My husband and I love going to your place in the fall. The house is simple yet everything we wanted. The land is AMAZING. We will definitely be back for a fifth year!
This is my third year staying in this cabin. It’s one of my favorite places to bring my kids during the fall deer season. The cabin sets the mood for the fall hunting season. My kids especially love the old time gas lighting. I can’t recommend the place enough to enjoy all Northern Michigan has to offer.
Communications were very good, very helpful in planning. There were many thoughtful touches. Reasonably clean. Plenty of supplies.

Not what I expected
I was fully prepared to stay in a rustic cabin. The reviews said how clean the cabin was. But immediate upon entering I encountered mouse poop on the kitchen counter. I am terrified of mice, and then upon further inspection I found more on both couches and the coffee table. Needless to say we packed up a day early and came home.
The cabin was cute and quaint, great location. Quiet neighborhood and nice property ( we would love to own it)! The house needed a few updates but was great for a weekend! Beds were not super comfortable and it could have been a little cleaner but for a cabin the woods it was perfect!
Get together with all the ladies in our family. Had a blast! Cabin was perfect. Enough space for 8 of us. Kitchen was fully stocked with all dishes, utensils and with Patio and bonfire couldn’t ask for anything else.
Me my Best friend my daughter and her daughters had the most amazing time ever!!! Fire tubing down the river and just catching up with one another thank you
Only 1/2 mile to the Whirlpool drop off. If we had kayaks or canoes we would have brought them. Only 35 minutes to Forest Dunes golf course. Enjoyed the quiet of this rustic home. Would love to know the history of it - since there were lantern lights.
We’ve stayed at many rustic homes and enjoyed immensely. However some basic things stand out - TV stand lots of dust and fridge drawers needed a clean. We cleaned both and took only minutes. Also swept the front and back porch while had lots of tree debris. Recognize the tree debris but easily tracked in during unloading. We swept and after 2 days not much fell.
Absolutely everything we needed was supplied. Our host was reachable and very helpful. We had some warm weather although fans were in every room so we stayed comfortable. We enjoyed the stay.
We had a wonderful stay in the cabin. It was rustic enough to feel like it was in the middle of nowhere, but had all the amenities that we could have needed. Perfect spot to stay for a large group or a single couple. Short drive to town, the river, and even golf courses. Would definitely stay again!
Would have been nice to know that although the property has a TV , it is not hooked up to cable or antenna. That would be nice to inform people about.
I would not recommend bringing a spouse (woman) to this rental. The appearance when you walk into the back door with the rotting under the entry door is not very appealing.
There were a handful of chipmunks climbing in & out behind the base of the cedar wall outdoor shingles. Weren't sure if they could get in the place or not.
Floors did not look vacuumed. There were a few dead bugs throughout the place on the floors.
We had a heavy rain and without gutters the rain was coming down hard right over the doorway.
It was a cozy beautiful weekend. We enjoyed the cabin! The most comfortable bed was the bigger bed in the loft. We were out and about and didn’t spend much time there, but we loved the cozy cabin in the woods!
Loved my stay here! Everything was taken care of for us before hand, and it's a perfectly lovely place, especially if you're willing to light a fire in the wood burning stove. Haven't slept this good in a while, and got to enjoy a nice, secluded, cozy few days that I desperately needed. Owner is extremely responsive, highly recommend!
