Woodford stay

Our stay was amazing and just what we needed. There was room for everyone, the house was clean and cozy! The front porch was my favorite. The kids liked the lake! Far enough away from town but still easy to get to. Will definitely be back!

Great place to stay!

We loved this cabin and it’s surrounding!! Everything g was very clean and plenty of space! I would recommend people take a couple screenshots of the directions and map before heading there because it’s a dead data zone for a bit but we found it and enjoy everything about our stay.

Amazing wilderness getaway!

Everything from booking to checkout was wonderful! The hosts were very communicative and helpful. The property was easy to find, in a beautiful secluded location. The place was clean and couch and beds were super comfortable. The views from the property were gorgeous and had tons of wildlife around to watch. Many hiking trails, waterfalls, and small towns to visit in a short drive. Will be coming back and recommend to anyone thinking of staying!

Perfect quiet cabin in the woods

Are you looking for a cute secluded cabin in the woods? If so, this is the perfect place! The cabin’s size is spacious and easily accommodated our family of 5. My children were thrilled to have such great WiFi! It was very clean and well stocked with all the things you would need for a great trip- full kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, plenty of towels and linens, and even a hair dryer! We had so much room to stretch out and enjoy the nature around us after traveling for several days. We really enjoyed the fire pit, full washer and dryer, and the amazing view of the trees changing color over the lake. We even were able to see the Northern Lights one night!!! It is in a great location and close to Munising. We will most definitely be booking again!

Very clean, comfortable and private lake cabin

We loved staying at this cabin. It was very clean, comfortable, private and in a beautiful location on a small lake. There was plenty of room for our party of 3. We had hoped to use the kayaks but ran out of time. If we return to the area we will definitely try to stay here again.

Great getaway!

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The owners made us feel welcome and responded to all emails and texts. The area is very secluded and is great for getting away from city life while being centrally located to all the beautiful things the UP has to offer. We visited Oswalds Bear Ranch, did a Pictured Rocks tour and saw the Tahquamenon Falls. We would highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to the UP!!!

Welcomed Respite

Nestled in the serene setting of the Woodford Cabin, you'll find a cozy retreat with all the simple amenities you need for a relaxing stay. As soon as we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained the cabin was - the photos truly don't capture its charm. Perfectly accommodating three adults and two children, the cabin offered excellent internet connectivity. There was a well-equipped kitchen with all the essential cookware for preparing meals. The convenience of having a full-sized washer and dryer on site made it easy to take care of laundry during our stay. Plenty of fans to circulate the air. The comfortable beds were thoughtfully stocked with plenty of pillows, and we appreciated the extra blankets tucked away under the bed for chilly nights. The fire pit was set up for safety and containment, ensuring a cozy evening by the fire. It's clear that the hosts of the Woodford Cabin put love and care into every detail, striving to anticipate and meet the needs of their guests. Overall, our stay was a delightful experience thanks to their thoughtful hospitality.

Rustic Chic

Well off "beaten path", which gives it peace and quiet. Even so, Tahquamenon Falls, Grand Marais, Seney Wildlife Reserve, and Toonerville Trolley are all withing an hour's drive. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We felt though that Kleenex and shower soap would have been welcome. I would note that, with only one bathroom, the cabin was just right for us, but filling out the sleeping capacity of up to 9 people could be problematic.

Wonderful Getaway

We visited August 1st - August 5th. This cabin was great for our family of 8 adults. It was clean and had everything we needed. The weather was perfect and the bugs were not too bad. We enjoyed looking at the lake and having coffee on the large front porch. The hummingbirds were fun to watch. They were really enjoying the nectar!! For dinner it was just a short ride to Grand Marais. The Lake Superior Brewing Company had great food. We also visited the Au Sable lighthouse (a mile and a half hike to get there but it was great looking out at the top of that lighthouse!). It was a little longer ride to Munising but well worth it. We did the Pictured Rocks boat tour and spent a few hours at beautiful Sand Point Beach. One afternoon we visited Oswald’s Bear Ranch. But my favorite was Garlyn Zoo (we did that on our way to the cabin the first day). We would definitely love to come back. Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful cabin !

Wonderful time in a secluded cabin

Overall: We really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this cabin. I will try to describe some of the things that you can't know by just looking at the photos and reading the descriptions. Cabin: It was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. There is a large selection of family board games available. The electric outlets were wisely utilized with night lights, USB charging ports and safety devices. Emergency and other helpful information was clearly posted on the refrigerator. The washer and dryer were very modern and nice to have. There were extra blankets under every bed. Outdoors: If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. No matter where you walk on the property you cannot see another person or building. You can easily spend a few hours hiking on the paths on the property and still not see anyone. The lake is very calm and the kayaks fun to use. There is a shed where the boats are stored that also contains firewood that can be purchased. This was very convenient. Area: The cabin is only about 10 minutes away from the town of Grand Marais and the entrance to Pictured Rocks. If you want to see the Northern Lights, there is a large viewing area by the beach in Grand Marais. The drive to Munising is about 50 minutes. The direct route takes you through quite a bit of gravel roads on Adam’s Trail. You might find it better to take the longer way on routes 77 and 28 which are paved and only 5 minutes longer. Owners: The owners are terrific, very helpful and quick to respond. Mitch took the time to answer our questions and provided advice based on what we were planning to do.

Nice cabin - If you like mosquitoes and heat

This cabin has strengths and areas that we think need improvement. Strengths: Near a small pond, well stocked kitchen, very clean and tidy, Pleanty of room for parking and assorted games inside. Weaknesses: Beds in the two main floor bedrooms are full size. We ended up sleeping in separate rooms because the beds are so small. There is no AC, which I can understand because it typically doesn't get very warm in the summer. It did for us - mid to upper 80's which led to a high temp in the cabin of 79F. Not totally unbearable, but also absolutely not comfortable. There are fans available but only helped a little. Being a cabin owner and renter ourselves, we give guests discounts when the AC is non-functional and things become uncomfortable. I think the owner in this case should have offered some type of discount. The worst part were the mosquitoes. There were literally 150-200 perched on my bedroom window first thing in the morning. They were everywhere. We had to run from the cabin to our vehicle to avoid being attacked by them and had about 30 of them in our vehicle after quickly throwing everying in our vehile on departure day. The owner really needs to take some type of action to mitigate them for guests. A treatment or even several bug zappers on the porch and in the driveway would be helpful. You can't enjoy the porch or firepit because there are so many. There's no point in touting the outside of the house if you can't enjoy it because of the mosquitoes.
