About the area
Ravello
Located in Ravello, this villa is near the beach. Villa Rufolo and Amalfi Cathedral are notable landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Atrani Beach and Amalfi Beach. Minerva Garden and Lift to the Sea are also worth visiting.
Beautiful property, spotlessly clean. As described throughout. Mario was a great help and nice to know he was available. Just loved the location and the sun and sea were just perfect.
As well as the view from the villa , the jetty with direct access to the sea made this house very special.

Beautiful outlook
The property was fine overall with lovely views of the coast. The downsides were the location right on the road with no footpath, and internal steps, as we had a 95 year old in our party. You need to be more upfront about this as we did ask directly. An information book would have been useful too, giving details on restaurants, buses etc.
Overall a nice relaxing week however.

Views to die for!
Monaco is a lovely part-traditional, part modern villa which works well for 1 - 2 couples or families. The place is clean, well equipped and there are the most incredible views from every window. We took the 200 steps down to swim in the perfectly lovely sea each morning, saw the moon and sun rise every day, had some fabulous BBQs and meals on the terrace. Although it is a great place from which to visit the sites of Amalfi, by the third day, all we wanted to do was stay at the villa, do local shopping in Minori, and of course go to the 'best pudding and cake shop in Italy' according to the locals. Once you've got to Minori, you don't really need a car because the sea-taxis are great and regular. Parking cost us an extra 150 EUR and we would have spent less if we'd just hired a taxi to and from the airport.
I am definitely coming back!

