Amazing Stay – Perfect Getaway!

We had an incredible time at this vacation rental! The home was exactly as described—clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the beds were super comfortable.The location was perfect—close to the beach, peaceful and private. The outdoor space was a highlight, with a great deck to view the horses around the NEIGHborhood. We even had a few in the front and back yard. The host was fantastic—responsive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a stress-free stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

Great find at Carova Beach

Great house and only a very short walk to the beach. The house is decorated with some beautiful horse prints and it is very spacious. The main level has two beds and a full bath on each side of the house, separated by the great room, with an additional bathroom and game room below. The house has everything that you would ever need for a fantastic beach vacation—fully equipped kitchen, with extra fridge and freezer, bed linens, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, life jackets, kayaks, a surf board, fire pit, hot tub… and the list goes on. Sunrise out the front, sunsets out the back. Kevin is a fantastic host! He helped us find the wild horses, recommended a great restaurant and even helped my mother find a souvenir lighthouse that she had been searching for. One of the horses visited on the last day to make it a perfect finish to our relaxing spring beach vacation. We will definitely rent this house again!

Excellent Experience

One of the best short vacations ever! House was as advertised and just a short block from the beach. When not out at the beach or exploring the island for wild horses, it was nice to relax, grill, start a fire, and soak in the hot tub. 10/10 will stay here again!

Wonderful stay

My husband and I booked Kevin's place for an off-season, long weekend getaway with our dogs and it was perfect. The house was just what we needed and the location was perfect. We could relax on the deck with our dogs while listening to the ocean or easily walk to the beach to watch the sunrise. We also had multiple visits a day from the wild horses, which was amazing to experience. Kevin was a great host and responded quickly to messages I sent. He also recommended a great place to get crabs before crossing into the island. We have already thought about when to come back and hope to do so soon!!

OBX adventure house

The only glitch was arriving in the dark after a long crazy drive, then navigating high tide driving on the beach. The accommodations were perfect. The host, very communicative and helpful. He even let us use his crab traps for a fresh caught meal. Highly recommend- but know you will have to watch the tide times!

This trip was one for the books. This was the week of hurricane Helene. You should definitely be an experienced driver to take your family here. The high tides were serious I loved the feel. Of being away from town but the ocean is your playground

It was fun and incredible Kevin was so attentive and his service was immaculate we loved this place so much we even stayed an extra day also we saw so many horses it was amazing my entire family loved it!

Quick weekend getaway

Had a great weekend! Loved the location and the house had everything we needed for a long weekend stay with my boyfriend and dogs. Would definitely recommend and would like to make it back again!

Stay in Carova

Overall the property was clean on arrival. Great amenities for the household. Loved the sand toys for our younger group. Only thing noticed was the tub/shower on the King side of the house would not stay on the shower. But i am sure that is an easy fix. Definitely would stay there again. Thanks Jim

Fantastic

Great stay, house was clean and well kept and had everything we needed to cook for the week, Kevin was an awesome host and we will definitely stay here again in the future. The horses were a fantastic plus to see roaming around the property every day.

Truly exceptional experience. The house itself was fantastic, exceeding all expectations. It was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach, offering breathtaking views and easy access to the water. Additionally, the host was wonderful. They were responsive, accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Spring Break

A very well appointed home. The owner was prompt and quick to respond. The beds were wonderful. Decor was relaxing and beachy. Living room furniture was comfortable. Large table for gathering. Horses visited in the yard!

Perectly described

This property was perfect for a vacation. It was very clean and well decorated. The downstairs would be a perfect place for older kids to hang out in the evenings or on rainy days. We saw the wild horses everyday we were there and that itself was a great experience. We really enjoyed the seclusion of this vacation. Kevin, the property owner, was very responsive to our texts and gave us information about anything we wanted to know. Would definitely recommend this place. We have had better results with VRBOs that have individual property owners versus large companies bc you get great individual attention/response. Kevin did not disappoint!

We LOVED it!

