About this property

Honey Creek Cottage | Relax and Unwind in the Scenic Hill Country

Tucked amongst oak trees, Honey Creek Cottage is a wonderful getaway. The batten board cottage is a true hill country treat. The front porch overlooks tree tops and a valley below. With comfortable rocking chairs available, you'll want to take advantage of the peace and quiet. Inside, soaring ceilings offer a wonderful open space that reflects the expansive countryside just outside the front door. A lovely set of sofa and chairs face a large stone fireplace and comfortably view the satellite television with VCR and DVD. The simply tailored curtains allow light in and don't hinder the wonderful hill country views. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for any culinary desires.

Downstairs, the master bedroom with its king bed is tastefully decorated with a traditional country style. The fresh blue walls and plenty of light filled windows exude a relaxing atmosphere. Just outside, you'll find a private deck with a wooded view. Luxuriously oversized, the bathroom is downstairs and has a tub and shower. With warm honey colored walls and creamy pressed tin ceilings, you'll take a refreshing step back in time. The spacious loft bedroom offers a queen sized bed topped with a cheerful daisy inspired quilt.

Enjoy these serene seven acres, which offer quiet walks with views overlooking Honey Creek Valley, or simply enjoy relaxing or visiting in the privacy of the cabin. On the bottom part of the seven acres is Hillside Cabin, which sleeps up to four. Perfect to add those family and friends that might be traveling together.

Great House

Great vacation spot. This is our second time coming here. A few issues. The bathroom lighting is terrible. Couldn't see to put contacts in or put on my makeup. The ceiling fan in the great room didn't work. The charging station on the bed side didn't work. One of the ceiling fans on the front porch didn't work. Other than these issues, it was a really nice stay.

Honey Creek

Honey Creek was a wonderful cabin and we really enjoyed our stay. Gausthaus Schmidt was so easy to work with as well. One item to improve: change the mattress in the downstairs bedroom. It was incredibly bad. We would definitely stay again with this one update. Thank you!

We always enjoy our stay at this cabin. The cabin does need better lighting. The lighting in the bathroom is very poor and needs improvement. The Christmas decor was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!

Stay at Honey Creek , Fredericksburg, Tx

We really enjoyed our short visit. The cottage was so well done and we felt at home. I would say, the toilet and paper holder were very low and not made for elderly. The oven needed cleaning, but all in all, we hope we can go back there for a longer stay. It will need some TLC before long, though.

Peace & Comfort

Just the best place to enjoy Fredericksburg's October Fest. A mere 7 miles away from the festivities in a truly great setting. The Honey Creek cottage was outstanding!

Nice cabin

We enjoyed our stay for the most part, however the bathroom lights are very dim, making it hard to see. The dining room lights aa well. Also the upstairs bed is extremely hard and uncomfortable. I had a hard time sleeping.

Honey Creek

Nice cabin and location but we had to leave a day early because of forcast flash flooding and couldn't risk not being able to cross creek to get to highway. Mattress is very uncomfortable and lumpy needs to be updated with new firmer mattress. DVD wouldn't work just said unable to load and tried several different supplied movies. saw deer and coyote from porch

What a ride

This is our third time staying at Honey Creek Cottage. This is the last time we will be here I fortunately. We arrived on Thursday and a halacious storm brought the worst storm i have ever seen! The roof started leaking so we were instructed to put buckets out to catch the leaks. So that Night was a complete wash. The foliage around the cabin that is dead is in abundance and need for trimming. I felt like I was settling into a dead forest that looked like a hurricane 5 had hit it! Dead trees everywhere. I promptly made the poor hummingbirds their food as they had none, as well as fought bird food to full the feeders and seee corn for the deer blind you can barely see now due to overgrowth of bushes and dead trees. Saturday was beautiful, finally had deer come up to the cabin as we sat outside and enjoyed the one hummingbird feeder. The bed is still very comfortable, however the sofa and cheap chair need replacement in the living area. Very uncomfortable. This place needs some Love . The owner of the land has built a massive house just next door. We had to call because their wasn't a garbage can to dump Our pizza box and other stuff? Just weird . For the price I feel bird feeders and hummingbirds feeder shoujd be filled , along with some fresh spring flowers and a welcome card woujd go a long way! Bye honey creek!

Management was Excellent

We had a small problem and the manager fixed it immediately. The staff was super nice and friendly. The only thing we did not like was the lighting in the cabin was very dim, which made it hard to read and use the mirror in the bathroom. Very quiet and peaceful place.

Very nice! Further out of town than I thought. There may be an electrical problem - lights flickering in master bedroom. Thanka

Great place!

Great accommodations for our family vacation! Quiet surroundings and not far from downtown Fredericksburg! Also enjoyed our occasional morning visits from the deer and hummingbirds. We enjoyed our relaxing mornings and evenings on the front porch the most.

Cozy Home and Beautiful Property

The Honey Creek cabin so so charming and cozy and the property it’s on is beautiful! Saw lots of wildlife (deer, rabbits, cardinals and hummingbirds). The bed was super soft. The hot showers felt so nice after a day hiking Enchanted Rock (~30min away). It was really easy to get into town for nice meals and shopping (~15min). The home was well-stocked with cooking essentials. It was a great, relaxing retreat for us, and hopefully you to!

Pretty Cabin

We had a very nice stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Especially appreciate the coffee and creamers in the fridge! Only constructive criticism would be to put a larger flatscreen tv in the bedroom. The one there now is a tiny computer monitor size.

Honey Creek Cottage was great!

We really enjoyed our stay! Great location very quiet, the cottage was really clean and well-kept. Our suggestions would be brighter lights in the kitchen and bathroom, and the mattress in the main bedroom had a low spot in the middle. When we are back in the area, we will definitely consider coming back here.

Honey Creek was delightful!

Smooth process of arrival and departure. Wonderful country location, but close to Fredericksburg shops and wineries. We celebrated my Mom’s life here this weekend with family and saw cardinals. We had a lovely time. Cozy and comfortable.

R & R in the Hill Country

Girlfriends needed a rest and relaxation from the daily routine and found the perfect place! A beautifully decorated cabin in the country that was fully stocked. It was quiet and peaceful. The beds very comfortable. Porch sitting and star gazing at its finest. The cabin is a home away from home and we will book it again and recommend it to others.
