Beautiful hideaway set on 5 acres fronting onto 4 miles of quiet sandy beach on the Wild Atlantic Way It's sheer relaxation peace and tranquility, interrupted only by a ship gliding by or a pod of dolphins.
If you can drag yourself away Ballybunion world famous beach and golf resort is 10 minutes away alive with bars, restaurants music and craic. Listowel heritage town nearby for relaxed shopping and historical sites.
Day trips to Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Dingle, and to Co. Clare via Tarbert ferry.
For the Golfer the house is ideally located to play all the famous links courses of Ireland's south west. Lahinch, Doonbeg, Tralee, Waterville, The Old Head of Kinsale are within reach and of course Ballybunion is right on the doorstep. Killarney and Adare Manor courses are also close by.

This house is filled with light, the sun streams in all day. The hallway is double hight with a gallery staircase. The lounge has polished wooden floor,flat screen TV with surround sound DVD/radio. Double french doors lead to patio/barbecue area. There is comfortable seating for 8 people and breath-taking views.

The spacious kitchen/diner is equipped with a gourmet gas/electric range cooker,dish washer,fridge freezer and granite worktops. the dining table is set in a huge bay window facing the sea. The utility/laundry room has a washer, drier, ironing board and ample storage. ,The master bedroom with luxury en-suite is also on this level. Upstairs there a 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 doubles en-suite. There's a twin bedroom and a large family bathroom with shower over bath. All the bedrooms have great sea views,open up the windows and let the sounds of the sea sooth you off to sleep.

The large patio/ BBQ area is ideal for lage family get togethers or parties and al-fresco dining. The garden is surrounded by paddock fencing . A short path leads to the beach. There is loads of parking, bring your boat, jet ski or any water sports equipment if you wish. The golden sandy beach stretches for 4 miles, why not take a swim before breakfast or a long barefoot walk in the surf?

Amazing Holiday Home

Amazing holiday home with outstanding views and easy excess to the beach which is just at the bottom of the garden. This Holiday home was extremely high end with everything you could possibly need, the beds were very comfortable and the house was spotlessly clean. The host dermot, was very helpful and welcoming and without being intrusive was readily available with any queries. We would love to return to this beautiful house.

Beautiful House by the Sea

Amazing home which has everything you need ad more - plus the most gorgeous views over the Shannon. Relaxing week watching the tides, playing golf and visiting family. Lovely walks on the beach and even a swim in the sea. Will definitely return.

A Relaxing Week in a Beautiful Location

Everything about Dolphin Cottage suited us. The spacious of the house with its views and its immediate access to the beach meant that it was such an incredibly relaxing place to be. The house itself was stocked with everything you would need for a very easy and comfortable week away from home. All of our communications with the property were dealt with promptly and Dermot made sure that we were very well looked after. It was an absolute pleasure to stay in Dolphin Cottage and we look forward to returning there again next year - already booked!

Peaceful - this property is some 10 kilometers from Ballybunion & location is so much better! Loved the kitchen, with picture window to the lawn & beach just beyond, which was so quiet that it was almost our own 'private' beach. Garden & grounds were immaculate.

Sunshine by the Sea

We had a wonderful week at Dolphin cottage, the views are stunning and the house and surrounds make for an incredibly relaxing time. Great sized bedrooms, 3 of them en-suite, beautiful views in every room, especially the kitchen. The house is extremely well furnished and well kept. The kids loved running down onto the beach from the house, the beach is long and quiet- perfect for walks. Day trips to Dingle and all the many sights and beaches make Dolphin cottage a real gem. Thanks so much Dermot and Nikki for a wonderful week. The kids give a big thumbs up ! Much appreciated. Dave & Nicola

Perfect location for a family get together

Beautifully presented with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Lovely location with views of the Shannon. Stunning beach for walks. Plenty to see and do in the area. Very friendly but unobtrusive host who ensured we were ok. Lovely welcome and welcome pack. Would recommend Dolphin Cottage highly.

This property exceeded our expectations. It was clean and was equipped with everything families would need. It was certainly 5 star. We stayed in January so the weather wasn't particularly good, but each evening came back to a lovely warm house. Highly recommended.

Great house, even better location

We had a fantastic stay here, helped by glorious weather. The house was very well kitted out, in an absolutely fantastic location. We did a bit of exploring each day but were always really happy to go back to the house and just walk on the beach, watching the sun set. Perfect.

Fabulous house in a beautiful location

We had a super-relaxing Easter holiday in this house. It is extremely well designed and provided the perfect accommodation for two families. The beach was amazing for long walks, not to mention the stunning views from every room of the house. Dermot and Nikki were warm and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. We highly recommend this house, and we hope to return to it ourselves.

Beautiful setting and perfect house

We were a party of 4 generations and everyone fell in love with the house and it's location. We felt very welcomed by Dermot . Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday was available such as body boards and barbecue. We also had the privilege of seeing a royal tern a bird only ever seen in Ireland 3 times ever! We were therefore joined on the beach by 20 or so bird watchers from Dub!in, Holland and Belgium!!!! It flew away after 3 days. Really recommend this house to anyone. We surfed at Ballybunnion at the surface school and ate at an amazing if slightly expensive restraint there called Daroka (Cliff road). It's in a Sunday Times top 100 list and was great food for all. Great fish and steak dishes.

