Perfect location

Our family of 4 stayed at the cabin for 5 nights. The location of the cabin allowed us to walk to all the attractions in town. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped. Everything worked flawlessly! The Checkin process was easy! Excellent!

Convenient & Roomy

Comfortable, cozy, very clean, convenient location. Was pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the house. Plenty of kitchen items plus paper items. Plenty of towels in bathrooms & paper products. Did not need to bring anything but personal items. Garage was a plus because we stayed there for Thanksgiving & it was cold. Vehicle stayed warm because we did not need it being so close to town & my sister/brother in law’s house, who live around the corner. Will definitely stay there again!

Nice little house in town

Great location, about a 5 min walk to town. Appreciated the closet space since we were in for a wedding with many activities. The old heat pump unit is a little loud (more of a low rumble) but not too bad. We really enjoyed the stay.

Retreat with a treat

The retreat is obvious. The “treat” is that you are only steps from downtown Highlands. We walked every day to get the full experience. We’ve stayed in Hghlands several times but never where we could take casual strolls or walk to our shopping or dining destinations. There is so much more to Highlands than we ever knew. The Highlands Biological Station and Ravenel Lake was an unexpected treat and only minutes away by foot. Further into our walk were manicured lawns and Dahlia gardens that that were a feast for the eyes. We even got to experience the annual Rotary 5K run in support of local charities without leaving the porch! The house was perfectly appointed, well maintained (everything worked) and on a beautiful street. There was a deer in the driveway upon our arrival. Nice welcoming! One thing that really appealed to us was that we truly felt at home with people out walking in front of the house almost all day long. You felt like you were in a friendly family oriented neighborhood. We loved our experience and hope to stay in this same house again next year. That is a first for us!

Fantastic Property

My wife and I along with our 13 month old stayed here for three nights. The location was perfect! The street was quiet, and the house is very walkable to all the restaurants and shopping, even with a stroller! The house is very well maintained and clean! It looked as if was newly renovated and freshly painted. The host was very responsive the couple of times we had questions. 10/10 would stay here again!

True Feel of Highlands

The house is a little dated but that only added to the allure of Highlands. Think of it as an upscale cabin in the woods… except you’re less than a mile from downtown and the walk is amazing. Laird was extremely responsive despite our dumb questions and seemed as happy to help as we were to borrow her home for the weekend.

Great for a small family!

We loved this property and it’s proximity to Main Street in Highlands! It’s a very short walk to a cute pond with ducks and nice quiet neighborhood. We loved the front porch and we’re out there anytime we were home at the house!

Great location for exploring Highlands

Well supplied, comfortable home in an excellent location for exploring. Our little boy loved being so close to the pond, and we loved being able to walk to Main Street for ice cream or to the nature center to explore. The front porch rockers are perfect for morning coffees or evening wine; the only thing missing is more seating to dine outside.

Great getaway!

When we arrived, it was just after a hard freeze in the area. The heating needed attention and the owner sent someone out to repair it. It was fixed and we had heat! Great communication with owner; perfect location for town and the house was very clean and comfortable. A great getaway in Highlands to relax and enjoy our time. Even though it was drizzly weather, we still loved it all. The fireplace was wonderful!!

An actual walk to town property with a great flat road for kids biking, etc. Furniture in living room was different than pictured but still great for us. Great for our mother daughter trip. Laird was very responsive and we would stay again!

Stay for nieces wedding

rented the two houses, one in back of another. The houses were cute and very rustic decorated. The back yard was great, very scenic. Sitting on the deck at the big house was just beautiful. ( of course we were blessed with great weather. Clear instructions for staying, checkin and checkout were helpful. We would stay again…. maybe bring the grandkids.

Not what we thought from the pictures

Although the location was fantastic, the pictures are not up to date! There was one sofa, for 4 adults, in the den to share and the chairs in the pictures posted are not there. Dining room furniture was not the same either, orange plastic chairs are now there. Furniture on the back porch would have been nice but there was none. I would suggest updating the interior pictures on VRBO site to reflect what the current furnishings are. There was also a very musty smell and my husband's allergies were horrible the entire stay. Maybe some updating on the decor! We did have fun and could get to the town very easily!

Nothing is worse then going on vacation and spending all your time in the car. We like to park the car and spend our time hiking and exploring Main Street or feeding the ducks by the pond.