Great stay:
We stayed at "Il Monaco for a week in October 2012.It was a great week as the end of summer it was less busy. Firstly I would like to say the booking process was seamless. Anna(the owner) was very informative with my questions was also very efficient and speedy in taking our booking. We arrived mid- afternoon and was met by "Franco" First impression was that Franco was in a rush to process the payment and move on to the next letting. I was wrong Franco speak's good english,is charming, and always available. He has a great local knowledge of the area, can organise tours all along the coat to Capri,Iscia, Salerno, Pompei, Versuvious etc. He is a fantastic asset to use whilst you are there, dont be shy to ask him for anything.
The house itself was clean, set up for our need's and is well laid out on two floor's the three bedroom's are spacious with great view's and the kitchen is functional for normal vacational use. The view's from every room are to die for and the huge patio is a great bonus. There are barbecue facilities( we never used). The walkway down to the sea is also a great novel way to get some exercise and have a dip in the crystal water.
There is also an outside shower (near the clever laundry) again with a breathtaking view.. This was a necessity for "us" as with only one bathroom and us being two couples ( our parent's who are in their seventies) it was a little time consuming getting everyone ready for the daily excursions. There is an upstairs toilet and basin for the main bedroom. In my opinion and is only a suggestion there is plenty of space to add a full second bathroom which would assist couples travelling together. Parking is great, although a little challenging to get out onto the main road, so I suggest you reverse your vehicle in. There are many great restaurant's within walking distance and a good supermarket in nearby Maori. This is an ideal spot for a great holiday and with a couple of tweak's could be magnificent. No pictures, video's or clips can ever capture standing on the patio at Il monaco at dawn or dusk with a glass of something in you hand. Go experience the amalfi coast at least once in your life.
Let’s start by saying my 7 year old grandson Walked in the front door and looked out the windows in front of us and said “This place is amazing!” It truly was! Mr Mario is a gem! He arranged our transportation to and from the rail station. And was available when needed. Manori is a beautiful little town with pretty much everything you need. Bring your hiking boots/shoes and be prepared for many beautiful views. Now back to the house…lemon trees everywhere. House was clean and well appointed. Terrace outside looks over the water…spectacular views…And did I mention lemons? Would go back tomorrow. Thanks again Mr. Mario!
The villa, the property and the view are beyond amazing. However, the absolutely best part of our stay was our outstanding host, Mr. Mario! While being completely professional, he made us feel like family and was very responsive to all of our needs. From arranging transportation to boat trips and recommending day trips and restaurants. Could not have asked for a better host. Thanks so much, Mr. Mario!
A beautiful property: each bedroom is self-contained so it is excellent for friends. Walking down through picturesque Amalfi foliage to a swimming platform and diving into the Mediterranean is beyond compare.
Amazing through and through! The house was perfect for 7 adults ages18-60. Spacious, clean and the outside space was perfect! The swim platform was such a plus. While there are a lot of steps to get to it, if you take your time you will be ok. The house is located close to Minori which was perfect for meals and shopping. The views were spectacular. Mario, the host, was awesome. He helped with transfers, golf cart rides to town, restaurant suggestions and any questions we had. We can not thank Mario enough for making our stay so pleasurable. While we did not bother him often, he was so attentive to our needs. Do not hesitate to book Amalfi Dreams!
What a treat to stay at Amalfi Dreams Il Monaco! It is perfectly located right on the sea but away from the crowds of Positano or Amalfi. I would first like to say that I believe Mario is the best, most helpful and accommodating host we have ever encountered in a vacation rental. He hooked us up with a taxi van from Salerno, the golf cart guy for little runs down to Minori for groceries, and he recommended the most delicious restaurant (the Alba, right up the road to the left) we ate in during our entire 2 week trip to Italy.
Each room in the house has a spectacular sea view but our favorite place to hang out as a family was on the patio right outside the living room. Even on a rainy day it was still the best place to be. The view, and the lovely smell of the honeysuckle and lemon trees was so charming. We appreciated having the washing machine, and everybody’s laundry dried easily overnight.
The only drawback to the house is the potentially dangerous road but if you’re careful and attentive you can walk into Minori without any issue. I would not recommend this house for families with young children for this reason. We used the ferries to get to Positano, Amalfi, and to Salerno to get the train to Pompeii. I definitely wish we had stayed longer in this fabulous house!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Il Monaco in April 2024. The house is just as pictured, the views were stunning, and three couples each had privacy from each of the three bedrooms. Mr. Mario and his connections were very helpful during our stay. We enjoyed the small town of Minori and all it had to offer and it was just a short walk away from the villa. We’d love to visit again!!
would stay again. pictures are definitely accurate. Property is on the main road but beautiful overlooking the water and a short walk to Minori and moderate hike/walk up to Ravello!
Nice location with breathtaking views. With one of the bed and bathrooms located on the entrance level, we had some privacy as the rest of us was in the rooms downstairs. A highlight is the private space at the sea. Also to mention is Mr. Mario who was always available for any questions.
What a treat it was to stay at Il Monaco! The rooms are beautiful, clean, well-appointed, and each one has an incredible view. The kitchen had everything we needed. The outdoor spaces are delightful--we rarely sat inside but instead used the outdoor table and lounge chairs. The swimming platform is incredible! We saw very few of them along the coastline and it was such a treat to have access to the sea whenever we wanted. It's about 180 steps down but the steps meander through beautiful trellises and greenery, it is quite lovely. Being able to walk into Minori (about 10 minutes) for groceries, shopping, and meals was great, and we also walked along the sea to Maiori, a larger town, and then walked back to Minori along the Path of the Lemons--a must-do! Mario was terrific, very responsive to our few questions and happy to provide local recommendations. I can't say enough about our stay, it was wonderful!
First start by saying the Host Mario went above and beyond making our stay amazing! He gave great advice and helped us maneuver around the area with ease. The house itself is stunning and the views are breathtaking. It is located 5 minutes from town. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would recommend it to everyone!
We stayed at this property for a month. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever enjoyed. The outdoor area and swimming dock were incredible. We loved the local town and never tired of the endless restaurant opportunities or local market options.
Mario was a wealth of local knowledge and helped us put together local adventures which exceeded our expectations every time. We appreciated Mario beyond measure.
II Monaco # 10 - Italia... You have our hearts forever!
Your home was stunning! The pictures online do not do it justice. When I walked inside and saw the views of the Mediterranean from every room, my hairs on my arms stood up! It was a dream come true! It was clean and organized and peaceful and charming from the terrace all the way down to the sea. We walked down to the cozy and welcoming town everyday and enjoyed the sights and delicious treats. All was within walking distance. We loved the small markets and restaurants. They were just so quaint. Such community feeling! We took a private boat tour of Amalfi Coast/Positano area that left conveniently from the same pier we arrived, just a few minutes down the road. Absolutely breath taking! So much to do here. We will be back. Ravello and your beautiful home, MARIO, and Italia have our hearts forever! Love G Family!
Mr Mario could not have been better at meeting us a nd assisting with transportation and any needs. Our Villa met every expectation and then some. Very large, clean, good location and incredible views of mountains and coastline. We have already recommended this property to another friend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in March 2023! It is a wonderful location outside of Minori and Mr. Mario was a fantastic host who helped us get comfortable when we arrived and took good care of us when we needed help getting around. Thank you Mr. Mario! Highly recommended :)
