Pokomoke is a classic cottage sitting in a private location on Sebago Lake. Every room in the house looks out to the beautiful views of Sebago Lake. Two queen bedrooms upstairs and a futon in the living room sleep six in the main house. The main house has a full bath upstairs. The lake cabin has a queen and a twin (no bathroom). The woods cabin has one queen and two twins and a sink. The kitchen has all the amenities of home. Phone, internet/ WiFi and TV keep you in touch with the outside world (if you want to keep in touch). The grounds around the main house and cabins are level great for games, lounging in the hammock or sitting by the firepit. A flight of stairs lead you down the hill to the dock and a pebble beach. The water at the dock is deep most times of the year. Sebago is controled by a dam and occasionally water levels can vary. A mooring is available for a boat tie up at night. Pokomoke can accommodate 10-12 guests however, it lies in a quiet neighborhood and it has classic beauty both of which need to be respected. Pokomoke has been in the same family for nearly 1oo years.

We stayed 2 weeks at Pokomoke! It was amazing. The main house had plenty of space for everyone with big bedrooms and 2 living rooms. The cabins were also very big. The yard was big enough for a canopy or 3 with room for yard games. The washer and dryer were a great perk. The water was deep but crystal clear. There may be a few stairs to the water but the dock was big enough to pack a cooler for the day and limit your trips back and forth. The property manager was great to work with. Very friendly and very responsive. Overall, a great experience!
Our family took their yearly vacation to Pokomoke this year. There was plenty of space for all of us to be cozy and content sleeping. The views from the main floor of the house were just amazing. Even though our week was mostly rain, we enjoyed being in the same house relaxing, playing games, and hanging out, all while having plenty of space to do so! The lake water was high, so the pebble beach was under water, but the water was refreshing to swim in when the sun came out. The stairs coming back up from the dock were brutal though-there were so many! The property manager was so friendly and helpful! The location of the house to the store was perfect and walking the neighbor with the dogs was great. We will definitely add this to places to come back too! It was a fantastic week at an amazing lake home.
We had a perfect stay at Pokomoke. My partner in crime and 10 teenage girls had the best week. The cabins were the best, allowing 4-5 girls sleep in each. That allowed the main house to be quiet and stress free:)
Can’t say enough about the great property and the views. The lake is the cleanest I’ve ever been in. With the only downside of it being very windy. Keep that in mind when having a boat. He sure to use the mooring as much as possible.
Overall a perfect week. Only thing I would suggest for any group over 5 is to bring your own grill! They only have a small charcoal Weber and it is nearly impossible to grill on it for 10 people.
This is the most beautiful location. We arrived and never left for the week. There was no where better to go. Beautiful water. Lakefront dock. Responsive management. Thank you Sandra!
Terrific Scenic Property with direct access to Sebago
WE had a group of friends and this was perfect to give everyone space and enjoy Sebago ME at it's best. The property was a bit rustic so be aware but makes up for it with views and size. One sitting room is fairly updated and comfortable for sitting and entertaining with food and friends. Kids should be watched because it is on a height above lake and a lot of fun nick nacks around. Guys were fine with atmosphere and second shed bathroom. Girls a bit more concerned with spider webs but had a ball in the kitchen and with cuisinart for cooking. Boaters should know minimal options to launch on lake especially west side. Long beach marina was a beach access and a bit shallow over 20ft boat. Mooring at property this trip was a bit rough due to wind direction coming into cove. Trailering a boat needs to be under about 9ft wide to turn into property road around trees unless dropping right at marinas. Sandra was great help and very available if needed.
An amazing location with views that are truly breath taking. Property manager is very responsive and accommodating. Great for families and allowed for our two of our kids (9 and 7) to have their own space away from our 3 year old with the separate cabins. Having the dock and mooring buoy made it all the better having a boat for the week. We had an amazing week and will definitely be returning.
This property is amazing. It's tucked back in the woods right along the lake's edge. It's a few hundred feet above the water, but there are two separate stair cases that take you to the water's edge, one of them with a dock.
There are 3 separate buildings to stay in, the main house being the biggest, but the lake cabin and woods cabin are nice as well. This provides a great opportunity to provide "space" amongst folks staying. One thing to be aware of is only the main house has a bathroom, although there's another 1/2 bath in the separate garage.
The property manager Sandra is phenomenal - super responsive, very helpful, and went above and beyond in helping with everything.
Only (minor) snag I had was with the availability dates in the listing, albeit this was booked in the Fall after peak season. The property was not available for the first night, but Sandra did everything she could to remediate, and once she could not, was flexible in allowing check-in the following day. Not a big deal, but why I gave check-in and listing accuracy 4 stars instead of 5. In the end not a big deal.
I would definitely book at this property again. My family and I love the property, the location, and really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to anyone.
We were a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 teenagers) and between the main house and 2 cabins, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The property is rustic but fully functional and with the exception of a gas grill, was well provisioned. Situated on top of a bluff, the views of the lake were amazing, especially the sunrises. The waterfront was great as well; the dock is large enough for everyone to hangout on and the water is clear with a sandy bottom throughout the cove. Sandra, the property manager, was super responsive and easy to work with. It was our first time renting on Sebago and between the great weather and accommodations everyone had an amazing time. Thank you!!
We stayed for a week with our family which consisted of 7 kids under the age of 12. We loved the property and the lake was clean and warm! The sunrise in the morning was breathtaking making the whole experience. They house and cottages was ample room for all of us(12 people). The stairs where a lot but this is known going in to it based off the listing. The cottages were very rustic with a lot of the owners stuff around which wasn’t ideal for young children but we made it work. All in all a great experience.
My family and I stayed for two weeks - we loved the views along with the peace and quite and the kids loved the swimming area! The stairs were steep, but we knew that going in and they weren't an issue. Thank you!

