A Very Special Place

Casa Bay is the Florida I remember. The property is spectacular and the house has everything one needs. I took some beautiful pictures that I hope to share on VRBO.

Family friendly house

We enjoyed our stay. Location is in a residential area, but the view and bay are wonderful. If you are looking for touristy things to do you will drive about 15-30 min. Houses is on the older side, but has everything you need. We would definitely stay here again. Kids and husband were able to fish. Kids loved the treehouse.

Best of the Bay

This is our family’s 4th time staying at this house. We love the bay in Santa Rosa. We caught lots of fish from the dock. The kids love the treehouse and hammock. The house is older but spacious. There was construction noise Nextdoor. But looks to be finishing up soon. We will be back!

Slice of Heaven

Great host but also the most beautiful property! There is a tree house that was comfortable for adults to get into in the back yard that over looks the bay. Water was fun to play in while we cooked out in the back or fish right off the dock.Closely located/short drive to the beach, grocery stores and pet friendly restaurants. Our family visits Destin every year but this year we wanted more time at an actual beach house and this place was perfect! The home was clean and well stocked with clean towels, dishes and linens. We like to experience new places but I think we will try to book again in the future. It was a very nice booking! Thank you hosts for sharing your home with us!

Back for seconds!

We loved this house so much last year that we came back and stayed here again. And again it did not disappoint! This home is such a cute older cottage style home and is so comfortable! It has so much character and charm of days gone by. We loved that there were so many places you could sit, relax and enjoy the views! There was so much room for everyone. We were able to fish and swim right off the dock. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals but there are so many awesome "local" restaurants right around the corner that made it great when we came off the water and everyone was starving. We love that you can enjoy the bay and the gulf in the same day because you are only minutes from the beach! And the air conditioner works great! Thank you for sharing this home with our family!! We will be back next year!

Out of the way and on the bay

We rented this vintage vacation home that sits right on the Choctawatchee Bay for a family gathering. It’s truly an old Florida setting, with live oaks and palms shading the property. There is an upscale grocery nearby on hwy. 98 where you can grab everything you need without much hassle. The dock is freshly repaired after hurricane damage. Bring folding chairs and enjoy the sun or the moon as if you grew up living here. If you like the beach, shopping, sight seeing, or dining out, 30A is only a few miles away. The white sand beaches are what people are talking about. You can explore the region’s quirky architecture or see the dune lakes in several state parks nearby. The house is the kind where you can imagine spending your childhood vacation. It’s casual and not fussy. It’s a perfect retreat.

A hidden gem with great fishing.

Great fishing! My 14 year old son caught a massive cat fish and the highlight was a sting ray! We will for sure be back. It's a peaceful escape.

Great location

We can only echo most of the reviews for this property. We had our 3 kids (all in their 20’s) plus one fiancé with us. Loved the location on the water. We spent a lot of time outside! Screened in back porch was awesome but we couldn’t enjoy it until we gave it a good cleaning! Interior of home is just old and needs updating - kitchen cabinets/pantry especially. Couches were very comfy and large TV was nice. Proximity to beach was awesome. Wanted to use canoe but one seat was rotted out. Did enjoy fishing from the dock and watching the dolphins swim so close!

needs updating and improved cleaning

The property is in a great location. We have stayed there before and is why we rented again. Detailed cleaning was the most disappointment especially with COVID. Air conditioning vents in kitchen had mildew on it, air conditioning intake vent full of dust, both bathrooms need tub/shower caulked again milder inside of caulking, screened porch looked like it had not been cleaned in over a month with cigarette butts on floor, garbage disposal leaks onto floor if used, vent above stove does not work, porch swing by bay where my 83 year old mother loved on our last trip has totted and unable to sit in. Ceramic floors in house are in a dire need of cleaning with a commercial cleaner, I texted landlord with pics and never received a word back from her. Even though she had texted me the combo lock to get in. If the cleaners would spend a little more time in the house cleaning it would feel better, 15 mintues top cleaning house was used

The host Jamie was great! Very attentive to our needs and a great communicator. However, the check in process was very disappointing. We had a check in time of 4pm and did not gain access to the property until 6:30 pm. The cleaning company was late, and while they did a great job, it was frustrating to drive around with groceries for over two hours (most of which went bad). This was no fault of the hosts, but rather the cleaning companies timing.

The Casa on the Bay is a delight

We absolutely loved the Casa nestled in the bay area of Santa Rosa. It was quiet - the neighbors were friendly, the house is adorable, absolutely loved all the different areas to retreat to; the screened-in porch, the table on the patio, and the awesome dock where you could sit for hours in such a peaceful & tranquil setting. It is only about 15 minutes from Baytowne - a few more the Henderson State Park beach in Destin which is lovely. The property manager was absolutely friendly and amazing too. This is a great place to stay - we had all the items we needed to ensure a wonderful stay.

