Your Hiding Place | Blissful Retreat

This country home is located only a few miles from downtown Fredericksburg. Surrounded by magnificent trees, guests will treasure the home's country porch complete with comfy Adirondack chairs. The porch is an ideal place to enjoy the abundant wildlife and nature found on the property, including deer, rabbits and an array of birds. Your Hiding Place has been lovingly built and furnished to enjoy the very best of country living.

Inside the a-frame beamed ceiling and pine floors highlight a spacious living room/kitchen. A large sofa and two comfy, elegant rocking chairs are placed to enjoy the gas-log fireplace or watch the television. The roomy kitchen has a small refrigerator, two burner stovetop, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. Pine beaded cabinets are found on one wall with table and chairs placed by the windows to enjoy the wonderful views of the countryside.

A king-size bed is found in the romantic bedroom, which is placed to enjoy the double-sided gas-log fireplace. Take pleasure in the large soaking tub found in the corner of the bedroom designed to get pleasure from the fireplace on those cold winter nights. An adjacent bath has a large glass shower.

The location of this country home is perfect for walkers and cyclists. Three country roads near Your Hiding Place guesthouse is great for walking, jogging, bicycling, or bird watching. Your hosts will provide binoculars and bird books in case you encounter a rare sighting. There is also the Palo Alto Creek flowing just a short distance down the road.

*Please be aware that the cottage does not have wifi or internet.*

Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Amazing stay at The Hiding Place!! The amenities were fabulous -,breakfast items, fresh flowers throughout the house,'feeding the deer, watching the hummingbirds. Clean and well kept house and property. We definitely will stay here again!!!

Exceptional stay in the peaceful hills above Fredericksburg

My wife and I greatly enjoyed this charming cabin located in the hills above Fredericksburg. You're close enough to get into town for anything you need but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle that has transformed the town. The owners are a wonderful couple who supply an incredible spread for breakfast. The cabin itself is cozy, located in a copse of trees where you will be visited by deer (looking for the deer corn thoughtfully left by the owners) several times a day. There's a lovely pass-through gas fireplace that gives comfort during cold days and nights. It's just comfortable and we look forward to returning.

Wonderful Retreat

We have stayed at several places in the area but this one is the best! Great accommodations, beautiful setting and well furnished. Very convenient to town and other attractions but still has a wonderful rural setting. We will be back!

Amazing!

This was my 1st time staying at a B&B, and I must say it was great. The location is perfect being just a few minutes out of town and nestled in the trees. The hosts prepared the place like we were family visiting. It was very welcoming and comfortable. Sitting on the porch watching the birds in the quiet mornings and evenings was exactly what we needed to relax. This will definitely be my 1st choice the next time I stay in Fredericksburg.

Beautiful and Peaceful

This was a fantastic place to spend a few nights. The cabin was beautifully appointed, very clean, and super comfortable. We enjoyed the calm of sitting on the porch watching birds and deer and just being in nature. Close to Enchanted Rock with its trails and flowers. Thank you for sharing this lovely place!

Charming and Cozy

Couldnt have asked for a better place to stay for our anniversary! The special details made everything so personal and will definitely bring us back! From the chocolate cake to the complentary bottle of wine. The kolaches and pastries were excelent! We loved watching the deer sitting on the porch with a glass of wine. We had some pretty crazy weather but the metal roof and fireplace made it feel so cozy! We will definitely be back!

How It Should Be

This is how a vacation rental should be. We were welcomed with an open door and a personalized note to us. THERE WAS NOT A LIST OF DEMANDS OR THREATS. The place was so clean. Even the front porch was swept clean of pollen and spider webbs. It is evident that the hosts have experience. There were so many little details that were addressed; fresh flowers, music playing upon arrival, wine set out, fruit & delicious cake. We especially appreciated the extensive cd collection. Would highly recommend The Hideaway to fellow VRBOs. Thank you to our hosts for providing us with such a terrific experience.
