The cabin is by New River State Park and New River Outfitters (15% discount for guests!). Minutes from downtown West Jefferson, and under an hour to the great shopping in Boone and Blowing Rock. You’ll love the spacious cabin, with its open floor plan, two stone fireplaces (gas/electric), two walk-in stone showers, stunning long range views. Enjoy paddling on the river or curl up for a warm bath in the claw foot tub, or just enjoy Netflix or Disney+ on one of the flat screen TVs!

Open beam floor plan with two stone fireplaces (gas logs upstairs, electric faux wood burning downstairs). Unique walk-in stone showers in both bathrooms. A claw foot tub offers a relaxing experience. Locust post banisters and railings around the stairs give an antique feeling.

Pets are welcome at no additional fee! With almost 2 fenced acres, your four-legged friends will have plenty of room to roam and play in the fresh mountain air.

On the spacious wrap-around deck, enjoy an evening meal with friends and family at the outdoor table with grill and hot tub nearby. Or sit around the fire pit and roast marshmallows with the kids. Four flat screen TVs throughout the house with Rokus and an X-Box One for your entertainment.

Peace and privacy

We had a wonderful time at this property. They thought of everything. It felt like a home and our dog loved meandering around the fenced in huge yard. The view from the deck is spectacular every day. We spent most of our time there enjoying the views, reading and relaxing .

Fantastic getaway for all!

From the beautiful views, paths through the woods, wonderful shopping in the nearby towns, the look and feel of the whole location spelled Cabin Awesome! Hot tub is fantastic, we loved s’mores around the fire ring, and every time we looked around we saw some new piece of decor that intrigued and got us all talking. Just a wonderful week in the mountains at a beautiful home. Thanks!

Fantastic

Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The yard was fantastic. The dogs loved it. Rick was great to work with. He was very attentive, sending me texts, making sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely book again.

Heavenly Retreat

Outstanding property, gorgeous views, a true mountain oasis. Very well maintained, excellent communications and the pictures online don’t do it justice. Two minutes from the New River State Park and a short drive to West Jefferson. Myself and the pups couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind. The huge fenced in yard was such a treat for the dogs and the hot tub was a bonus for the humans! Absolutely recommend this property to everyone looking for a mountain respite!

Great for relaxation

Great house with wonderful views. We especially enjoyed watching the cows and sheep in the pastures below. We cooked and grilled every night and the kitchen had all the essentials needed. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard and it was nice to be able to let them explore off leash. House was clean, we would return. Highly recommend!

Amazing House and Property!

What a beautiful house in the mountains! It is extremely comfortable and has everything you need. The pictures don’t do it justice. The views from the deck are fabulous. We hiked Grayson Highlands (about 40 min drive), and Elk Knob (50 min drive). Toured Boone (about 50 min drive). West Jefferson is about 20 min drive, and Boondocks and NRB are both worth the stop. Was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had in a while. Enjoyed the fire pit, and the hot tub was great after a day of hiking. We would definitely come back!

Heavenly Huckelberry Hideaway

If you want peace, quiet, serenity, a beautiful view and a dog paradise, this is your place. Todd was great and easy to communicate with. This place is heavenly, the photos do NOT do justice. Entire home and yard is fenced so zero stress for the furbabies. I will be visiting again! Thank you

The property was a lovely cabin in a beautiful area with views in several directions. The property manager was very helpful and available. We really enjoyed seeing the ponies at Grayson Highlands.

Lovely mountain cabin with fenced yard

Rick's mountain cabin is--just like everyone else has noted--even more beautiful than the pictures. The view is just as beautiful, too. The fenced yard is huge, and the fence is in good shape. We felt comfortable letting our dogs hang out, which made our trip that much better. We had everything we needed, thanks to property manager Todd. We will definitely be booking again soon.

This is by far my favorite. This was our first stay. It was lovely and I did not want to leave. It is quiet and relaxing. Spacious bedrooms, large covered porch, fenced yard, I could go on and on. The little details really mattered from the scented candles, flashlights to the BBW toiletries. It showed the owners wanted to make sure you had an experience.

Memorable Weekend

This was the perfect weekend for spending time with family. Comfortable and cozy with plenty of room. Great views of the mountains combined with farmland dotted with cows. The fenced in yard was a bonus for our dogs. The owner was amazing to work with. We will definitely be back.

A Splendid, Rustic Hideaway!

What a beautiful property! Wonderful fenced in yard with great fire pit and pastoral views. Long, wide deck. Inside was perfect - rustic touches like woven locust stair railings and beautiful stonework throughout. Good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom with stone shower and old clawfoot tub that was fabulous! Great location, too. Close to towns and lots of beautiful state parks. Looking forward to our next visit!

4th of July getaway

We had an amazing time! The house was awesome, our dogs absolutely loved the huge yard. The views are awesome! We loved the proximity to the New River state park, outfitters and West Jefferson downtown. We hope to be back soon!

Awesome cabin with fantastic views!

The cabin was beautiful and well equipped. We loved the gas fireplace and the dogs absolutely loved the huge fenced in yard! We definitely enjoyed our stay and hope to return, West Jefferson is a favorite destination of ours and we can add this cabin to the top of our favorites! Todd, the property manager was very friendly and attentive to our needs! Fantastic stay!

Great cabin with the views we were looking for

We had a great long weekend at Huckleberry Hideaway! The large fenced in yard was perfect for our dog and allowed us to relax without worrying about him running off. The cabin is well decorated and has plenty of electronic entertainment (TV/games/internet) for cold or rainy days. There are lots of chairs outside for sitting and enjoying the views of the mountains. The property manager, Todd, was super helpful and took good care of us. We'd stay again for sure!

Beautiful Cabin

Great cabin, not far from New River State Park. We really loved the cabin, the pictures really don’t do it justice; the stone work and woodwork are simply beautiful! While the house was nice, I think we spent most of our time outside. We loved sitting out on the deck, enjoying the scenery, gathering around the fire pit, and playing in the yard. We slept 2 kids and four adults very comfortably, we would consider staying here again for sure!

Rick grew up in the area, and this home was originally built by his grandfather. When the opportunity to purchase the property occurred, we just couldn't say no! It has turned into our family's favorite retreat, with amazing local activities for every season of the year.