Not the greatest
The steps to the water are about four flights of very steep steps -- as a result, my parents were not able to go to the water line at all, and we couldn't allow the kids to go in the water without an adult trekking down the four flights of stairs and sitting with them -- I don't think is adequately represented in the description what an ordeal this can be and how limiting it is. One toilet did not work at all. While we had the place, the next door neighbor was doing heavy construction, which started at 7am and continued ALL DAY LONG -- jackhammers, pounding nails, and sawing. Hardly a peaceful vacation, and when we alerted the owner, we were told simply that they can't control the neighbor. It was a very disappointing response, considering that anyone who rents the place is looking for peace and quiet.

Fresh Water Paradise!
Pokomoke was just what we hoped for but I do think the website description could be more transparent and helpful. We loved the property and the privacy. The dogs loved it too! One thing to keep in mind- the steps are steep and long to the lake from the houses so not great for older guests to navigate often. The two cabins were rustic and wonderful but important to understand that you need to walk to another building to go to the bathroom. IN the main house there are two private bedrooms on the second floor. The first floor has a lot of seating and places for additional people to sleep- but there is no privacy- and no bathroom on the first floor. One shower on the premises and two toilets. Not at all a deal breaker in my opinion, but better to know up front.

Wonderful time at a beautiful location!
It was such a pleasure staying at Pokomoke! The house was such a treasure, we felt like we had stepped into a piece of history, warm and inviting, it felt like home! Perfect weather, plenty of space for our family and friends, and such a lovely setting. We met the sunrise each morning from our bedroom, what a treat! Sandra was very pleasant to work with, she answered all of our questions and set us at ease. I highly recommend this house, you will love it too.

Pokomoke July 2013
This property completely fullfilled our expectations for a large group who desired a relaxing, comfortable stay on Sebago. The house is tastefully decorated in characteristic Maine Cabin charm complete with a few creaky flooboards, wooden walls and more. The views of the lake from the house interior are spectacular and can be seen from virtually every room.
Our group consisted of 5 couples; my wife and I and our 2 close friends and our 3 grown children and their significant others. The sleeping arrangements worked out very well for all of us. Our friends used the futon in the family room and said that it was very comfortable. Our kids almost fought over who would sleep in the cabins.
The living room and family room/ dining area are much larger and accomodating than the pictures suggest. We were all able to eat together at the 2 tables in the main dining area which was important for us and we enjoyed many evenings playing cards, dominos and other games together at these tables. The fire pit was fantastic and the dock offered a large enough area for all of us to enjoy time together either sitting or swimming. The stairs down to the shoreline were "challenging" (all 54 of them) but we welcomed the exercise to offset all the food and snackin' we did during the week.
My wife and I and our family have been vacationing in the Sebago Lakes region for more than 25 years but this is our 1st year on Sebago. This lake is so much clearer and cleaner than many others weve been on. The western shore is also much quieter and less populated than the east side which made this property that much nicer. Thank you for a lot of great memories!!

Great Waterfront Vacaton Getaway
The coziness of the rental was wonderful. The home has been in the family for quite some time and has a real cabin feel. Our party of 8 had plenty of room to share meals, watch sports, and most importantly enjoy the lake. Although it was 54 steps down to the dock, it was so lovely there. If we were not out on the boat, we spent the day on the dock, soaking up the sun and swimming off the dock. Our lab was in heaven! This rental also has two additional buildings which sleeps a total of 5/6 more people. Our family that stayed in these cabins enjoyed the privacy and found the accommodations clean and comfortable. The best seafood we had was a short drive to Cornish at a place called Bar Harbour 2 Lobster Pound. So many seafood options that were fresh and super delicious. Go early as the wait can be over an hour. Grocery shopping was convenient. A 10 minute ride to Hannefords. We just found this spot perfect for all our needs.
