The Cottage at Still Pond Farm - Horse Farm Stay near the Blue Ridge Mountains

Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Still Pond Farm is close to Charlottesville, UVA, the Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park, Monticello, and Virginia's wine country. Our farm offers beautiful mountain vistas in a rural and peaceful setting.

The famous landscape architects Wolfgang Oehme and James van Sweden designed Still Pond, creating a farm that harmonizes with nature. The sunrises and sunsets are breath-taking, as are the rainy and foggy days. Wildlife can be seen and heard at every angle, and the mountain views are always changing. Ideal for wildlife viewing, pastoral viewing, bird watching and stargazing. Our moon and star views are incredible.

Our cozy two-story cottage with loft and a wrap-a-round porch is comfortably decorated for a relaxing getaway. Set near our horse stables, the cottage provides access to easy parking with views of our barn, paddocks, natural pond and 60 ft round pen. Privacy woods are set behind the cottage.

Come experience the beauty and tranquility of life in the country. All guests will be treated like family!

The safety and well-being of our farm staff, animals and guests is our top priority, and please rest assured that our cottage is thoroughly scrubbed, cleaned and sanitized for each guest. In addition, we have implemented a mandatory 1-day between rentals.

Wonderful stay at Still Pond Farm

Great place for a family getaway … beautiful farm setting, mountain views, and plenty of wildlife in the area - we saw wild turkeys walking 20 feet from the dining room windows, and many deer on the morning walks. Charming cottage, plenty of room for our party of six. Clean and well equipped with modern appliances and air conditioning. The best part was the friendly cat that will greet you every morning on the front deck! Great location to visit the area wineries, tour Skyline Drive, or hike the mountain trails that are nearby.

Beautiful stay

This was a beautiful property with a cozy cabin. We enjoyed the friendly horses and Smokey the cat. It was quiet and relaxing and just what we needed for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of life. A lovely autumn weekend

My college friends and I had an incredible time exploring Charlottesville from the cottage at Still Pond. The home itself is beautiful and welcoming, and Smokie the cat was a real highlight. We loved the wraparound porch and beautiful scenery. Joanna was swift and communicative, and even brought us a new Keurig machine the day ours broke. I can’t recommend enough! Thank you, Joanna!

Fabulous Girls’ Trip!

We had so much fun visiting the wineries near Charlottesville. This property was a picturesque farm setting nearby and the log cabin was clean, roomy and filled with all the things we needed for our weekend. This was one of my favorite cabins to stay in!! I live the peaceful and quite and the beautiful horses to hug and take pictures with !! They were so gentle and the Fox who ran beside our car as we drove off one day❤️I loved the deer in the morning and I really loved Smoky the lazy cat who would follow me everywhere I went outside!! The cabin was awesome!! And I will return as soon as I can! It was our perfect vacation - A quite weekend with me and my husband of 30 years ! I would love to own this property !! Hint hint😂it was a 10!!!!

Stunning cottage. The photos do not do it justice. It is beautifully appointed and super clean. The property is beautiful, and having horses in the fields and a friendly barn cat walking around made it even more inviting and beautiful.

All was good with my stay but we had a few minor issues / suggestions. The upstairs shower did not have hot water. I would call it lujr warm. All the other shorts and sinks had plenty of hot water. One suggestion to the owner would be to have window treatments on the front main window. In the late afternoon the reflection off of the roof across the parking area creates a pretty bad glare.

Beautiful Property

The property is better than described. The rolling pastures, picturesque mountains and abundant wildlife are all amazing. The cottage is very clean and you will be greeted daily by the sweet barn cat on site. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, this is the place to be. We will be back for sure!
