Immaculate newly renovated home overlooking the harbor. Each of the rooms have it's own scenic view. The terrace outside has a wonderful harbor view great for relaxing and barbequing outside and even a small yard for children to play. Downtown Boothbay is only steps away where you'll find amazing artesian shops, restaurants, and bars, my personal favorites being Port of Italy and Fisherman's Wharf. Downtown you'll also find many of Boothbay's best attractions including kayaking in the harbor, scooter and bike rentals, seal and whale watching and light house cruises. One of my favorite day trips is to Cabbage Island where they have wonderful authentic clam bakes in the summer. Another activity is to visit Barrett's park located on the other side of the harbor which is a very picturesque cove great for swimming and hiking. Also close by you'll find a lovely Botanical Garden and an aquarium. Less than an hour drive away you can visit the beach at Reid State Park and Acadia National Park is three hours away. If you've never been to Boothbay Harbor it is a trip you must take, my family has been visiting this beautiful place for over fifty years for a good reason!

Great location. I didn’t realize 3rd bedroom was in the basement, which was fine. We were all adults, I wouldn’t have liked if I had small children. House was well supplied.
No air conditioner, tight corners, very safe neighborhood. Would have been nice to have a large pot to cook our lobsters, bought one and left there. Lots of blankets and towels, no shampoo, conditioner or hair dryer. Will be back as location was perfect!
This place is at a great location to explore Booth Bay Habor. It has harbor views. The kitchen is well stocked and has every you need if you feel like cooking . The host responds quickly if you have any questions. We found Google Maps is not accurate with location of this address. Google Maps wants you to make a left turn instead of a right turn upon arrival to house.
We had an amazing 3days in Boothbay Harbor. The highlight of the property is the location! Walkable to all shops, restaurants, and docks. We travel using VRBO very regularly and own several rental properties ourselves. The property could use a deep clean and some updating… but it is at a lower end price point for a reason. If you are super picky or a germaphobe this is not the property for you! It was comfortable and served our needs just fine.

Filthy and falling apart
The carpet was very old, discolored and dirty. Foul order throughout the house. Handwritten warning note on back door that stairs were unsafe. Furniture old, smelly and extremely uncomfortable. Shower leaked on all sides all over bathroom floor. Dirty, beat up walls that were literally separated from each other. So many things stuffed into kitchen cabinets there was no place for guest items or food storage. Stairs to front door were slanted and unsafe. Many, many more issues for a high rental price.
My family and I had a very nice stay. The house was very clean and the location can’t be beat! It’s an older home so the space was a little cramped for my 6’4”, 250 lb. husband but he managed ok. The back yard was set up well with comfortable seating and the parking space accommodated our Dodge Ram 2500. My only recommendation is the owner(s) buy a new master bedroom mattress. Otherwise, the stay was great and the price was reasonable. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Cute saltbox style house close to downtown and with beautiful views of sunset and the harbor. Great for kids (stairs are steep for 2 and under). Had everything we needed. A small issue came up shortly before we arrived. The owner was great about communicating with us and generous about resolving it. We had no issues finding the driveway during daylight but it would be tough at night. The road/driveway are a little steep and may be difficult for those with mobility issues.
Like to compliment Susan on her communication and openness to offer suggestions to this newbie family as we vacationed to Maine. Was pleased to meet her in person as she is a lovely, warm person and her love for the property shines through! I felt honored to have the privilege to rent a property that her family has enjoyed for years and years!
Downsides: I can’t live here year round and my iPhone maps couldn’t figure out the location initially. It isn’t a fault of the house that my phone (and my husband) stink at directions. Listen to landmarks provided by host to locate. No bath tub, which we didn’t care about, but others might if young ones (upstairs bath has detachable shower head for convenience).
Positives: being a salt box, it is tall three story property, which means amazing views from three sides! It was comfy, well equipped (dishes/utensils, towels, bug spray even, bedding, washer/dryer, fans) and clean. There were 7 of us (3 generations), so the three floors with the lower level being a “bunk room” with three twin beds was perfect (kids room!). You could use as a separate space since stairway door locks and own entrance if choose to use. We never used the sofa bed though is one. The walkability to everything in town was such a huge bonus! Amazing! It is like the best mixture of a relaxing escape, but also a quaint and yet vibrant town full of great restaurants and shops. Not crazy crowded or overly touristy. You can even walk to catch a boat for a whale watching tour. It felt like stepped back in time to an old fishing village and yet modern conveniences, relaxation, & treats easily accessible. Being a short walk made it easy and enjoyable for my parents as well...and my lazy kids...and me after stuffing myself full of clams, pizza, popcorn, and ice cream from local places. You can just roll up that hill and enjoy the view from the house!
We enjoyed staying in the harbor. We were really close to everything we wanted to do and this convinced us to continue to stay in the harbor on our next stay. The property fit what we needed. There were enough beds for everyone, but the big bed upstairs was 2 beds put together which made it a little uncomfortable. The living room/kitchen area was a little small, so we were unable to do a big family dinner due to this, so we ended up eating out more than usual. With less people in the house, it might not be an issue. There were also a lot of knick knacks around the house so I would not stay with small children. We had teenagers with us, so this also was not an issue for us. Overall, this property fit what we needed for our stay.
The location and views were absolutely amazing, had a few issues at first but Susan took good care of us and our stay was great. Will definitely try to stay here again.

Slow start to a great weekend
Overall home was nice in a great location to downtown wharfs and shopping! 2 bathrooms made it very nice and convenient. I must say though not a good check in process, phone number on listing was apparently not the listed property owner so difficult check in process with little communication!
We did in the end have a good vacation weekend and we all enjoyed ourselves & we ate a lot of lobsters 🦞 !!!!!
Loved this house - very comfortable and plenty of room for
all!!! Super great location - walking distance to everything in town!!! We had a wonderful time - thank you for letting us stay!!!
Sitting on a hillside near the harbor, this property has a great setting. It is a great place for exploring Boothbay Harbor and all that it has to offer.
We loved the location and view. Watched fireworks from the driveway. Property is well stocked with all the essentials. Worked well for 4 adults + 1 baby. Walking distance to everything. The neighbors were all so friendly and helpful.
Great location, steps from all Boothbay Harbor has to offer! The downstairs smelled a little damp, but otherwise the home was tidy and well suited to our family of four.
Location, location, location. This house is right in the center of the action and has incredible views. I don’t think that I knew the third bedroom was in the walk out basement, but that was not big deal for our teenager. Property owners were very easy to get ahold of and were very responsive to our few calls/texts. Internet was spotty, which was challenging for the FireStick that we brought. However that just meant we unconnected more, which was the point of the trip.
We enjoyed our stay in this property in Boothbay! The location was unbeatable - right in the middle of downtown, within walking distance of plenty of great food options - though a little bit hard to find if you're arriving for the first time at night. (Shouldn't be any problems in the daytime.)
The house was a little smaller than we anticipated, but comfortable and with everything we needed. The Wifi worked great, as did the laundry machines. We had four adults for the weekend, and with more than that it might have been a bit squeezed, but with that many (or with a couple more kids) it should suit everyone's needs.
