Christmas in January Family Reunion

We had an amazing weekend with our families from NC. The house was very spacious, amazing kitchen, game room for the kids was so fun, and the property was great. We have many memories for the record books thank you!

Fantastic property

This is our 2nd time staying here. We were a large extended family staying here for an After Christmas Annual Gathering. Payton’s Peak was perfect for our 22 guest and one toddler group. So many fun things to do for all age groups. Plenty of space to cook and play together. The caretaker Josh was very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Thanksgiving at Payton’s Peak

For the second time, our group of long-time friends met for Thanksgiving at Payton’s Peak. It is ideal for our large group. The kitchen is so perfect for preparing the big meal. The children have lots space to run and play. We’ll be back.

Perfect home for a large group

Such a great home and property! We loved our time at Payton’s Peak and hope to come back again. The house has so much space - even enough seating for everyone at meal times. The property is private feels like a retreat. The charcuterie boards are such a great touch and came at the perfect time after a long day at the waterpark. We can’t wait to come back!

Best family vacation house to date

This house is beautiful and was perfect for our huge family of 29 ranging from 4 months to 70 years old. It had everything we could need. The maintenance man was so kind and installed the baby gates for us (which were already there). I would love to come stay here again!

Family reunion

This beautiful and unusual house accommodated the 25 of us with room to spare. The kids had myriad game rooms, toys and entertainment options. We had plenty of space to be all together or find a quiet space. The kitchen is well-equipped to prepare meals for and seat everyone together. Highly recommended for a shirt or long stay

Family Reunion

Thirty seven of us gathered from west to east coast. It was plenty of room! Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans, etc. Josh is maintenance man and very attentive to requests. Resort and area have plenty of choice activities .

East Coast Family Meetup

We were a group of 34 family members from 4 generations coming together from Cali, NC, Ga, Va, DC, Md and NY who met up for a short vacation. This house was perfect for us because there was space for everyone to be together and space for each age group to visit/play separately. We loved it and had a fabulous time.

Huge House and Very Unique

I had 28 guests for a women’s retreat and there were still plenty of extra beds for more people. We could all gather in the dining room for meals together which was a huge plus. The kitchen is large enough for 10 people to all be cooking at once. The furnishings in this home are very unique and quirky. Nothing matches, everything is a bit random and some furniture pieces are broken or damaged and need to be removed. It appears quite cluttered with all the furniture. However, the space is amazing and we had a wonderful time.

You Will Love This Place!

This is one of the most interesting homes and pieces of property you will find. It was our third year in a row and the property only continues to improve. This year, we decided to explore the grounds and took a hike to the top of the property. It has it's own overlook where you can see the ski slopes and the mountains. There is always something new on the property which this year included ping pong, video games and some very unique bar furniture! Kim, the owner, is always responsive and Joel, the caretaker, aims to please. We cannot wait for next year as we will certainly be back!

Perfect Space for Many Families to enjoy!!

This place was AMAZING!!! We had 8 families and 13 kids from age 4 to 17. Each family had their own room... with their own bathroom... and then all the kids had a place. That allowed all of us to have a space to relax if we wanted any down time. There were tons of games and things to do. We were lucky to have snow 1 day that the kids got to enjoy outside and then we had a great fire pit outside. They provided all the wood, which was perfect!! Will definitely look to stay here again for large gatherings. The host was amazing and the person that takes care of the property got trash every day and was the nicest man!! HIGHLY recommend!!

Perfect for Large Family Gathering

The size was perfect for our large group, especially the kitchen. The house was one of the cleanest rentals we've stayed in, which is impressive given the square footage. The fruit & cheese trays were an unexpected & thoughtful gift for new years eve. Per the recommendation of prior reviewer, we did bring a shower curtain rod to hang a fabric door for the one bathroom off of the large sleeping room to give privacy to that group, and it worked well. So much room to spread out over the weekend, that everyone had the space they needed. Overall a fantastic stay!

Jmu graduation weekend

The house was perfect for our son’s graduation. We had 34 family members come from all over the east coast. Family did snow sports at massanutten Friday night and Saturday afternoon and those that we could not get tickets for to actually attend, the graduation, were able to watch it on the live stream at the house. It worked perfectly. It was. Wonderful weekend and the kitchen / eating area could accommodate us all. Would highly recommend for large family gatherings and only a 25 minute drive to jmu.

Payton's Peak - Exceeded our expectations!

What a great place. Wood walls, wood ceilings, carved wood furniture, very rustic and very awesome! (I love wood in case you can't tell) We had so much fun. Great kitchen with everything you need and very high end appliances (wine cooler!, cold drawers, two sinks). We were spoiled. We had a fire outside one night, and every day the sunrises were great. The bar area over the garage hosted the Euchre games. Christmas was magical.

Amazing Thanksgiving Weekend!!

This home is absolutely beautiful and huge. We had a total of 16 and never felt crowded. The entire home is well appointed especially the kitchen. The host was wonderful and accommodating and Josh the caretaker was great. I would highly recommend this property. We had a blast.

Another amazing getaway!

This is our second time staying here and we loved it, once again! The house is HUGE, has everything you need! The host is incredible! She sent us a charcuterie board and snacks, we greatly appreciated that. We will be back next year for sure!!

family reunion

The property was beyond expectations. It was clean, well equipped. Lots of games for all age groups. The kitchen was an amazing place to cook for a large group. Anything we needed was provided. I don't think there was one item we might have needed that wasn't available. There were so many room choices that no one could not find one to their liking. The beds were comfortable. Good water pressure and no lack of hot water for all of us. Kim answered all my questions promptly.I can not say enough about how amazing this property was to all of us. We had an age range of 2-72 and everyone enjoyed their stay. We will definately rebook when we do our next reunion.
