It felt like a home away from home with very pleasant staff, clean and extremely comfortable accommodations and the location was great.....close to subway, lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We will stay here again.

Close to NYU Shanghai Dorms - Great

This apartment/hotel is quite literally across the street from the dorms of NYU Shanghai (2019). The main gate can be hard to find. Just look for the razor wire atop a fence/wall after the shopping and food area, then turn right and walk down that street about 100 yards. The fence/wall will be on your left, the backs of the shops on your right. The gate guard (on the left) will let you in. You have to use your room key to make the elevators work.

The room itself is like one bedroom condo unit complete with kitchen equipped with immediate need appliances and utensils like microwave pots, knife, pot holder, etc. It has small clothes washing machine, full size refrigerator. Dining table sits 4 and a complete living room. it's a home away from home. Shopping Mall with grocery in the basement is convenient and across the street only.

I have stayed in other service apartments in Shanghai, and this one is just one notch below them in terms of property condition (good, but not top) and service (again, very good but not the best). Foreign visitors should be aware that the English-language skills of the front desk staff are very limited—there seems to be one French employee who shoulders all the work of communicating with non-Chinese-speakers, but he's not around 24 hours a day. But, these apartments are more than sufficient for a comfortable week in Shanghai, and the subway station is only a short walk away. The large shopping complex across the street is quite convenient for meals.

The Lanson afforded us the very unique chance to stay in an upscale apartment in Shanghai, conveniently located across from a major mall and walking distance from metro stations. While the hotel is not full-service, it serves a hearty breakfast and the room in which we stayed had a fully functional kitchen including microwave, large fridge/freezer and even a washer/dryer, so it gave us independence and space for snacks and coffee. The 'apartment', which has patios from the living and separate bedroom, also has a dining area and spacious, well-equipped and accessorized bathroom. The front desk staff is courteous and helpful with directions and ordering taxis in Mandarin; Amanda was especially helpful as we navigated Shanghai on business. The Lanson sits in a gorgeous, well-manicured residential gated complex, it's a safe location, and extremely clean and well-maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the decor is beautiful, and the view from our 16th floor gave us an unforgettable view to one of the most thrilling destinations we've been fortunate to visit. Bravo, Lanson!

We loved the place so much, we stayed an extra 4 nights! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We have a large family so we upgraded to the King and 2-twin room. HOLY COW!! WHAT A ROOM! The room was very spacious and inviting. The housekeeping staff was courteous and respectful of our kids (3) different napping schedules. Breakfast was simple but filling. There’s a great mall just steps from the lobby with just about everything you need.

This was on the rail end of a business trip to shanghai. I was extremely impressed with the value for the stay! It was delightful to find an English speaking French man working the front desk! The staff was friendly and courteous on all accounts. The rooms were spacious and inviting. The beds were heavenly, especially after staying at chain hotels for two weeks prior paid by our company. It’s a little out of the way from the everything, but a subway station in a 5 minute walk and you can get almost anywhere from there!

Great Stay!

Lanson Place is located within 5 minutes walking distance to the train station. It was hard to find at first. Emailed Ms. Zhang several times prior to arrival, she was AMAZING! Only wish that hotel supplied laundry detergent, as we were unable to buy across the street at market in the mall. ish breakfasy had better food choices. Overall a great place to stay.

Great location and a great property. Easy access to subway and downtown. Only minor tech issues with check-in and check-out, but they were able to store luggage at check-in and mail me the fapiao I needed for tax purposes. Staff was friendly. Only complaint was that breakfast was not served on weekends.