Our stay was fantastic! The property was just like it was listed, and absolutely gorgeous. Check-in was easy and I didn’t have to hunt any info down, everything was sent well in advance, along with tips for driving on the beach and tide info. We didn’t end up using the kayaks, etc. but it was still great to have the option. House was super clean and stocked with everything we needed for the week. Our dogs loved it too, and we saw lots of horses every day, they loved to come right up to the deck. The owner is fantastic! We absolutely loved it, and will definitely be back!

Amazing Birthday Beach Trip!

My boyfriend and I booked a long weekend getaway with our pup to celebrate my birthday and it was everything I had hoped for! We were specifically looking for a pet-friendly home since this would be the first beach vacation with our 1 yr old Labrador puppy. She had a BLAST and it truly made our experience that much more memorable! The house is in an excellent location, just 1 row back from the beach and only a few houses down from the beach access. It was very clean and just as described in the listing. It had everything we needed and was fully stocked with kitchenware, clean linens, cleaning supplies, and access to all kinds of beach gear which were all in good condition. We also loved the hot tub, the large deck facing the beach, and put the grill to good use! Kevin is a great host and is very personable, instantly making a connection with him! We reached out with a few questions before our trip and he was extremely responsive, even giving us a call to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Kevin offered great suggestions to enhance our vacation and continued to be responsive throughout our stay. He even reached out toward the end of our trip to inform us that no one would be checking in on the day that we check-out, welcoming us to stay as long as we'd like on our last day! Totally unexpected and such a great surprise! In all of my experience as a renter, I have never had a host offer that!! We will definitely be staying here again and can't wait to come back!

Perfect Beachhouse

My family with two small kids stayed for a week, last week of summer 2023. The house was perfect for us and had room for more. Its always nice to be able to bring our dog as well. We saw wild horses every day. 4x4ing in and out was always a treat and adults and kids loved it. The location is perfect. The house was very clean and very well appointed. We had everything we needed. Kevin was a perfect host with great suggestions and tips to improve our stay. He was very responsive from the time we booked. We are absolutely going to book this house again.

Carova beach stay

The property was perfect for our family of 5 and our pup. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and was very clean all around. The hot tub was a plus in the evenings. There were horses on the property nearly every day which was incredible! We parked our car on the beach every day with the provided passes. Bring whatever food you may need unless you have a true 4WD vehicle and have no problem with a 30 min drive on the beach (GPS can lead you onto some softer sand, don’t listen to it once you get to the beach access road, stay straight for 8 miles). Deliveries to this area will come with a typical $100 delivery fee. You can get ice and tshirts at the nearby firehouse. We also found a few ticks which are common in OBX so make sure to check after walking around. Overall great memories made and we will definitely look to come back and rent with this owner again. He was always responsive and very helpful.

True Relaxation

It was our first trip to Carova Beach but not our last. The house and beach delivered all that we hoped for. Perfect location to the beach and canal. We saw horses daily which was amazing! The house was perfect for my family of 7. It was stocked with everything we needed from pots and pans to kayaks and boogie boards. Kevin was so responsive to my questions and was a great host. We had a week of true relaxation!!

Great Stay!

The house is 1 lot back from the beach and several houses down from the beach access road. Kevin, the owner of the property was very helpful and lives nearby if there are any issues with the property. Kevin dropped off a large cooler with ice for our coolers when needed. The house is well equipped with everything you need including linens, fully stocked kitchen ware, cleaning supplies, beach chairs, kids beach toys, kayaks (3)...etc.

Perfect for our family

This house is perfect for a stay at the beach. I particularly liked the huge, enclosed outdoor shower which we used almost every day. All of the outdoor beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, etc. all worked and were in good condition. The house itself was efficient and well laid out.

Perfect Week on the 4x4

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Kevin’s lovely house. Kayaks for an enjoyable ride with the launch extremely close. Relaxing in a hot tub with wild horses grazing nearby. Comfortable beds, large kitchen and a family area with a newer tv with a clear picture. The Horses visited almost daily. Just a short walk to the beach. Would definitely stay again!
