The place was perfect for just my dog and I. I got sick before coming here and I was currently doing a roadtrip. It had everything I needed. I would’ve enjoyed it more if I wasn’t sick at the time of stay.
Online reservations were easy. Property owners stayed in contact regarding checking in, how to navigate unfamiliar roads and good tips. Cabin very well stocked for what you would need. Perfect setting for my getaway weekend. Love that we could bring our dog!
A Must See & Stay! 💯 Percent Clean & Beautiful ❤️ To learn the History of how this place came to be was So Awesome! Captain John Cline has Worked VERY HARD to make this an Amazing Vacation Getaway. I Highly Recommend to Go for a "Get- Away"! Sean & Stacy
We had rented this cabin the week prior and a lovely skunk must’ve wanted to join in. The smell was so strong that it was hard to be in the cabin. The owner was gracious enough to move my son to a different cabin across the road. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful.
The cabin was lovely! Adorable small door, comfy sitting room, cozy kitchen… everything was perfect for our needs. So much to do and see. This was a time of heavy rains so a few roads were flooded but we just turned around. Drove many roads through the marsh, stopped everywhere we could, listened to birds and identified them. Enjoyed the observation tower near Scout cabin at sundown. Stunning beauty! Ate at the golden star family restaurant in Linton and enjoyed đơn home meals. Also found lots of geocaches at random places. So much fun! The host was gracious and readily available. Very helpful Thank you for a wonderful time.
Pleasant Grove is the place to stay for birding at Goose Pond!
If you're birding at Goose Pond, Pleasant Grove Farms is the place to stay! They have an inn and several cabins of different sizes. We stayed in the Scout Cabin, a small cozy space surrounded by lawn, carved out of the grasslands. It's perfect for one or two people. The main room has an electric fireplace, a recliner and an easy chair, and a table with two chairs. The compact kitchen (microwave, small refrigerator, hot plates, sink) is in a nook. The spacious bedroom, with a large closet, and the and shower-equipped bathroom are each off the main room. There's small porch with a grill and a gazebo out in the lawn. The cabin is warm and cozy, and nicely decorated. The hosts responded immediately and provided us with lots of useful information such as good places to eat. They couldn't tell us where the birds were --- nobody can --- but the property is right next to Goose Pond so it was easy to go out and look. Pleasant Grove is a very pleasant and convenient place to stay!
I had a lovely weekend. It was cold and rainy, so I stayed inside and read a lot of the time. Very quiet and peaceful, only heard sounds from animals all weekend. The liens were wonderfully soft, everything was clean and better than I expected!
This cozy cottage offers the best in comfort, seclusion, and ease of use. The linens and bedding are resort quality. Another cottage can be seen, but not heard. (walk the farm). Check-in was a breeze, with prompt communication and instructions. For all this unit has to offer, I highly recommend it in any season!
The property and the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The staff was very communicative ahead of time and relatively hands off during my stay unless I needed something. What a wonderful little place to get away!
Staying at the scout cabin was so much fun. My boyfriend and I brought our two dogs along and they loved it, too. It was peaceful and I enjoyed listening to all the different birds, especially the Bob white quail. The lookout shelter was cool to sit in and admire nature. A red winged blackbird flew right by there when I was sitting in it. Everything you need is in the cabin and then some. It even has cable, a microwave, a fridge with snacks and pop inside, and a grill. There was even a fan in the closet, which I used. I would bring your own pillows though. Theirs were really fat, made popping noises when you tried adjusting them and uncomfortable.