Comfortable nice house direct at Shannon river beach

The house very comfortable and well equipped, nice garden and direct at the sandy beach of shannon rive, just few miles from the atlantic river. Beautiful landscape around, qiet and private. Would thoroughly recommend. We will be back at some point. Thanks Dermot

A beauitful house in a great location and great value

6 adults stayed for a week at the end of March 2016. It was such a great holiday and the house was everything and more. Dermot was very accommodating and helpful, he meet us at Asdee and we followed him to the house as its not that easy to find the first time around. The house was spotless, bright and felt very homely. There was a apple pie in the fridge on arrival aswel as milk and tea bags- just what we needed after traveling. The kitchen is a dream :) and the fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The view of the beach really does take your breath away. The beds are very comfortable, the en suits are very modern and up to date. We had good weather, but sadly no bbq's this time around. I would HIGHLY recommend this house to anyone- it has that perfect balance between being rural and being able to reach local shops, beaches and pubs fairly easy in a car. We visited Cork, Tralee, killarney and listowel but always felt happier at the house playing cards and looking out at the views. Ballybunion beach is stunning, McCarthy's Sundaes ice cream shop is a must too. We will be back at some point :) Thanks Dermot

simply wonderful!

The Dolphin Cottage was one of the best places we have ever stayed. We will never Forget the stunning look when we first came down to the Cottage and saw the House and in the back the Sea. The House itself is clean, stylish and comfortable. Dermot was as friendly and helpful as you can only wish! It wasn't just a Holiday accomodation it was a home for us in that time and will be missed from time to time when we are at home again. There is every Comfort you will Need. You'll find some games and books for nice and funny evenings. And as well for the Little ones you can find balls, or Beach toys. And the Kitchen is a dream with it's big Gas Stove with Grill plate for meat and a Wok. There isn't a bad Thing to say! We loved it! Thanks again Dermot for everything!

Perfect - a home away from home

The house is just gorgeous and so comfortable - it really is like being on holiday in your own home. It was absolutely perfect for my family which includes an 18 month old. It's so peaceful too, the only noise you'll hear is the birds tweeting, the waves lapping and the horses running on the beach, which really is at the end of the garden! Dermot & Nikki were very accommodating about our arrival time which we were so grateful for. Would thoroughly recommend.

An idyllic location

An idyllic location on the shores of the Shannon estuary, Dolphin Cottage far exceeded our expectations for a holiday rental. Quiet, peaceful, spacious and modern with stunning views from every bedroom, the kitchen and the living room. And yes we saw a dolphin! Although we could have easily stayed in the house our whole holiday and been very happy, it was a great location for day trips to nearby Ballybunion, Ballylongford, Listowel, the Tarbert Ferry and other scenic west Kerry destinations. Don't miss pony trekking on the beach, (recommended by the owner), the seaweed baths at Ballybunion (seasonal), Jesse James Tavern (village of Asdee), Kennelly's Bar (Ballylongford) and nearby Carrigafoyle Castle. It was wonderful to come home to Dolphin Cottage at the end of a day of sightseeing, relax in front of the gas fire and cook a meal in a thoroughly modern kitchen all while viewing the beauty of the Shannon. The owner's quick response to emails, phone calls, questions and his warm hospitality made all of us feel very welcome and comfortable. I would highly recommend this property. It was spotlessly clean, well-maintained and well-designed by the owners. Special touches included a large selection of DVD's for the flat screen TV, a well stocked array of cooking equipment, and comfortable bedding. We hope to come back to Asdee/Ballybunion and especially Dolphin Cottage very soon!

Beautiful Home on the Beach

Our 2 week stay in June 2010 at Dolphin Cottage was truly memorable. The house and ita surroundings exceeded our expectations for a holiday home. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning to the fabulous views. The location was a great base for touring the West of Ireland. Our family also enjoyed horseback riding on the beach and visiting the town of Ballybunion where there were very good restaurants and the Ballybunion Golf Course is only 10 minutes from the house. The owner of this beautiful cottage was always available to answer any questions that we had. We look forward to planning a return visit.

A Perfect Place To Stay

Dolphin Cottage was a wonderful place to stay, the house and garden were perfect for our holiday with 3 children. The view from the cottage was just amazing, with the beach only a few steps away the children loved it. The local town of Ballybunnion was lovely, with supermarket, shops and local pubs, only 5 mins down the road it was ideal for any essentials needed. From the cottage we didn't have to travel far to find some of Ireland's fantastic places to visit, Dingle Bay, Kilarney, Tralee are just a few of the places we went. The sights and scenes around County Kerry are fabulous. We are returning again next year for a two week stay

Long awaited family vacation

I’d like to say that our experience met our expectations on this property, but it actually exceeded it. The property was remote and extremely peaceful, with direct access to a beach for long walks. There were 5 family members and the house was quite spacious. It was exactly what we were looking for. Dermot was an absolute gentleman of a host, and was quick to reply to any concerns or questions we had. We definitely plan to return to Dolphin Cottage!

Just Fabulous!

My siblings and I, along with our spouses used this fantastic house as our home base for our visits to so many of our ancestors history in western Ireland. It was the perfect place to land each evening, for cocktails watching the sunset over the water. The perfect place to reflect on our discoveries. The house is beautiful; the hostws so accommodating! We recommend it for your adventures out or just a quiet retreat.

The view……

What a wonderful property!!!! The home was beautiful and the views are like something out of a movie. Dermot was very responsive and helpful when called upon. This is definitely a place I will be returning to in the future.