Taste of old world charm

Loved this home, it had exactly the feel I was looking for, close to fine restraunts, wonderful crabbing fishing right in backyard. And wanted a feel of old world charm and got exactly that!! New ac unit, wonderful eating areas inside and iut!

Casa on the Bay

Loved the location and house. Loved the backyard area for sitting and watching fish jump and boats riding by , the dock was great for fishing , watching sunrises amd sunsets and the hammock and treehouse were a plus. The house was perfect for us . There were 4 of us. My husband and I had the master which I loved the open window overlooking the back yard bay area. It's an older home but I loved the rustic feel of it all . Nice big table in the dining area, nice couches and tv. Loved the outdoor screened in area ,we played cards in the evenings out there overlooking the bay. We brought our 16ft fishing boat amd had it tied to the dock which was awesome to go out on the boat for fishing or an am or pm boat ride. Theres also a nice Restaurant called The Bay u can get to by your boat from the house. Loved it and plenty of room for a bigger group

Great family getaway

The house and property were great! Very peaceful and beautiful location. The kids had a great time playing in the water. Our whole family really enjoyed it. We only had one issue with the tv, but the property manager quickly came out and got it fixed. We would definitely stay here again!

Vintage Coastal charmer.

This property was everything and more. The unique charm and quaint comfortable decor was awesome. It was well stocked with all the essentials and lots of extras as well. location was perfect close to everything! But so peaceful and quiet on the residential street. The views are better than any photo can capture. A paradise of live oaks and magnolia dripping in Spanish moss frames the beautiful sunrises over the bay which is steps from the variety of sitting areas! Fishing was plentiful. We will definitely return!

Loved the location, home and yard but needs to be cleaned better

My family loved it! That is everyone who didn't pay for it. For the price I paid I would have never expected for it to be dirty. The floors were dirty and the sofa looked like it hadnt been cleaned or used in quit sometime. There we bugs and ants in the kitchen. And the extra sheets and blankets could be refreshed. Location, house layout and yard was amazing. My family loved crabbing, kayaking and sitting on the dock watching the sun set. The sunrise was beautiful also. We seen dolphins 2 evenings swim right near the dock. The house had plenty of sand shovels and water floats available. And a fully equipped kitchen. Just needs to be cleaned really well and refresh the extra bedding

Casa Bay Review

Old home with much repair/upgrade work needed. Dissatisfied with cleanliness and bugs inside the house. View was great as was the property manager and his responsiveness. Definitely not a place I would stay again.

Great home BUT needs a really good cleaning.

The house is great! The issues were not too big of a deal, but they mounted. The property manager was quick to respond, but there were so many bugs, the tile floor was exceptionally dirty. I went to clean up water from the rain and my paper towel was black! I know rain brings in bugs but by the third day their were hundreds of them in the kitchen. We were planning to add a couple of days because the weather was getting nicer, but just left. The roof was leaking, (first rain in a while) and washer didn't work. Like I said great house but needed to be deep cleaned and a few repairs.

Another amazing vacation year in this home!

We love this home! We have teenagers and we come here yearly. We love the bayside where we can explore, fish and kyack. This home is a tradition for us to come to yearly with the kiddos and relax for a week. Love the new dock they built too! Much more sturdy! My kids run straight to the dock and the treehouse when we pull up. Most of them are between18 and 20 and the little kid comes back out in them here! We always head to grayton beach state park for a day of hiking and relaxing on the beach. We rent kyacks from Adventure 30A ,they bring them straight to the house for you and you can rent them for the whole stay and they pick them back up when done. We took them to Grayton Beach with us to the lake area there also. At the house, we had a day where the dolphins came right up to the dock and we all jumped in the water and swam around watching them. We caught lots of fish and kyacked around the bay all day. The water was like glass that day. Very shallow and clear. Made great memories! Todd and Irma Roark were great hosts! They even stopped by to make sure we were happy with everything! They had the place ready early for us and everything looked great and we were very pleased. This is the first year we have had hosts at this property and it was great knowing they were down the road if we needed them for anything. Can't wait for next year when we come back again to Casa Bay house!

House was very dirty inside and not clean. The outside space, dock and yard were great!

The inside of the house was very dirty with roach traps in plain sight by the kitchen sink. We knew the décor was dated but this was just dirty. The floor had not been moped or cleaned in who knows how long. We never cooked in the kitchen because of roach traps everywhere. There was also mold growing on the walls. If it had a good deep cleaning and some better décor and light switches that worked this would be a nice place. We only stayed inside to sleep. On the other hand the yard and dock were awesome. The dock had new boards and the yard was very large and private.
