About this property

The Cotter Cottage is a perfect vacation rental for those who want to be walking distance to all of the action of downtown Sister Bay. A 5 minute walk gets you to the public beach, Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant, Wild Tomato, Sister Bay Bowl, Husby's and all of your other favorite Sister Bay locales. The cottage is great for a single family that wants to have room to spread out or three families that want to split a rental to save on hotel costs and have all of the amenities of a home.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms with queen beds (two with attached bathrooms) and 3 total bathrooms. In addition is has a large 'bunk room' with 3 full over full bunk beds and a full size futon. The cottage has a fully stocked kitchen, a dining table that seats 10 with an additional adjacent eating area that seats 4, washer and dryer access, a large living room with a 55 inch flat screen TV and multiple streaming channels/WiFi. There is an additional seating area next to the dining table with a smaller TV with Direct TV and a TV in the bunk room with an Xbox 360.

For those of you who bring your boats and wave runners, the house is next door to the boat launch parking lot. The driveway is large enough for you store a boat/trailer in addition to several cars. The house is also a 3 minute walk to the Marina to rent a boat from Sister Bay Boat Rental.

It was not what we expected, it was more of a kids or family set up. This was an adult getaway and we were all taken back with having to " make our beds" on arrival. It was not conducive to adults

Great location, close to everything Sister Bay has to offer!

We visited the area with our adult children and grandchildren - this house was perfect for us! The location is great - quiet, but yet within an easy walk to everything Sister Bay has to offer. Owner was very responsive to communication House was well equipped with household items to eat-in or cook-out. It would have been nice to have some cabinet space to put our food items in, but not a deal-breaker. We didn't use the gas grill, but did enjoy sitting around the firepit. Beds were very comfortable. 2 bedrooms have attached bathrooms that are pretty small, but the rest of the home is spacious. The large dining table was great as well. Definitely recommend this VRBO and would stay again!

Pleasant stay

We had a very peaceful stay in a beautiful part of the world. Highly recommend after Labor Day here to avoid the crowds. Downtown Sister Bay is very convenient to all the sights and services in Sister Bay.

PERFECT!!

Perfect place. Lots of room, seating, entertainment, supplies. I even noticed plenty of little kid items, potty chairs, high chairs etc. Beds were super comfy. Very clean which is a must.

Family Fall Trip around Wisconsin

Enjoyed Door County and our stay. Every year we find a place in Wisconsin to get to know Wisconsin and it’s beauty. It was very nice and big home. Close to downtown easy walk.

Great Location, Met Our Needs

The location of this house was great, we were within walking of Main street Sister Bay. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean, the floors may not have been cleaned/mopped prior to our visit. Upon arrival, we had trouble opening the key lockbox, but called the owner, Brandon, and he returned our call right away and gave us instructions. We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the house as we were out exploring Door County, but it met all our needs. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic house that was is in a good location and affordable. And the host was very responsive.

Quick family getaway

This is an excellent location and would be great for a big family or multiple families. Lots of sleeping options, lots of gathering spaces, well stocked kitchen, great fire pit area outside. Walking distance to most of the Sister Bay attractions and short drive to neigboring cities. The property was very clean and well maintained. Lots of games, toys for kids

Perfect location and space

Plenty of room for our 3 families to spread out and enjoy our annual week together. Biking to the beach and playground was a daily hit with the little ones and walkability to food and bar favorites was a hit with the grown ups! The lower level area was fun too with a nightly match of the game. We will be back!

Girls weekend

The Cotter cottage was everything we needed and more! It was the perfect size for our girls trip to celebrate our beautiful bride! The location was perfect, easy walk to town but tucked away for it to feel secluded and has a nice size private yard with ample parking. Brandon is a great host and was easy to work with and commune with. We will definitely be back but maybe next time with our family.

Cotter Cottage Stupendous Experience

I enjoyed staying at the Cotter Cottage with my 2 girl friend's!! The house is walking distance from town so it was very conventent to walk to the restaurants & the beach. The house is big with plenty comfortable accommidating places to sleep. The beds that we used were very comfortable! The house was very clean and had a lot of additional items to utilize for guests, like a cooler, and a wagon for kids or to carry items to the beach. It is perfect for a large family gathering with small children. Yet, it definitely worked for us because it was so close to town & all 3 of us had our own bathrooms which was really nice. Brandon the owner was very informative & let me know of any issues that arouse prior to my stay & solved them very quickly. There was a very detailed information packet about what is expected from guess who stay at the cottage which was very helpful! It should be understood that everyone should be respectful of the property they rent as it is someone's charist home that they are gracious allowing people they don't know stay at the property. I would definitely rent this house again!!

Fantastic Stay

We enjoyed a long weekend with friends and family (6 total) to decompress and have some Door County fun. The house is larger than the pictures show. We ran into a shower head issue the first morning in the main bathroom. No flow at all. I contacted Brandon and he immediately replied. I volunteered to purchase a new shower head and we installed it quickly. Brandon reimbursed me immediately via Zelle....fantastic response! The only odd thing we encountered was that we had to place the fitted and regular sheets on the beds. It wasn't a big deal to me, just the first time I have encountered this at a rental home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Thanks Cotter family for allowing the use of your home!

Loved the house!

My friends and I stayed at the Cotter Cottage in Sister Bay and we LOVED the house! You are basically in downtown Sister Bay, within walking distance of the marina and restaurants. The location is perfect. We’ve stayed in plenty of rented homes in Door County and this is our favorite place so far. The house is huge! Roomy kitchen, plenty of room in the downstairs living room to have a movie night, and the bedrooms were near each other but still private (besides the bunk bedroom located on the other side of the house.) There are neighbors close by but the house is secluded by trees. We enjoyed using the firepit on a chilly fall night. The owners, Brandon and Maria, are very quick to reply to any messages while staying at the home, they are wonderful hosts - and we hope to be back next year!
