wineries using the many books and maps available. On another day, go for a hike in the redwoods at Armstrong Park or marvel at the waves on the Pacific shoreline at Goat Rock or Shell Beach. At the end of the day, breathe deeply and relax in the hot tub under the moon and stars. Then roast some marshmallows while sitting by the outdoor fire pit which is propane-fueled for ease of use and allowed on "Spare the Air" days.
The first thing you'll notice when you enter the house are the beautiful wide-plank wood floors and the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and trees creating a peaceful zen-like atmosphere.
The upstairs has two spacious bedrooms with Queen beds and new fluffy comforters. Both bedrooms have lots of windows and one has a deck overlooking the river. Please note there is no bathroom upstairs. There is a small bedroom downstairs with Twin bunk beds.
The main living areas are downstairs with an open floor plan. The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows on one end and a wood-burning stove on the other end. There is an adjoining dining room with seating for six people. The dining room opens out onto the brick paver patio with a large outdoor table, propane BBQ grill, porch swing and lovely views of the river.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all the essentials and more (cookware, coffee, tea, spices, olive oil, etc.), stainless steel refrigerator, smooth-top electric range, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker & grinder, blender, toaster oven and waffle iron. There is an adjoining breakfast nook with pub table seating for four.
The bathroom is located downstairs and has a large vanity area and shower. It is well stocked with plenty of bath and beach/spa towels plus two hair dryers. There is a private outdoor shower with hot water under the redwood tree stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner on the deck outside the bunk room. All the bedrooms have mirrors and outlets to make it easier for everyone to get ready at the same time.
The patio is equipped with a propane BBQ grill, table and seating for six, and porch swing for two. The adjoining deck has a hot tub for up to 5 people, and an outdoor shower. There are stairs off the deck down to the fire pit area with seating and a dock where the kayaks (two singles and one double) are tied up in the summer from late June to late September. In the off-season, the kayaks are stored on the property and can be launched from our dock depending upon river levels and currents.
